Why does everyone think Derek should be beating Thatcher up? His wife died of the HICCUPS, after everyone said she'd be fine. It was horrible that Thatch hit her, but Derek would be fired and could even lose his license for all the codes of ethics he would be violating by beating up a man whose wife died at the hospital he is the chief of Neuro for. He can't bring his home life to the work and beat a man whose wife died just because that man hit his girlfriend in a moment of complete anguish.

If you guys Google Grey's anatomy and look at the ratings it started going down from season 4 by 4 million views i take it that was when Burke left and then it when way more down after izzie and george left. Grey's anatomy will never be the same show that we all love. when i want to feel like i use i rewatch season 1-3 those where the high points of grey's.

Of course it was wrong, you can see he knows it was wrong, but when the bottom drops out of your world, so does your grip with morality. Heartbreaking scene.
