  • Dear god, what kind of world is it that America votes TWICE to elect a man so fucking stupid even Noam Chomsky thinks "he must be taught to mispronounce those words" as part of a big conspiracy??!!!!

    We're all fucked.

  • Does anyone know where this is from? full vid anywhere?

  • 1:19 Godwin's Law!!! Imperialism wins!

  • Chomsky for President

  • Bush really does speak like that and it's not an act. The only reason he got accepted to Yale was because of big poppa Bush.

  • @testiclecrusher2 Got to agree with you on that one. It's not often Noam says something so lacking of pre-thought, but he is allowed to sometimes!

  • What I love about him is that he makes no suppositions on how to solve the problems he presents. It's almost like he avoids saying for sure, "This is how to take care of this issue" because he wants people to understand the heart of the issue, at its deepest core, so that they'll make their own decision, and so that their decision will be more thoroughly understood and well-reasoned.

  • Bush is an idiot and he embarrassed himself, he wasn't acting. He talked that way at Yale and got a free ride because of who his daddy was. Like McCain he was a poor student and never would have seen the cockpit of an airplane if he wasn't extended favors.

  • I hate it when people put soundtracks to videos like these. Interesting topic though

  • whats with the 80s porn music in the background? Still worth watching though.

  • .reporting obvious truisms.

  • polarising?....not in the slightest. May SOUND "polarising" because we're so inundated with bullshit 24/7 that anyone speaking the truth every so gently is considered a problem maker...as all truthful critics throughout history have been considered polemicists. As a reaction alone to all the crap spewn out there, he or anyone would be justified. Chomsky on the other hand is incredibly restrained. Propagandizing? When you come back to planet earth we can have a serious discussion, he's just spea.

  • The core idea may be right but his language forces all the wrong conclusions. He is much better when he uses less polarising language and stronger images.

  • Read Edward Bernays - he is the father of propaganda.

BTW: I think it is funny that Chomsky is propagandizing while discussing propaganda. His political bias is obvious

  • How anyone cannot see the propaganda and mass media control is just blind, don't really need someone to point it out,but good to know someone speaking out about it,great video thank you.

  • I think Chomsky is more important than popular scientists like Dawkins because he exhibits ceaseless critical thought or the ability to see the coherency and cogency of a position without accepting it. The exhaltation of science or of reason or whatever, is secondary and fruitless. Whatever man puts his mind to, critical thought should be the rule.

  • I know he's a linguistics genius but he should really try to annunciate for fuck's sake.

  • Has programming the nation been banned? I cant find this documentary anywhere!

  • ive been saying it for a while...we were SUPPOSED to think bush was stupid. like chomsky says "i doubt he talked like that at Yale" its all a show folks...

  • This video has been edited. Find your info somewhere else.

  • How come every time I listen to Chomsky, I get light-headed? It's like I can feel my mind getting blown. Lmao

  • *THANKS* for uploading this interesting content !

    --

recorded (aired?) WHEN? and (taken from?) where?

(please provide more info! (preferably in the video's description))

  • That's what I thought about Bush's stupid English. He's a Yankee, for Chrissakes!

  • there should be more chomsky's

more bill hicks and george carlins

More John Taylor Gattos (look him up and read his book[s] ). People who expose simple truths and help us be aware and thinking.

  • @mikeisapro

absolutely..you d think that the truth should and aught to be known hej!

  • With the loss of Chomsky and people alike, the world will be more like in Idiocracy.

  • good video

  • It's like Deus Ex.

  • Remove the music track...

  • I listen obvjectively to what he is saying. And i have to admit he really communicates his ideas concisely. Personally i am a huge fan.

  • Search NLP+Noam Chomsky.

