  • Jesus said "Come and See" to John so to write Revelation. Taking scripture so out of context to change the meaning makes one a false teacher and shows one that doesn't allow The Holy Spirit's leading.

  • I Corinthians 1:21

For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

  • As Christians the Bible is our guide book, God's Word - the OT is Gods Will unrevealed the NT is Gods Will revealed. It's what we need - our Cornerstone

Praise Jesus! the Truth is the Truth :)

  • It is more than hearing a message it is believing and practicing the message:.” Heb 4:2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened." Also, Jas 1:22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. AMP

  • Rick Warren and Joel Olsteen, among others, are FALSE teachers and will lead people to HELL. They want to ignore the Cross and sin. Warren even advocates removing all crosses from outside and inside the Church. Yeshua (Jesus) said "I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me". Yeshua should the the most often talked about person in any Church. Maranatha!

  • OK I'm calm now. I left First Baptist Daytona some years ago when I did my own research on Warren and tried to meet with the pastors to "reason" with them. They refused, one pastor retired, one was thrown out, the "building" program has gone no where in several years.

Any church that indoctrinates it's congregation with poison will be cursed, until they repent.

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God, the scriptures speak to you who do not abide in His word but in folly, for the word speaks to your foolishness, cry out to your god of carnality, lay low below your altar of deceit for you are but a fool, prone to falsehood. A man's pride shall bring him low, but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. “Proverbs 29:23

  • Woe unto you false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God , the scriptures speak to your waywardness, Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you John 15:2-3 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, because ye despise this word and trust in oppression and perverseness and stay thereon. Isaiah 30:12

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God, you who sit before your altar of a perversity, for it is the lot of those who are perishing and who have chosen not to abide in Him. We who are called will not be dissuaded by the feeble minded, for we are the children of God. “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God , the scriptures speak to you whose walk is disorderly and who exhibit despicable attributes regarding the brethren, For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 2 Thessalonians 3:11 , “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” Matthew 7:23

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God, the scriptures speak to you “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.” 2 Thessalonians 3:6 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. “Proverbs 26:3

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who do not walk with a spirit of conviction but of contempt, the scriptures speak of those who cause divisiveness, to those who are contemptuous, to those who are railers, to those who are bitter, harsh and derisive, “But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railor, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.” 1 Corinthians 5:11

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God, you who are proud of heart and haughty, “To fear the LORD is to hate evil, I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech Proverbs 8:13, Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5 ,” Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling. “Proverbs 16:18

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God , the scriptures speak to you who sow discord among the breathen, you who is weak minded, perverse, insolent and scornful, ““Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Romans 16:17, “A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. “Proverbs 6:19

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God , the scriptures speak to you who fall at the feet of these abominations of deceit, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4

  • Woe unto you false prophets and false teachers who deceive the spiritually dead and pervert the word of God , you who stand before your altar of carnality, for it is the lot of the natural man who is an enemy of God, who is not submissive, nor meek, nor humble, nor patient, nor full of love, nor willing to submit to the father but only to the lusts of the flesh and the wisdom of men. You who seek fleshy wisdom for you are carnal, rebellious, disobedient and haughty.

  • Jesus did actually say "Come and see" - in response to someone's question: Rabbi, where are you staying? (John 1:38-39), so Rick Warren did not misquote the Bible as such. However, I think that's the only occurrence of Jesus saying "come and see" whilst he invited people on several occasions to follow him.

  • I wouldn't attend this CULT If you Paid Me! IF people did a google or a youtube search to find out more about rick warren and his Beliefs and affiliations, they would be shocked! BUT IT"S ALL TRUE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lasvegastroll : Amen! Rick Warren, Joel Olsteen, and others, are deceiving many. They are "teachers" for those with itching ears. Seek Yeshua (Jesus) while there is still time. Worship God only and serve Him. REPENT! Sha-alu Shalom Yirushalayim. Maranatha!

  • You're a moron...............

  • On youtube type in kerney thomas for the most annoying preacher EVER!

  • Radio personalities go out of their way to be fucking annoying!

  • There is but one Lord One Faith and one Babtism, One God and Father who is abopve all through all and in you all. Rick Warren you had best repent my friend for even considering anything but Jesus as a saviour, by even entertaining devils in hopes to barter peace you condemn your soul. The 12th Imam is the one riding on a white horse with the prophet beside him in the book of revelationns that is the anti Christ and the false prophet. Perhaps you show by your actions Rick who's ide your truly on.

