The sound is distorted and the performance is so plodding, heavy-handed, fat and Romanticized.

YouTube has much better performances of the same piece. Try the one by the Leipzig.Thomanerrchor. It is far superior to this one. For one thing, there are no operatic womens' voices.

I agree with you. What part did you sing?. This 5 part choir is difficult. I was tenor.I'd rather play the organ!

By far the best reading of the entire Mass. Absolutely beautiful. By the way, to understand JS Bach a little better, I recommend Christoph Wolffe, excellent biography of Bach.  It's a must read!

credo che la parte dell'organo sarebbe meglio suonarla con tutte quelle parti staccate... con il suono lungo del coro, lo staccato da quasi senso di cosa "fuori traccia"
