I'm building a 1970 mustang. My car was a 351/c6, then a 302 with an 871 blower and c6. Now I'm hoping to install a 428 and a t-5. The car has come along way from where it was and have spent a small fortune($10 k) in metal restoration and parts and I've done most of everything. So Im building it to be a sleeper, yet look 100% stock. Should I re install the cage, add a roll bar, or skip them both? Thanks for your advice.
I saw your gto on a transport truck while I was leaving long beach in my 1972 corvette stingray and I flew past the truck and got on the brakes and noticed your gto(is this the only one? If not then it was a double) and I was reminded of my dads previous goats. I also thought I saw what looked like bullet holes on the driver door, am I correct?
@monstermash1978 -- like the OLD saying goes: speed is just a question of money, how fast can you afford to go! -- truth be told, the reason fastbacks are so rare, they have NO reward visibility, they ALL were crashed, If you want a 'driver' a fastback IS NOT the car to have! -- I know I own both --
I first did this over 10 years ago with a 1967 Coupe and a 1968 Junker, I gave $300 for the Coupe and $200 for the fastback. I used new Quarters. It is not that hard really if you have basic automotive knowledge. I switched the roof in a week end and by 2 weeks the car looked like a stock fastback. I was younger then and didn't have a very good shop to work in.
my comment .thirty years of custom work and custom cars. i say weigh it out, if you can weld and do body work and have lots of time and patience you can do anything you want to do to a car.your mind is the limit, later CUSTOM AL

I wonder where you go to get drivers door glass cut to fit that fastback behind him.

Seems like coupe into convert would be pretty hard too. Adding bracing and everything. Poor little coupes no one loves them for what they are.

Great Video-
I'd take your advice and buy an old fastback that needs resto rather than try to convert a coupe !