  • @denoinwa YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DECEIVED!!!!

  • It'd be nice to hear the original piece from Rick Warren instead of selected sound-bites and a lot of commentary. I have to say that people can't just "do what they're told" period end-of-story, they have to feel it's right in themselves in order to stick with it. The real driver is inside, not outside.

  • Praise God for Rick Warren!!! Some valid points were made about the seeker sensitive movement. Flawed but successful in the purpose for which it has functioned. Many people do and did come, and MANY were saved and are being saved. God moved them on, and that is soooooooooo good. It is a doorway movement, not a spiritual maturity movement. Get saved and get out... NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

  • This is full of craps.

  • These soundbytes were EDITED and the meanings were misrepresented...you Athiests will do ANYTHING to twist someone's word to turn someone away from faith...I feel pity for anyone who falls into this trap

  • John 1:39 - "Come and See"

    John 1:43 - "Follow me"

Indeed His first words to His disciples were "come and see," not "follow me," which comes four verses later.

Also, Jesus' "Come and See" gets passed on from Andrew to Simon Peter to Phillip to Nathaniel (1:46).

    Pastor Rick Warren was accurate.

  • @tokkis Thank you so much for posting John 1:39. I can't believe the comment in the audio of this video claims that this is only in "loosey goosey" translations. It's in KJV and every other english version I checked. What are they using and calling the bible? Now we see who the true deceivers are; Lane's Blog and everything on it.

  • @dlbattle100 Good. Now Satan is glad you keep attending your 501c3 Sunday church paying your tithe to hireling Rick Warren. It's sad to see blind guides leading the blind.

And it appears you are subscribed to quite a few atheists. Whether you are an impostor, troll, or Satanic implant makes no difference. God is not mocked. Ciao.

  • @tokkis Stop worshiping Rick Warren. Only God is to be praised.

  • Wow, The Christian church is so divided, they war against themselves. I observed the way to be a Christian is to condemn and judge others. There is no love for one another in the church. Jesus said, " the kingdom of God is within" but all I hear from Christians is slandering and I am greater than thou, they live instead with the kingdom of Hell within. God help the Christian church.

  • @questioneverything2, what you are actually hearing is the defense of the true gospel as it is presented in the Holy Bible. The problem that apparent unbelievers like you run into is the false notion that everyone that says they are "christian" actually is. RIck Warren, Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, T.D. Jakes. Joyce Meyer, etc.,etc., are nowhere near to praising and acknowledging the God of the bible. And Christians (all of them) are told to expose the wolves in sheeps clothing. Just like here!!!

  • Rick Warren I think is missunderstood. He says so dumb things so that is probaly why.

I don't think he is against semons, (4 he preaches them weekly), however his point is small groups and communion with God and brethren, ie: bible reading is what does it most. Context, context context boys! John 1:3 Jesus did say come and see, when asked where he lived- that was Jesus saying....follow me silly

  • Can we take Rick Warren and I don't know... TAR AND FEATHER HIM?!! THEN RUN HIM OUT OF THE COUNTRY?!

  • I was surprised to see John Piper at the end of this video in the direct position of contradiction to Rick Warren, considering that he seems to be backing up Rick Warren lately. Yes, in comment to Todd's question, I believe - at this time - John Piper is a counter point.

  • 80% people all around the world deserve for hell now and all will receive proof of that and warning next year!!!

people decide where they want to go!

This is last year of God˛s mercy!

  • "Rick Warren Twisting Scripture"? So, what else is new?

  • What is this shit?

  • god is jesus christ.com

  • Keep your eyes on Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Satan comes to divide people especially believers.

Do NOT follow a person unless it is the person of Jesus Christ. Get out of any church that does not preach and teach the whole gospel.

Jesus never preached the PROSPERITY GOSPEL.

  • oh my god.. a bunch of religous nuts twisting the scripture.. no way!!! really?? no shit. tell me something i didnt already know

  • But Jesus DID say "come and see" in one story, where someone asked him "where are you staying". That was only one occasion, as far as I remember, so maybe it's a bit much that Rick Warren makes so much of this.

  • Rick Warren Is an anointed prophet of the DEVIL for this time.

