green fiber SUCKS! thats why home depot and menards sell it and their machines are junk and not maintained. Just recently green fber REDUCED the size of their bags to ONLY 37.5 sq ft per R19!(was 40 sq ft) but the price stayed the same!
I'm in Minneapolis, MN. I just purchased 30 bags on sale at $3.35/bag down from $3.99 a bag at Mills Fleet Farm. Menards, Lowes and Home Depot ranged from $6.50 to $8.50. It really pays to shop around!
Pay very close attention to the coverage rates and whether they are including joists or not. including joists will increase the cover by 10% compared to a bag that does not include them. Also, look into whether the product is an all-borate or an ammonium sulfate blend. Blends will be cheaper but you could run into ammonia smells and possible corrosion. It is best to stay with an all-borate product.
Shopping around is definitely the smart thing to do, over here in the UK you can save a lot by looking into more specialised distributors than the major home improvement stores
@frostkingdelux I just bought 40 bags of Green Fiber @ Lowes for just under $10 per bag. I got a 10% discount because I have a Lowes Commercial account. While I see that perhaps I could have bought a similar product for less somewhere else, I got the use of the blower machine for free. Plus, Lowes is within 5 miles of the job site. And the service there was great. I live in the San Jose, CA area.
I'm sad. Home Depot in Saskatoon SK, Canada is selling the Green Fibre for $14.99/bag.

That greenfiber is $11.15 for a 20 sq ft (22.55 lbs) in NJ. The cost in the vid was $6.57. Are things really that much cheaper away from the NY area?
