On the celebration of the 4th of July.....please remember everyone, through tears, through blood, and through relentless commitment, that never gave up...never stopped believing...and fought with every ounce of sheer fortitude to make sure that this country is still the greastest damn thing in the whole wide world.
he sang this at joe louis between periods at a game. he had everyone standing and a roaring applause. not a dry eye in the house. GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY. ALL BRANCHES.
makes me so thankfull to all of our military folks that have sacrificed their daily lives to protect the american way of life, THERES NO FINER AND STRONGER FORCE ON THE PLANET THEN THE UNITED STATES MILITARY!!!
Awesome video!! I LOVE this song!! I just want to say thank you to every soldier out there..Past, Present, & Future..We are free because of you! :) So a BIG thank you to ya'll
Very, very cool, Derek. Thank you for helping to get this message out. This is an important reminder for all of us that, even when it's "over" to us, it's not necessarily over for them. We may or may not be able to fix it for them, but the very least that we can do is understand it. Thank you for helping us understand.
Thank you to all the service men/women. You put your lives on the line for us, the American people every day. This is a beautiful song and I can't imagine what it would be like to be "there" one day and then "here" the next. The transition has to be nearly impossible, even though you're "home", you have to switch gears so fast. I'm sure it's so intense, then coming home even under the best of circumstances.
Derek I di have to say of all the great songs over all these years that you have brought home, this one, as got to be #1!! I'm proud of you as usual!! Luv ya bro
This song makes me cry every time i hear it. I have a brother leaving for the Marines on July 4th 2010, And i dont want him to go because im scared of losing him but he wants to fight for this country and if its what makes him happy then im going to be happy for him:)
My sister is in the Army and we are REALLY close. I felt/feel the same way you do, but everything worked out and it will for you too. My sister has been in for 4 years now and has been volunteering to get deployed ever since she got in, it just wasn't her time yet until now. She is deploying now. She told me that she felt she was never serving her country until she has gone. Never think the worst. tell him thank you for serving our country and protecting us. no worries ok, he'll be fine.
This is a great song. I have a son in the Marines. He was 17 when he went into the delayed entry program. He is 18 now and at Camp Pendleton in MCT.I am so proud of all the men and women who fight for this GREAT NATION of ours.Thank you!!!!!!
Great song. Are there any rap or R&B songs like this? I'm just askin? If so I ain't heard them. I've never heard this song untill my wife sent me the video. I wish there was more music like being prduced. And by the way.... Semper Fidelis Marine! God Bless America!
A beautiful tribute to our men and women who serve this country. I wish our military would give them time to decompress before they get home so they might be better able to adapt to 'normal' life and get into counseling if need be for PTSD. I've seen so many Vietnam Vets suffer because of their war experiences. This generation of soldiers needs better treatment and a Welcome Home when they do come back.
Heard this on Fox and Friends this morning. Had to find it to share with my FB friends. Beautiful job Derek. It brought tears to my eyes. I have an uncle who served with the Marines in Vietnam. I never realized until the last 10 years ago how deeply affected he was by his experience. Thank you for this beautiful tribute!
yes, that is where i saw it, too. i had to share it with all my fb'ers, too. i guess all of us georgia people think alot of our troops no matter what war they served in. my husband was in the operation iraqi freedom.
great song and video. my husband has ptsd, so it IS so TRUE they do NOT come back the same. i wished some people would understand how they are forever changed and how this also affects the family, too.
People just have no idea....honor their service.
