@J0J0McM0M0 Offending people on youtube is cool :) Most luxury suvs like a Q7 or X5 are pretty capable off road though, they have more ground clearance than an AWD road car. Off course they can't do rock climbing very well but they won't get stuck in a meadow.

@stidhamhimer last winter in the UK we have several weeks of snow and black ice so yeah i think that the Quattro system was well worth any extra my mate drives a jag X-type and he had a nightmare but his secretary who drives an A3 ...Quattro was in work on time no hassles and it usually equates to about £1.5k less on the cheaper models so i think its a price well worth its weight in gold

Okay, this thing is not build for off road, maybe to maintain decent control on the icy roads, but not offroad. The tires are not made for it but worst of all is the suspension. They're built for comfort. these springs and shocks cannot take lots of pressure. They are not designed for the vehicle to take air of go off large bumps.

Great car the Q7 but not really an off roader. Although I think even a Land Rover 110/defender would have struggled with that second hill. AudiQ7V8 the allroad isn't as capable as the Q7 off road. It's really just a slightly more rugged A6 with adjustable ride height and a slightly more complicated ESP.

despite what i've seen here, the q7 looks too fragile to be an off-roader. yes audi's do have a rich rally lineage, but the sheer "bulk" of this car makes me doubt its off-road capabilities. for a "family" car this earns top notch - better than a heavy land rover discovery 3 and the not-a-car-yet-not-quite-an-SUV xc90.

Oddly, the VW Touerag and Porsche Cayenne variants of that car are better for off-roading. The Audi (despite their rich rally heritage) Q7 is focused more on luxury and seating room. The Porsche, especially, is actually an off-roading monster.
