  • 0:28 "DILDOO" :D

  • @Rockman19pl what. sound's nothing close. If anything, 'devor'.

  • @PonyGaming1 'devour'. really? a little sens of humor?

  • @Rockman19pl no... -.- lol just no

  • I want this song to play in the credits of a really dark and gritty zombie movie. Or better yet a zombie game.

  • I spawned the furies, but i received an arrow to the knee...

  • Trivium & In Flames tomorrow with Rise To Remain, Ghost & Insense in Manchester! Cannot wait!!!!!!! TRIVIUM 4 LIFE

  • "Wreathed with serpents

    Eyes dripping blood

    Winged tormentors of criminaaaaaaaaaaaals"

That part must have been the most heaviest thing ive heard in a while!

    Fuck Yes! \m/

  • he who spawned the furies, served the genitals of his father.....wtfffff

love trivium but fuck they got weird lyrics..lol

  • @TheBammaboy666 It's greek mythology. Cronus severed the genitals of Uranus with a scythe, casting his testicles into the sea. From the white foam on the sea emerged the goddess of love, Aphrodite, and from the blood that spilled out from Uranus and fell upon the earth emerged Erinyes (Furies). He (Cronus) who spawned the furies (Erinyes). TRIVIUM FUCKING AWESOME.

  • Looks like 8 people are going to have a "accident."

  • Epic title for an epic song for an epic band. The plot thickens.

  • i used to hate this song. but now i just cant get enough of it

  • i bought the album mainly due to this song. i regret nothing.

  • Yeah what TheBeastKing22 said is correct. Zeus was raised in a cave that in mythology said that it was on Crete. After he was grown up he battle with his brothersand sisters against the Titans in the well known Titanomachy where the 5 children won the war and exiled all the Titans except ,Gaia I think, to Tartarus. Before that Zeus cut off the genetic organs of his father to be sure that his father wouldn't give birth to annother offspring.

  • @opisdio No, Cronus castrated Uranus and cast his genitals off into the sea, creating Aphrodite and other nymphs. Zeus was born and hidden in a cave on Crete by his mother Rhea, while she gave Cronus (who had eaten all of his previous children with Rhea) a stone wrapped in clothing which he swallowed. Once Zeus was old enough, he tore open his fathers stomach, releasing his siblings and they, along with the Gigantes and Cyclopes that Zeus released fought the Titans in the Titanomachy.

  • I blacked out when the part of the solo with the wah-wah effect started

  • dendendendendendendenden

  • There NEEDS to be a song with a breakdown like this on In Waves.

  • This song lets me reminisce back to my baby-eating days (:

  • fuck ya metal for life

  • Best song from Trivium in my opinion. Something just too beast about it.

  • actually, just the beginning is talking about Chronos Devouring his children to avoid his overthrow, Gaea, mother earth, hid Zeus away and swaddled a stone instead, zeus then came back and castrated Chronos and, either killed or condemned him, i forget which. anyways, crazy song, I love it!

  • @TheBeastKing22 No no no. Mother Earth (Gaia) and Uranus (The Sky) bore Chronos. Chronos then castrated his father. He in turn had five children, and Zeus was the fifth. Raia was Zeus's mother, as well as Hera's, Demeter's, Poseidon's, and Hades. Chronos had swallowed each child, and Raia hid Zeus away, instead feeding Chronos a stone layered in a potion that forced him to throw up all the swallowed children. Zeus then condemned him.

  • beastly fucking solo

  • SPINE CHILLS WHEN HE SINGS 'EATING ME...' FOR THE LAST TIME

  • I wonder if i can get a shit ton of likes......

  • @ThatisWAYoffTheHook Talk about how shitty justin bieber is, or how 269 people are going to do something to 7 people. I think that's how it's usually done.

  • @JTNorquay hmm usually

  • @JTNorquay haha howed you know? oh ya thats right it on every music page lol that made me laugh

  • glad to see many people know about greek mythology

  • probably the gayest verse ever, but most brutal pre-solo breakdown ever.

  • Easily the best song on the album

Can't wait for the new one!

  • why isnt Trivium the thememaker of all god of war parts?

    trivium rulez!

  • @at0mic1188

It can't be Zeus because Zeus wasn't born this time.

