they changed it now u dont swim up to shore u come to shore as a slug and have to evolve as a slug

Nope, you've got it the wrong way round...sort of. At first they wanted you to look like your cell. Then, they went with the slug idea. Then they went back to this idea. All the recent videos have these guys walking out of the sea like in this video

that was canceled and now you put up legs and come on land as a legged creature.

THe slug thing was still implemented at the ted 07 video in march but they took it out since.

THere's lots of stuff changed even since Caryl SHaw did the interview with gaming steve in march 2008

theres 1 other video on youtube from SF, a security gaurd apparently came up to him and told him no filming was allowed.

The very last stages of the Cell phase are the Water phase... If you were to look in the water one day you and find your cell in the last part of the cell phase, it would be fish sized

The reason they made me stop apparently had nothing to do with spore. The demo was at the Apple Store, and they dont let anyone take videos in their store.
