First time I've seen this interview since 2003. I was disappointed then and I'm disappointed now. Not a good interview. Which is a shame, cos their 1992 Ch4 interview had some amazing chemistry. No chemistry here at all. JR held back here when he should've really gone for it. Madonna almost seemed disappointed she wasn't being challenged. And as for the "bingo" comments. They were just pathetic! JR is a great interviewer, but he's at his best when "dominating" star guests, not fawning over them.

I had never seen these performances until very recently. She was very good and natural. I loved don't tell me (this video) and American life. Hollywood was good too (but she forgot part of the lyrics). I think she is an underrated live singer; although her singing is not "technically" impressive, I think she conveys so much emotion , which makes her an interesting performer. I prefer to listen to her "imperfect" vocal performances than see her lipsynch (like she does on occasion).

Wow, that was a great performance, and a great insight into someone who's publicly so flamboyant, so outrageous, so sexual, and yet here she was so uncertain of herself, so nervous, so demure and hesitant, and actually so likeable. A great skill of Wossy to bring this out and it show's how utterly crazy the BBC are to have let him go.