  • @Matachilangos wow that list just keeps growing and growing

  • Rick Warren may be a Christian, pastor of a large church but God is not impressed...He can still be a false teacher as are most all Vineyard Churchs whose pastors are scripturally ignorant....as is Willow Creek church and Bill Hybals.

  • Depends on "who" is preaching and with what conviction. The Word lives and must be preached. I am so over these new age emergent churches. I'm leaving my church because they believe playing the band "Cold Play, I can fix you" at a baptism makes the church more palatable for sinners. WHAT????? Time for me to leave!

Yeah bait, that's what it is! Cold Play in my church, bait!!!!!

  • You're an idiot with a cheesy ass smile and a generic top-40 hits casey casem wannabe voice. Keep cooking in your little tiny room. Get used to it. The way of the master is outdated and totally not compelling.

  • I think he actually means when Jesus told the disciples, Come and see, after John asked him where he was living, or where was his home. Remember?

  • This tape is 100% correct.

  • todd if you would spend more time preaching, and leave other preacher alone mabee God would bless you !!! if you see your brother HAS A LOG IN HIS EYE WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUREYE REXELLA TODD ? GET RIGHT OR STAY LEFT

  • We need to focus on what good comes out of people and not their shortcomings or limitations. You and I have fallen short of God's glory and it is only Christ who can save us if we believe and receive him (John 1:12).

  • Wonderful YOUTUBE, this is just why we must spend much time in God's Word, and prayer. Pride blinds the heart, we must cherish God's crosses and the precious gift of humility.

  • This overweight closeted heretic has plenty of money. If you were baptized in his church tythed money to him or believe what he says then you are seriously vulnerable to false doctrine and i will pray for you.

  • i'm done following biblical movements...i'll just follow the bible. The Holy Spirit is weaning me off looking to preachers and getting on my knees and going to THE source of infinite wisdom. I don't see this as bickering despite the tone, this guy needs to be exposed. Things are dangerous in america...Christianity is being blurred that's so much worse and so much more deceptive. Jesus come quickly!

  • Rick Warren is fittingly called America's Pastor - America, my friends, is a neo-pagan country!!!

  • @matt3i6 Neo-pagan...ain't that the truth..so sad..

  • At the risk of being accused of stealing Sarah Palin's campaign slogans - stick to your guns and hold their feet to the fire!

  • Gospel of John, chapter 1, twice: "Come and see."

  • The description of this video doesn't make sense. Needs to be rewritten.

  • You can grow a church by false teaching in the end times, there alot of them today 2 Timothy 4:2-4 2preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

  • Great expose...

  • I realize that Warren and Osteen think they are doing good and want people to feel good about themselves and their relationship to our LORD CHRIST--but the Bible doesn't say you are here to find personal fulfillment through abundance, or finding your meaning--other than how EITHER relates to abundance in Christ and finding meaning in serving the LORD our God. We are here to live, serve and worship.

  • @ScottMacFie ::: Don't believe John 10:10 or Matt 11:28-30?

  • @k0smon The thing is, is that Warren or Osteen do not preach repentence.

  • @RBHILL300 ;;; I don't know about Warren, but Osteen does preach repentance, but it is not couched in religious phraseology. Repentance= abandon bad habits or ways(Encarta dictionary). The whole gist of Osteen's sermons is to change the way you think ( yes, it is metaphysical). In that respect, if you get to thinking correctly, you will automatically have 'repented' from whatever the wrong thinking led you into.

  • These guys present a certain, immutable view of the world for their befuddled masses. I like his stentorian voice...as if this honed instrument is in itself, a indication of spiritual depth. It is an indication of how low they will go to turn a buck. These guys actually practice their sound. They are very sensitive to their audience's vulnerabilities and deep need for certainty...just as Hitler was. They aren't about religion. They are ALL about money....money from their ditto-headed "masses"

  • More bickering among the bretheren. GOd must be so pleased.

  • Either or argument? Really?

  • this guy needs to shut up, at least rick is trying to bring people to Christ. So shut your month douche.

  • CAN YOU SAY ...GLEN BECK Wanna BE??..WOW...Not Stupid...

  • Hi. Come and follow me right over this cliff. I swear nothing bad will happen.. hee hee hee hee. Spiritual englightenment awaits thee. Hee hee hee hee.

    What? Immitation is high praise.

  • I wanna be a part of Rick's warren and not have to think too much for myself about the unknowable.

  • burn forever in hell or believe in Jesus

  • GREATTTT!!!

