i got 3 hackers of which 2 are hardware engineers at lvl 5 already. From the moment i hired them. It's no use to lvl them up because they get 1 skill point extra but cost you a HUGE amount of salary. Though the hackers are at lvl 5 hrdwr engineer, i can't change his/her job

to get the engineer you need to have a staff member who has got level 5 on every job type from coder right through to director then you can select the hardware engineer option.

Beware though they cost a ton ! my 2 engineers cost me a cool 4 millon a year in wages and thats only 2 lv2 engineers. but on the upside every game i release hits over 100 in virtually every catergory and makes nearly 4mil copies a time.
