@corvette6698512 i tore it down and found my number 3 piston skirt was laying in the oil pan it was a pain in my butt to fix but i got her back on the road thanks for the video btw the wrist pin was fine just the skirt was broke off
thanks dude i try that on mine and thats what it done so now i'm fixing to tear in to my motor i done got all the parts needed to do it "time to get dirty"
How does your engine keep going smoothly with one cylinder not firing? Mine gets all chuggy, which I don't like to have running long in case something else goes wrong...
I've had a noise like that for almost seven months. Its louder at cold start and gets quieter as the engine warms up. Also gets even quieter after pushing the engine hard for a few minutes. I'm hoping its a wrist pin, seems like a bearing would have kicked the bucket by now.
Its kind of hard to tell in the video, but it has a strange double knock. Thats what a mechanic buddy of mine told me. He said hes heard it before, and its always been a wrist pin.
that could have also been piston slap, or the rod bearing... yep, that's an old mechanic trick to isolate non main-bearing issues.

Wrist or rod doesn't matter, it is time for a tear down either way.

how do you know if it is a rod bearing or a wrist pin? Everyone I have talked to says you have to take apart the motor to find out.

a spun rod bearing will ALWAYS sound no matter during light load or no load.
a wrist pin sounds during light load or heavy load.
