  • i wish Linux was more supported

  • yes, it IS about time Linux got some publicity.

  • I like Linux because it is Linux!

  • Linux doesn't slow down over time like Windows.

  • good spots, dude!! i love them XD

  • wow nice video. seriously though the video is not the best but the narration is awesome.

  • Can I get some free beer!

    I love Linux :D

  • I like it because it is stable, secure and I don't have to worry about viruses or malware.

  • @eurohim: Not yet, but you will, I'm waiting for the time when malware and viruses start to attack Linux distributions, see if they can take the pressure Microsoft fails to defend themself for even today.

  • @MDxm3000 Well, with the way security works in *NIX and the tiny user base Linux has it will be a while.

  • @eurohim And it is good for porn:)

  • @eurohim what.... stable..! dont think so, man linux is stable as a server with no GUI installed, but as a home desktop user it's terrible crashes more than win 7 maby someday they will sort it out

  • Needs music, but otherwise great vid!

  • Hardy is a distro of Ubuntu. There are many other linuxes than Ubuntu. People should try them as well, they are all free :D

  • me too

  • And its greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

  • woah, wait, how did you do that?

  • Very Cool.

  • Well stated. Kudos!

  • Enjoy GIMP

  • I want games for Linux rather than Photoshop. Until then I guess I'm stuck with dual-booting and wine.

  • If you have spare cash you could shell out for Cedega or CrossOverOffice

  • Would consider it if I wasn't getting a Windows 7-license for free from school. I'm not that concerned over having to dual-boot. Rather it gives me a stricter line between leisure and schoolwork. :D

  • Say this: if for some reason GUI crashes under the Linux, that won't affect the system since it's only a user space process. You just kill it and start again. If same things happen in Windows....not good, even alt-ctrl-del won't help.

    Why do we use Linux?

It's a programmers natural enviroment. Everything is open and documented, great tools like Strace can help you understand how system works. You can see the process memory layout in /proc pseudo FS...nahhh...I could go like this forever.

  • Everything may be open, but very few programs are well documented. It's actually a serious issue that needs to be changed.

  • By documentation, I ment the system it self and standard Unix utilities. But Linux does not suffer from the lack of good documentation, but rather the lack of standardization. Something that SVR4 systems have very long.

  • GREAT video!

"I'm not Linux, Linux its me"

    I loved it!

  • so true..

  • Mmm...linux. I've been wanting to dabble, which kernel are you using?

  • Bravo, my friend. Bravo!

  • Better late than never.

  • Get your sushi on!

  • Hey John, nice work... can I add some music to it? I thought it could use just a touch -it'd make the whole commercial SLICK.

Love it, open, honest, normal.... no pretentious crap.

  • Nice :D(Y)

  • o snap! 5 stahhz

  • I use ubuntu and Linux mint on my two computers my self and I'm by no means a computer hacker geek.