  • This is an interesting page:

Political Ecology 101 Modelling Noam Chomsky by Richard Bolstad

    Then search NLP+Common Purpose

  • Also, Bush could be a 14th generation clone and actually that dumb. You know he wasn't that much of a boob in college. Or if you listen to his speeches as Governor of Texas. I'm convinced it's not the same guy. I think the original got too into coke and booze and had to be "silenced". We've had cloning technology since the 40"s so who knows for sure that he isn't. Obama too for that matter. Cloned Akhenaten? Mummification preserves DNA viable for cloning. Akhenaten's mummy has never been found.

  • @AceOfHeart2012 hmmmmmmmmm hahahahahahaha

  • True story. Goebbels gave everyone in Germany transistor radios so they could listen to Hitler 'round the clock. That kept Hitler in everyone's heads and that's one of the main reason Naziism flourished. You know there had to be some "next level shit" being pumped out to the German people for them to amass in total lockstep with one man. WOW!!!

  • Noam Chomsky is intelligent, and is far too paternal. Grown adults have a brain whether they use it or not. The solution to propaganda is paying attention in a critical thinking class in college.

I know what he's saying, deception isn't moral, but it exists in the world. Deception is not going away no matter how much the society is altered, ultimately the less intelligent aren't going to thrive. And that's a natural circumstance, we can't change it.

  • I agree but to what extent is it intention by repitition in the end a chance and hope to overide critical thinking

  • That's a fair critique, doctorkozma. I didn't clarify myself regarding critical thinking. Believing the "broken record" is a fallacy. If I said, "the sky was florescent pink yesterday" eight times, one very easily manipulated person out of a crowd might say, "alright, that seems plausible" but it isn't so. I understand how it affects society, but education leads the horse to water, and if it doesn't drink what can be done? Then there are the uneducated that didn't go to the pool at all.

  • Yes, We live in a society that sadly lacks an interest in understanding issues that affect them. Dogma, preaching and all forms of indoctranation, whether out right lies or the new catchword "framing the issue" are routinely used to mislead the population. I do not consider the public stupid(although some are), merely misinformed. I do expect our parents and educators to encourage thinking I do not forgive churches corporations and politicians who use these tools and understand them very well.

  • @drkozma Parents and educators (K-12) have zero interest in encouraging thinking.Thinking for yourself and questioning things constitutes rebellion,it's considered stepping out of line.In the home/school environments you're punished for thinking, you're subjected to verbal and emotional abuse. No parent has the agenda of undermining their own authority.Teaching a child to question things would undermine their authority.Parents always believe that they know what's best and the child should follow.

  • @drkozma In the workplace, thinking for yourself and questioning things will quickly get a person fired. Schools are ripe with propaganda.By design the school system produces mindless sheep who will assimilate well into the work world.I wish I could agree with you that most ppl aren't dumb, they're simply misled but that is largely untrue. Most people struggle to comprehend and retain information. This reflects stupidity by definition. The fact that most ppl are stupid makes them easier to mislead.

  • @fukinblowme Agreed. Your definition of stupidity is spot-on and to the point. Most people confuse "ignorance" and "stupidity" frequently. I bet your one of the few on youtube who can even get that. I applaud you.

  • @riverlioness remember he is talking to americans

  • he's an anarcho-syndicalist

  • i could listen to chomsky speak all day -- what a mind!

  • why try to label chomsky? listen to what he says carefully. think critically about his ideas. above all, listen. dude's important.

  • ugh, just let him talk, don't intersperse the video with annoying video clips

  • F*cking annoying music

  • It's not a music video. I think you're Fucking annoying for such an ignorant comment.

  • Yes, it's not a music video, so keeping the music out of it would make more sense.

  • The sound is all screwed up in this video.

  • The best thing a bout Chomsky is he doesnt even stop to acknowledge the lunacy about Reps Vs Dems, Libs/Dems, Right/Left. He exposes them all for what they are.

  • Isn't it ironic that he is complaining about advertising which is the free exchange of facts and/or opinions while simultaneously pushing his own agenda by advertising his own opinions? What a douche...

  • Advertising based on what?

    Evidence and issue based

or hollow slogans and meaningless spark in the pan garble?