  • If rick warren was not the senior pastor then it wouldnt be a cult. The music however is excellent here.

  • @brianwelchisaphony It depends on your definition of cult. Some definitions of cult say anything that has to do with supernatural belief and worship which therefore makes us Christians part of a cult.

  • WOW, my band was asked to play at Saddleback church for their Celebrate Recovery Program. After watching this and hearing Rick Warren's pragmatic post modern approach to church, I don't think we will be making that trip! If Peter was pragmatic Annias and Saphira wouldn't have even been questioned let alone their sin exposed and dealt with. Growing a church is nit the paramount issue. The paramount issue is spiritually feeding your flock and praying that more people are reach by God through you!

  • @yeshualovesme1 Thank you for your encouragement!

  • @yeshualovesme1 PLEASE do yourself a favor and research the origins of Celebrate Recovery ... they use the 12 steps from A.A. which are demonic ... I have tons of info ... will find a few links and post them here.

  • @africanshutterbug65 please send em those links if you could. I am interested!

  • @yeshualovesme1 Are you seriously suggesting that "god" is real? is there some study i've missed? I thought god, allah, vishnu, zeus, odin etc were all recognized as human fabrications. Next thing you know people will be saying the bible/koran/bhagavad gita etc are literally true lol. :o)

  • @1empathy yeah, I'm saying God is literally real. God bless you. :)

  • @yeshualovesme1 That is so sweet, good for you. Any credible evidence for that?

  • @1empathy Yeah, my life! God bless you. :)

  • @yeshualovesme1 Your life is evidence for god? Interesting, which god? Do i have to believe for your incantation "god bless you" to work? or does he bless me anyway?

  • @1empathy The God of the Bible, for sure.

Do i have to believe for your incantation "god bless you" to work? or does he bless me anyway?

I guess we'll have to see what God does about it, huh?

    God bless you, brother.

  • @yeshualovesme1 The bible that describes a flat earth with a dome over the top and water all around, that tells of a god who "created" the sun after the earth? When a book that claims to be from god, contradicts reality, we can safely assume it is not from god and ignore it.

  • @1empathy I swear, all you athiest say the exact same things. I am really getting tired of the circuit. The book of Job (earliest written book, make's it clear that the Earth is a sphere, and hangs on nothing as seen from space. That was written in 2000BC. Get a better argument. I am tired of stupidity. Don't talk to me unless you are serious about what scripture says. You made yourself into a fool! Tired of it!

  • @yeshualovesme1 And i am tired of theists using one line to defend several criticisms. I am referring to genesis, so defend genesis including the order of creation of sun and moon. as for job: Job 9 "pillars of the earth" "commandeth the sun and it riseth not", "heavens spread out" but you're probably thinking of job 26 v7&10. verse 7 refers to how the apparant "vaul"t of heaven turns round the north star and 10 says circle, circles are flat 2 dimensional figures. Face it, It's a flat earth book

  • @1empathy If your tired of THEISTS....Stay out of THEISTS YouTube videos to start. Let People Believe What They Want To.

  • @jazzmac03 When you keep what you believe to yourself, i will stop criticizing, but if you put your opinion out there and i think it's wrong and have good reasons and evidence to back that up, then i'll keep commenting. Remember religion does real damage in the world, the enlightenment tamed christianity, i want to help keep it tame. And before you ask, yes i do attack islam because it is equally wrong.

  • @1empathy Actually I wasn't going to ask that.....(Not sure where that came from???). Here's my thing. My point is your not helping or adding to anything. Your just proving a point so you can be right. The whole world is flat argument was dead a LONG time ago so WHO CARES? If you believe in Jesus who says the Greatest thing to do is Love God And Love Others......I don't see the problem....

  • @jazzmac03 But your belief in jesus originates with the bible and if the bible is nionsense (as parts of it clearly are) you would be a fool to base your life on it. If you love jesus because you think you've met him just remember every faith has people like you but they didn't meet jesus, they met their guru, messenger, avatar etc from their (equally stupid) holy book. Doesn't that suggest anything to you?

  • @1empathy Dude....you didn't read ANYTHING I posted...smh....you get an 'F' in communication

  • @jazzmac03 There is no F in communication ;o) My comments have been directed at any theist, if you are not one but just defending them then they don't really apply to you, but you originally asked why i posted on theistic sites and my comments followed from that.