  • "Raped or knighted"

  • @chspittinfire I already hate other metalheads so that's not much more of a problem for me. Yay more idiots to hate. XD

  • 2:55 "WATCH THEM PEE BLOOD" lol. Trivium ftw.

  • @oteat Because Greek mythology is epic and there are so many stories that they could write about.

  • @chspittinfire this is my other profile on youtube...

i absolutly agree with what you're saying... when i first heard Atreyu on the radio in corpus cristi, texas i was upset, because it's just a select few of us that can relate with each other by listening to this genre of music. i don't have to watch that video to understand, (but i will anyways) that if everyone listened to this then how are we different and have a sence of individuality. :)))) haha

  • I have to thank Trivium for getting me in to metal. But I have to say, Shogun is probably their only decent album.

  • They combined a guitar solo with a breakdown and made it sound so fucking sick!!

  • whaaaaaaa!!!! why is this so epic... com on suber song! über!! :D

  • 2:13 Sickest shit ever =DDD

  • @Nighthawk2006 yes very sick

  • @oteat the album is mostly based on mythology. matt nerded out on on the topic before writing lyrics you see :D

    still pretty epic :D

  • Hello there fellow Metalheads.

Instead of a Metal Rebellion I propose a new plan

1.Instead of bashing other metal artists, we need to UNITE! We Can't Fight Against pop music if WE aren't even Together!

2.Watch more and other metal videos to get it to the top of the youtube vidoe list

3.Instead of bashing pop, promote metal with logical reasons, not just "METAL RULES"

If you like this idea, thumbs it up JUST so people can see it, and also spread it around if you like this idea

  • 2:12 - 2:24, I just recently got that part on drums with about 95% consistency.......the rush of energy you get and the "holy shit I'm playing it" that goes through your head is fucking ridiculous.

  • @Calibur43 sounds like the hardest part is just getting to speed with the double kicks.

  • @Calibur43 its a bitch to play haha ive been trying really hard and im getting there. how long did it take u?

  • @blobertisoriginal Well I have been playing really a solid 3 years of double bass, I feel like I'm getting pretty close to being able to immediately start like 200BPM of doubles right when I want to, but I still have my stumbles and hiccups, starting in is the hardest for me. This breakdown took me about 30 minutes when I really started playing it. It is 196BPM I believe. My foot technique sadly has NEVER conformed to a single technique, but I usually do heel up reflex.

  • @Calibur43 yeah ive only been doing double bass for a year but i can start off at 120BPM on a good day haha. but my single bass is what im good in because i can hit an 80BPM triplet no problem. what pedals do u have though? i have DW 7000s

  • @blobertisoriginal I have had the same Pearl P-122s forever, pretty much a starter pedal. I want Pearl Eliminators or DW 9000s in the future. Just don't have the money.

  • @Calibur43 dont waste ur money on pearl eliminators, they are way too much and only good if you like super loose tension. i say get some DW9000s

  • @blobertisoriginal I will consider that advice thank you, yeah they always seemed like just a TAD above my pedals, so I'm gonna save for 9000s

  • @Calibur43 i played on some 9000s once and pearl eliminators and the 900s were just so smooth with a little heavier beater for the momentum. i want some so bad

  • Wyjebisty refren, wyjebany w kosmos po prostu. Daj kurwa łapkę w góre !

  • this is so my fav by them, it makes my undies sticky

  • i seriously did not know matt heafy could scream like this TRIVIUM!!!! \m/

  • and then you listen to shogun and realize just how much power trivium have......im pretty sure predators and chuck norris listen to trivium while they work out and practise stabbing.

  • why did he spawn the furries? shits gay

  • 6 people did not spawn the furies

  • @Thatwhiteguyinga

    I hate rating jokes -.-

  • @moory33 ill be sure to never do another just to keep you happy.

  • At the end,the vocals at the end it sounds like metallica

  • they should sing about kratos(god of war)

  • @3286headshot If I'm not wrong.. Shattering the Skies Above is about the God of War game. At least so I think. And this song is about Chronos :P

  • @MegaNekke actually i think its uranos

  • @3286headshot Well there are a few "things" this song tells: Chronos who cut of Uranos' doodle, the actual doodle as it spawned the Goddess of Love, and the swallowed children are the children of Chronos and that other titan. Those being: Hades, Poseidon, Zeus etc. etc.