  • Hey, if you want freedom, especially freedom of speech, you need to be prepared for "hollow slogans and meaningless spark in the pan garble" it is their right to do so and to propagate that message through advertising mediums. Just as capitalism allows for greater knowledge and facts it also allows for a lot of useless garble. Deal with it that's freedom, it's not just your agenda or opinion that needs to be heard.

  • Brodie you put in something that he never said. He never stated that those people should be silenced. You invented that yourself. All he was doing was lecturing about their tactics.

  • overmind25

just wanted to ask why someone who admires libertarians like Ron Paul and the works of classical liberal thinkers like Locke, Jefferson & Paine is a supporter and admirer of Chomsky?

  • There are certain things I don't like about Paul all three of those you mentioned (Jefferson, Paul, and Paine) all had and have different views on a number of issues.

  • *Paul. All

  • Chomsky is a classical liberal.

  • Ha, no he isn't, he even says he is a libertarian socialist who sympathizes with anarcho-syndicalism.

  • He's said many, many times that he is probably one of the last *real* conservatives left, therefore, he is a classical liberal.

  • He argues against pornography but he doesn't call for legislation... Moral proselytizing isn't force. Disagreement isn't force. Debate isn't force.

  • Only in the sense that the market should only be allowed to reign where it does not oppress people. Which he says it does everywhere today.

  • liberal meaning that he is a "free thinking man" and somehow this is a bad thing?????

  • There is no need to comment on something unless you are informed about it; and you certainly aren't informed on Chomsky.

  • Propaganda is a coercive means a pushing an agenda were as advertising is the free exchange of information/opinions that encourage choice. Propaganda and advertising are NOT one in the same. Chomsky seems to view humanity as weak and unable to discern fact from fiction and make our own decisions on certain opinions. Everyone knows adverts contain deception, and if the deception is dramatic enough as to affect consumer confidence in the good or service then the seller will fail in the future.

  • You either are as dumb as you sound or think we are. Advertising is the free exchange of information/opinions: Truly Orwellian.

  • You can advertise information, opinions/ideas, deceit or truth. This is the beauty of freedom. Chomsky is rightfully advertising (selling) his opinions to us, just as corporations, books, teachers, parents and friends rightfully can. It is up to us as free & responsible individuals to discern the truth and to develop our own opinions/ideas through the diverse & free info that capitalism and a free society nurture.

socialistic totalitarian states are orwellian not capitalistic societies.

  • you have obviously never read orwell, he implicitly states that totalitarian regimes can arise in capitalist states and how they can arise.

  • Why are you applying for the position?

  • gosh I hope not..like a lot of guys ..I got conned into marrige - love & war in the same bed

  • Liberal, conservative, us, them , you!!! Arrrrghh!!! All this partisan crap makes my head hurt. Want to make a difference, go outside and pick up a bag of litter, help your neighbor, volunteer at the hospital...

  • yeah just leave government to those qualified.

sorry buddy but nothing you said is relavent.

  • just destroy the government...that is the solution ;-)

  • yeah ok useful idiot lol

I'll take his word over a lying, manipulative torturing Administration anyday thanks

I think its very entertaiing the way you can criticisze america a

  • amen.

  • Chomsky is very critical of the USSR.

  • You apparently have never actually listened to Chomsky speak at length. His main focus is not socialist but humanist and historical. He generally does not say things he has no evidence to back up. Your opinion of the EU is likewise distorted, especially considering that most of the EU nations are U.S. allies. And Chomsky does not attribute all Arab miseries to the U.S. That's a story you've made up for yourself so that you can hate the point of view of someone you know nothing about.

  • urm..... are you nuts or something?

  • whoever believes that Bush is truly a bumbling retarded are decieved and retarded themselves. It's an image: Clinton: the jazz-loving swingster, Reagan: the (grand)fatherly do-gooder etc.

  • so true it's frightening

  • essential. excellent stuff!