  • @1empathy Actually you DO fail in communicating......LISTENING is a part of communication buddy. And you FAIL because you've addressed NOTHING from MY response to you making this an empty discussion. You talked about guru's and messangers, being a fool to have faith in the Bible. I never said ANYTHING about the validity of the Bible....so why even go there....Why not address what I Said.... SO yes....you've failed

  • @jazzmac03 Maybe it's you that needs to read back over your comments?

  • Comment removed

  • @1empathy As far as sharing beliefs Penn Jillette said it best. If you REALLY believe Im doomed if I don't accept Jesus, or Muhammed, or whoever....and you don't tell me.....thats pretty JACKED UP. So my thing is....as a Christian.....Unless I want information or want to LEARN about another faith....Im not visiting their videos....But thats just me....No disrespect...I just find it inconsiderate to do that

  • I cannot hear what you're saying, because your voice is so abrasive. Why does this guy sound like every other commentator on CNN? Listen to how John Piper talks, and let that guide your tone.

  • I cannot hear what you're saying, because your voice is so abrasive. Why does this guy sound like every other commentator on CNN? Listen to how John Piper talks, and let that guide your tone.

  • why does this guys voice remind me of showcasing and debate? I can't even hear what you say because you're argumentative and whiny voice.

  • The point is so simple....he has a system that brings people from non-belief to faith in Christ and discipleship.....he didn't say not to preach the Word from the pulpit.....he just said that the sunday morning pulpit sermon is not the only part of the process......he uses a small group discipleship program to solidify new believers in faith and Bible teaching. Which is completely Biblical...taking the 3000 or 5000 saved in a day and plugging them into smaller house churches.

  • @kenpca I have no time for videos twisting people's words around. Whether or not Rick Warren is the antichrist himself or a saint, no credit should be given to this kind of break-down and inference-inserting analysis of a person's speech. Nothing from the audio of the speech was necessarily the same as all the inferences thrown in all over the place. This attitude of the church is so disappointing! Good thing I know and love God for myself, or I would keep my distance from some of our brethren

  • But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." (JOHN 13:32) "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:44) iTS the Spirit of God that draws the people not tecnique or new age bait! I agree with most what the host is saying, I hate tha people aer offended by his tone, Im not! We are to do thingsthe way Jesus does it and this is why its important for us to study the Word of God for ourselves.

  • Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day (Acts 2:41).

"But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand." (ACTS 4:4) "12The apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people....14Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds (ACTS 5:12,-15)

  • ephesians 5:4- Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving..... just a thought but this dj needs to be careful how many times he breaks this command from scripture! i agree with alot fo his critiques however BE THE CHURCH.

  • Both of them are wrong... but I gotta admit, I was really amused by the DJ's reactions to Warren.

  • two arrogant fools Rick Warren is wrong in his understanding and this radio jockey is wrong in his actions. Dont need either of them to find Jesus, all that is needed is reading Scripture and praying, those G-d prepared to go to him will find their way there by doing so, those that were not prepared will never find their way, nothing that can be done or changed regarding these truths, no pastor or church can change that.

  • i don't like the mouthiness. But it gets better..

  • Since you believed have you recieved the Holy Ghost. I am not interested in growing a church her on earth. I am passionate in grow Gods kingdom Christ church in heaven period. Prayer is foundational TRUTH Jesus always went to the father in prayer. Acts Chapter 19th. I share this TRUTH so you all can recieved the HS and be saved. John 3:5. In Jesus Name!

  • Rick warren has not been baptized with the Holy Spirit. ACT 2:38. The fact is if you have been to a church and have been Baptised in the name of the Father son and holy Ghost but not in the name OF Jesus with the recieving of the Holy Ghost then you are not saved period. Thats Truth.

  • @rcarrido1 : That is not supported by scripture...must be a United Pentacostal brain washed to think that this is everything. Acts 2:38 quotes Peter and Matt 28:19 quotes JESUS CHRIST Himself whne he said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,.... come out from that cult like, error filed denomination!!

  • good points, but dude, try a bit of love rather than sarcasm....

  • yes, warren is a heretic, but this opponent of the man is no better: nasty self righteous ranting.

