Survival horror is like when you have limited resources and things like awkward to use weapons, or weird camera angles or fog to limit your vision to make you even feel more powerless making the game scary. I.e. silent hill, and old resident evil.
Action horror is basically a action game with horror elements, which are modern games.
you're right, the modern games are using the action horror mode... then, it's a shame we won't see games like RE0, 1, 2 and 3 anymore (I don't mention CODE: Veronica, I didn't get scared with it) :(
@ZomgGuitarz1234 You never have limited resources on those games dude.All you need to do is make correct use of your items.For the first time you might not have enough ammo,herbs,typewriters etc because you don't know the game well.Believe me there is no survival-horror till now in which you could stay out of ammo.Besides in old Resident Evils it wasn't necessary to fight enemies.You could avoid them and save bullets just for bosses.Not to mention the knife which is VERY helpful

Still, you can't even compare ammo conservation in old RE's and new RE's. I cleared out every area in RE4 and had a huge surplus of ammo, where as in old RE's it depended on the situation, like there are times when you couldn't avoid enemies (spiders that took up the whole frigen hallway for example)

I enjoyed not having item boxes...I didn't have to leave any room to find an item box just to drop something from my inventory to take the new item found in said room. I could make it happen right there,instantly...Drop the knife,take ammo,reload the weapon and there it is again,a free slot(cause you spent the ammo for reloading the weapon) to take the knife again.
In other RE games,you would have to leave the room and search for a safe room and then come back to take the new item etc

It really is a good soundtrack, for me this "Save Heaven" was the most beautiful I've ever seen of all resident evil, it is clear that the resident evil 4 was good too. thanks for posting this song.

Plus, in one of the novels (Underworld, I think, after RE3) she got injured pretty badly (got shot [no bulletproof vest], plus a hard blow to the head), and to make things worse, she was taken hostage and dragged by the neck by her captor, and she was too weak to fight back, practically out cold. I felt very sorry for her while reading this part...

im playing the wii version but the discs r a bit dogey they say disc error now and then but the first disc i got didnt work at all so had to swap it for another disc :D
Very nice yet sad theme, made you feel safe yet kinda contemplate on the horror that is only just beginning, people that are gonna die etc , thats what i got from this theme.

@edward18517 So we agree that RE4 is not a RE game, which is what I've basically been arguing. I liked it as a game itself for it's gameplay a bit, it wasn't like survival like RE but it had it's moments when it was decent and the enviroments where nice.

@edward18517 I just expected something better than the "Weak vs the strong" mentality insane in 5. It really is kind of underwhelming in comparison to all the other shit he's been doing in the older resident evils. I mean in 1 he was all about self gain and making himself superhuman, and stuff like that, now it's almost like a James Bond-ish type of villain with this "I'm going to mess up the world" crap.

I enjoyed not having item boxes...I didn't have to leave any room to find an item box just to drop something from my inventory to take the new item found in said room. I could make it happen right there,instantly...Drop the knife,take ammo,reload the weapon and there it is again,a free slot(cause you spent the ammo for reloading the weapon) to take the knife again.
In other RE games,you would have to leave the room and search for a safe room and then come back to take the new item etc

Plus, in one of the novels (Underworld, I think, after RE3) she got injured pretty badly (got shot [no bulletproof vest], plus a hard blow to the head), and to make things worse, she was taken hostage and dragged by the neck by her captor, and she was too weak to fight back, practically out cold. I felt very sorry for her while reading this part...

This music says to me that although you are in a safe place, this is an incrediably dark day because this is the day when the world changes because of the T virus and all of the other viruses plus the las plagas after that. This theme is basically saying the world won't ever be the same ever again, because this is the very start of many bad things to come.....

I think all the save themes of the RE games really give you that pit in your stomach feeling of nostalgia like no other RE songs.
