Other drugs release chemicals in your brain and allow different states of thinking and create activity in parts of the brain that are normally dulled and unused. My point though, is that there is a fine line between having fun and overdoing it. Drugs don't kill people, irresponsible actions and a physical dependency does.

"Funny" & "Articulate" don't always go hand in hand...........great Comedy requires a sense of comedic timing, personality & DELIVERY.........all things that Greg excelled at. The thing that makes Giraldo special and separates him from other comics is his delivery. If stand-up comedy is an art form, then delivery is the most important tool. If I were a comic, then I would take great delivery over great material every time. It should be understood that material needs to be of high quality in order to be successful.

It's so hard for me to laugh when I was Greg Giraldo's roasts nowadays because it's depressing when you come to the realization that you'll never ever see this level of comedic talent again...RIP Greg :(

@LilRanDy920 Yes. In September 2010 due to a drug overdose. He was in a coma 2-3 days before he passed. It's really sad. He was a superb comic with such talent. :(

The thing that makes Giraldo special and separates him from other comics is his delivery. If stand-up comedy is an art form, then delivery is the most important tool. If I were a comic, then I would take great delivery over great material every time. It should be understood that material needs to be of high quality in order to be successful.

@mbro7612 I agree. And this is why I think Greg is better than Jeff Ross (who is also good). Ross' delivery feels forced and slow at times. Greg's timing is unparalleled.

But on the flip side, Larry (for better or worse) is one of the most popular comedians of all time, and Hasselhoff has been a big success as well. So there's that.

Here's an indisputable fact: Greg Giraldo had an absolutely BRILLIANT comedic mind! I've stated that many times when he was here on Earth with us......this isn't an "after the fact" assessment. Watching the Donald Trump "roast" reminded me STRONGLY of the expression "You don't know what you've got until it's gone". It's absolutely ridiculous that it took Greg's absence from the Trump "roast" to remind people just how great this guy was....they should have reached that conclusion LONG beforehand.