I grow weary of hearing heresy refuted nastily. you may as well go out there and endorse the man rather than condemn warren like this.

no love, no mercy. whoever this guy is (Todd Friel?) he himself is not a follower of Jesus. look at his fruit

  • @Strefanash read how the prophets rebuked and spoke against the Israelites whenever they sinned. In today's standards their methodology seems unloving and unChristlike.

look at Jesus overturning the tables in the temple.

    seems a bit violent. extreme.

  • The ONLY good thing about Rick Warren and His Saddleback Church CULT is The Music. Other Than That,I do NOT submit to the authority of This Overweight closeted homosexual, and I would recommend to All others, whom feelo the same weay,to look for a Better Church! thank You.

  • There must be something better for you people to do with your time than criticize people who are following their calling. Sure, Warren has said things that you and I may not agree with, but to slander a brother the way that this video does and the way some of these comments do is outrageous. I'm glad there are pastors who care about non-believers, are we not to be fishers of men? Be God's tool, don't sit here and distort the truth about brothers and sisters who are furthering the kingdom.

  • @dmerr2123 RIck Warren is Satan's tool. Did you see him at the Annual Davos Meeting openly advocating the amalgamation of all the world's religions? He is exposed to promote the New World Order agenda! The Devil mixes lies in with truth. You should know this, so don't be deceived by Rick Warren.

How do you even know he is a brother? The Bible says open rebuke is better than secret love. We are commanded to judge righteous judgment. (John 7:24) Be Biblical, not emotional.

  • @dmerr2123 God bless you. Glad to know there are still Christians out there that have their heads on

  • what about John 1.38-39 somebody didn't do his Bible study alright...

    PING POW

  • @lasvegasdaril - hey - what's wrong with Pastor Chuck Smith ? I've listened to him or radio a few times..... where is he wrong. Also. at least Rick Warren takes a firm stand against the gay marriage/ homosexual lifestyle thing. Pls clarify your remarks. thanks

  • @shieldsff Rick Warren has completely backed off on homosexuality, now that he knows how angry people are with him. Remember his nice video endorsement of of Prop8? How he said he supported in for reasons x,y, and z? After Prop 8 failed, he came out and said, oh, I never endorsed it even pushed the issue, in fact, I've never considered myself an activist. Go look it up. Larry King Rick Warren. Right on You Tube.

  • I attended a church for 14 years. loved the people but frankly got so sick and tired of the pastor using "other" props and quotes from other sources more than scripture. I got to were I could not stand to hear one more of his sermons...I stopped going to church. Love the body of Christ but some of these pastors need to come down out of the pulpit and just preach what the Word says.

  • Around 4:18, Warren makes more sense than the commentator. Warren is saying that Jesus told some future disciples 'come and see' where he lived, and later asked for commitment. He did not say the 'come and see' people are saved in the clips you are showing. Btw, Warren's translations are loosey goosey.

  • At 4:20, It's I Corinthians 14. It doesn't say 'clear orderly preaching teaching.' It says 'if all prophesy' and tells of the unlearned or unbeliever bowing down and saying Christ is truly among you.

  • Where does the Bible say to preach 3-part speeches called 'sermons.' the Bible says 'preach.' It doesn't say to structure preaching like a sermon. 'Preach' is generally used of evangelistic proclamation outside of church, and 'teach' and 'prophecy' is done for believers. I doubt that was Warren's point, however.

  • Spiritual maturity is Biblical because Ephesians 4: 11-14tells us that we should not remain as "spiritual babes". Preachimg alone does automatically bring about maturity but it is necessary for people to understand the word of God because the ethiopian eunuch had knowledge but lacked understanding but when Philip opened the scripture up then He was converted because he was ready and had the understanding necessary to be committed. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God Rom10:14-17

  • spiritual maturity isn't biblical you ass, the ground you stand on is sinking sand. im talking to the broadcaster by the way. Rick never claimed that there should not be preaching, simply that preaching does not bring "spiritual maturity?" which is non biblical. prayer and preaching does not grow a church, god does, sermons do not save, god does. we dont pray because it gets us what we want, we pray because we are COMMANDED to.

  • What grows wide and up is the living Church, The body of Christ. The organized church is just a mix group of saved and unsaved, working together for two different purposes. Those, to win souls, these to get influence.

  • I don't agree with all of Rick Warrens vibe, however, he is right about 'preaching' not saving people, when 'preaching' is defined by dudes standing at a podium, giving a weekly lecture. Also, he is giving the process of his church concept, no one is going to agree on this issue. Wars have been fought over this, Orthodox, Catholics, Lutherans, Calvinists, Methodists, Baptists etc.... they all have different concepts and none are getting it 100%, the foundation is the key... needs to be Jesus!

