  • Holy shit!

  • Wow that's a colorful consist of locomotives.

  • i only seen ICE,HLCX,FXE,NS and alot of BNSF,no FEC or anythin else.still a kickazz consist.

  • Wpic! bur ferromex is FXE

  • can you say overpowered?

  • AMAZING!

  • Wow unbelivibal lash up awsome catch!!!

  • I work for BNSF and I've never seen such a awesome consist. All the power moves I've been on have been all "big jacks". It looks like 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 are in RUN, and 4,5 and the rest are ISOLATED. All those BNSF SD40-2 are 2999HP. I can't say how the UP and the IC&E is rated at.

  • "UP SD60"

It would be HLCX (look at 0:16) in the left

  • WOW. Great catch!!!!!

  • Wonder what happens when it breaks down........ Would they call a helper? HeHe

  • first second is beast

  • Iowa Chicago and Eastern in California wow

  • Holy power move batman 0.o thats something you don't see everyday!

  • holy shit! lol

  • I would say this train is being pulled by 35000 hp

  • damn

  • Not all the engines are running. They are relocating engines

  • They are not all working......front 6 def are.

  • Holy Smokes! LOL

  • WOOOOOOOW THAT IS AWESOME DUDE!!!!!! 5*

  • How much horsepower do you think that is?

  • you mean ex-UP HLCX

  • Take THAT Al Gore!!

  • @BrodyFarmBoy a straight, well deserved sucker punch in the balls, id say

  • I wouldnt say the best lash-up ever, but deffinately one of their better ones I must say.

  • haha ICE on the BN nice power

  • The locomotives that don't have smoke coming out the exhausts could be running the traction motors, or could even be slugs with cabs. This could likely be the case for running that many locomotives over what appears to be level land. It's also possible that these locomotives are needed to pull trains in the opposite direction or other intersecting lines.

  • WOW

  • Talk about a good mix of power :-) Nice one...

  • Shit! I thought the vid would be like an hour with those lococs!

  • THIS IS AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • But they are not all pulling are they? Some of them seems to be turned off (look at the exhaust) but why would they put extra engines in between

  • Wow those SD40's are roaring over the GE's :D

Gotta love those SD40-2's. 5 Stars

  • now thats what i call a freight train lol

  • I love trains

  • BET HES OVER LOADED.

  • Weird to see a Ferromex in with US engines. :P

  • holy crap almost fell outa my chair

  • It would be funny if all they were pulling was onwe box car.

  • how about 14 units pulling a spine car..that would be hilarious

  • Couldn't have said it better myself

    Andrewsaxamophone

  • lmfao, the UP is smoking more than the DM&E XD. the werid thing is that 7 of the engines were on line

  • BNSF always overpowers their trains, but it's really cool!

    Great catch!

  • Holy Shit.

  • What a great mix there.

  • what a consist.some of the engines were really smoking.

  • Nice Lashup, 5 Stars

  • woah!

  • All those EMDs sound nice over those stupid GE units.

  • You just really can't shut the fuck up with EMD fanboyism can you?

  • a train only needs 2 or 3 locomotives why would any train have 12 locomotives

  • moving power, while the train!

  • @Trains232 Sometimes they will move locomotives around that way, going to or from a shop, new owners, etc. Judging by the lack of exhaust and heat waves on some of those locos, I would say some are dead (RR term for not under it's own power) in two.

  • holy crap, 12 LOCOMOTIVES!

  • that horn is beautiful

  • ahh, I thought SD60's had dynamic braking?

  • Is the third unit a snub nose SD-45?

  • it called a SD60

  • thats around 45,000 horsepower or so

  • closer to 50,000

  • @Trains232 Are all 12 units runnig if so why are some smoking and some aren't like if the ones that smoke are working harder than the others.

  • 2 or 3 of the units are isolated & not generating power.

    MW

  • I've seen a 10 loco lash-up on a CP train. This consist was awesome. Right time, right place sorta deal.

  • WOW! and you also get a meet with a stacker! damn this is a AWESOME VIDEO!

  • Great consist.

  • i'm speechless about this All I can say it great timing to railfan! Favorite for life:D

  • And BNSF say they're trying to make train more fuel efficent 12 units is the way to do it!!!! SWEET CONSIST!!!

  • Dude... 5*'s and a favorite*!

  • You got first place i the contest, Best lashup ever i think. But I'll favorite it and post it for everyone to see that hasn't looked, I'll start another one soon since I didnt get that much entree's, and this one will have a few i bet.

  • Judging by the exhaust, it looks like only the first half of those units are running. They others may just be in tow. I doubt they would need that much power for such a consist. Well, maybe if all of those tankers were full!

  • OMG!! thats insaine!! IC&E in CALIFONIA!! thats rare!

  • That was great 12 engines, That is something I look for all the time, but the most I have seen is 8. Great video!!!!!!
