@eurohim: Not yet, but you will, I'm waiting for the time when malware and viruses start to attack Linux distributions, see if they can take the pressure Microsoft fails to defend themself for even today.
@eurohim what.... stable..! dont think so, man linux is stable as a server with no GUI installed, but as a home desktop user it's terrible crashes more than win 7 maby someday they will sort it out
Would consider it if I wasn't getting a Windows 7-license for free from school. I'm not that concerned over having to dual-boot. Rather it gives me a stricter line between leisure and schoolwork. :D
Say this: if for some reason GUI crashes under the Linux, that won't affect the system since it's only a user space process. You just kill it and start again. If same things happen in Windows....not good, even alt-ctrl-del won't help.
Why do we use Linux?
It's a programmers natural enviroment. Everything is open and documented, great tools like Strace can help you understand how system works. You can see the process memory layout in /proc pseudo FS...nahhh...I could go like this forever.
By documentation, I ment the system it self and standard Unix utilities. But Linux does not suffer from the lack of good documentation, but rather the lack of standardization. Something that SVR4 systems have very long.
i wish Linux was more supported

@MDxm3000 Well, with the way security works in *NIX and the tiny user base Linux has it will be a while.

I want games for Linux rather than Photoshop. Until then I guess I'm stuck with dual-booting and wine.

If you have spare cash you could shell out for Cedega or CrossOverOffice

Everything may be open, but very few programs are well documented. It's actually a serious issue that needs to be changed.