  • My problem with this is that we are not called to merely walk in His footsteps. We are called to lay down our old life and die with Jesus so that we can have a new life in Jesus (Galatians 2:19-20).

Anything less is not pleasing to God, because only God can satisfy all of God's requirements.

Rick Warren does not teach about God or even know God. His God is a god of works, it all depends on how much we can and will do. That's not Biblical.

  • Wasn't it implied that he meant preaching by itself.. bible reading and prayer for the individual.. being the crucial element in life changes. Prayer without work... I think is what he's referring to.

Man, this whole video is condescending and not really constructive. What context are you giving for helping people change their lives in a biblical direction?

Why oppose someone who is preaching Christ?

  • @utopianquilts..Rick Warren and many of his seeker sensative contemporarys are attempting to bypass sound biblical principles and are embracing secular marketing strategies to enlarge churches, what these motivational speakers forget is that real church growth has nothing to do with church numbers but is in actual fact the maturing of faith and spiritual power of believers in the Church. God dosen't need slick strategies to save he will save who he wills with or without us. Glory to God!!

  • Wow! What an eye opener!

  • Sermons don't -- they produce Robot Christians who sit there and say, "By your command." That doesn't mean that we should take away sermons, because they do give foundation for spiritual maturity. What gives us spiritual maturity is spending time with God, knowing Him better, and allowing Him to reveal Himself to us more and more each day. That produces spiritual maturity!

  • Sorry to break it to you, but Jesus at John 1:39 says, "Come and see." (It's not a translation issue either--I looked it up in Greek.)

This is also a terribly narrow definition of "preaching"--which ignores the fact that the message of the Church is communicated by the whole church and not the 'preacher' solely.

Nothing else in this video is worth responding to.

  • @DivineMasterRios part 1 of 2

Joh 1:37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Joh 1:38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Joh 1:39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

  • @DivineMasterRios part 2 of 2: Please note, Rios, that the Warren Bible quote is totally out of context. This is not an unusual thing for him. Also please note that the Bible passage isn't about the disciples following Jesus, since they were already following Him [see vs 1:37]. They were asking where He was staying at time, and he beckoned them to come see where He was dwelling. Warren twists it for his own purpose. Just letting you know. =)

  • @ariadne12345

Hmmm... the thing is, for John's gospel the call to 'come and see' is the primary call to discipleship. You can actually observe how it runs through the whole book when it comes back again at 20:29, where Jesus says to Thomas, "Blessed are those who believe but have not seen." Get it? Because the disciples have seen, now they can pass on a testimony faithfully to you. You should 'see' as well, then pass it on to others. So, I'm not bothered by Warren's use of John 1:39.

  • @DivineMasterRios - CONTEXT ALERT! "Come and see" in that context is in answer to "Where are you staying?" It has NOTHING to do with how one enters the church. Oh, but I suppose context doesn't matter to you or to the spiritually bankrupt "gospel" of Ricky Warren.

While all aspects of our lives are to be cared for by the church, it is PRIMARILY done so through the hearing of the preaching of the Word, and the DILIGENT STUDY thereof. Word, Sacrament, Prayer, Church Discipline grow Christians.

  • @stegokitty Actually, context matters to me a great deal--hence, I appeal to the context of John's gospel as a whole (in my earlier comment) in an attempt to show how "come and see" is a microcosmic statement of John's overarching call to discipleship.

But perhaps that is neither here nor there, because what saddens me most at this point is the hateful way that many people are speaking about Warren, who, whether one agrees with him or not, remains a brother in Christ.

  • @DivineMasterRios - Are you sure? Is Joel Osteen a brother in Christ? How about Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Hagin, Frederick Price, etc.? How about Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russel? Are these, because they proclaim the name of Christ, and some form of discipleship in his Name, are these to be accepted in warm embrace by the Church?

  • Ecclesiastes 10:10? What About Isaiah 40:31?

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

  • John 1:43-46 (NASB)

43 The next day He purposed to go into Galilee, and He *found Philip. And Jesus *said to him, "Follow Me."

44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.

45 Philip *found Nathanael and *said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

46 Nathanael said to him, "Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" Philip *said to him, "Come and see."