And if you meant the Shattering the Skies Above being from Uranos.. gotta check :P

  • @MegaNekke Actually the song is just inspiried by the game itself. I saw the "Making Of" video of it. Really awesome.

  • @RikkudoSennin the "making of" video is actually for "Shattering the Skies Above" not this song

  • IT WAS ALL KRATOS!!!!!!!!!

  • can some1 please explain this story 2 me behind the lyrics

  • @negrijuice the whole shogun album is derived from greek mythology, if you do a little research on it it's actually pretty badass. basically, a dude tried to kill all his sons so he would stay in power, but then his wife hid one of them and he later came back and ripped the dudes balls off. lol

  • @LonewolfxJDR Chronos

  • @LonewolfxJDR Chronos. He was a titan. The child his wife hid was Zeus. But Hades and Posedian are his brothers. Id have to look up the offical story but that's as far as i know.

  • @LonewolfxJDR It was Chronos who castrated his father, not Zeus. The song does not speak about killing Chronos. Cheers! :)

  • @at0mic1188 No sir, it was Cronus, not Chronos. Chronos is the personification of time, while Cronus is the titan son and castrator of Uranus.

  • @Witchbirth Sorry if I messed it up with the spelling a little bit, but in Greek it sounds the same, whether it's "Ch" or "C". So, that's what I meant. And yes, you're right.

  • @Witchbirth "castrator of Uranus" LAWL

  • @at0mic1188 it was Cronus. Chronos was before the titans. Chronos is just time.

  • @at0mic1188 actually cronos was afraid of zeus because of a prophecy he heard that he would be overthrown.... and cronos's father was ouranos(sky)

  • @LonewolfxJDR Not just greek, it was also based on japanese mythology as well. Down From The Sky is about the bombing of Hiroshima, it's a very culturally diverse album. Love it.

  • haha i should recommend this song to every English teacher Ive ever had they'd have a field day with all the Greek mythology references

  • oceanus was the castrated father.

  • @TheKhaos1911 noo....Oranus was...cause theyre talking about Cronus and his father, wich is Oranus...

  • @zhu43 no, 'with scycle in hand' thats cronos. 'devoured his children whole' thats cronos again. 'the devoured'. thats zeus, poseidon and hades. nowhere does it mention oceanus.

  • fuck me 2:12 is brutal :)

  • 2:02 till 3:10 . Eargasm O_O

  • just heard bout these guys from a friend, didn't know what I was missing!

  • Shogun is definately the best album.

  • This song creeped me out the first time I heard it...

now its my absolute favorite on the album.

  • 3 things i would like to point out 1:im kinda confused as to wether or not new people are in the band because it just sounds completely different from ember and ascendancy,2:their lyrics are so fucking complex,i cant even begin to make sense of it,and 3:anybody who has nothing better to do than come here and attempt to inslut one of the greatest metal bands, well, see how many more chicks they can get =)nuff said

  • @117tvirus on this album, the line-up was exactly the same as it was on ascendancy

  • @wondersnitzel its just that it sounds differeent and i watched the vid for down from the sky and iw as like,"who is that dumbass singing?he looks fucking dumb as hell with long hair",but completely different sound is basically what i was confused about

  • @117tvirus Just read up on some greek mythology, then you'll understand the lyrics =P

  • good job mate good job

  • I LOVE THIS SONG TRIVIUM FOR LIFE :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:DD:D:D best band ever

  • gah 2:13 gets me everytime. man thats good stuff

  • when i say this i mean it in the most humorous way possible, but they seem to mention guys junk a lot...........but its trivium no fucking way btw like 2:35 is fucking intense for like 6 seconds

  • This song just has an overall creepy vibe. And then the riff at 2:04 hits. and you're like, wtf? and then Trivium just kicks you in the face with their metal. then when the epicness is over, you're not sure if you were raped or knighted. but it just feels so good.

  • @JTNorquay Lmao, couldn't have said it any better mate.

  • @JTNorquay That's called a breakdown.

  • @A7X1ROLZ Actually it's a bridge, but nice try on the smart ass approach bro.

  • @JTNorquay

Can be the same thing, bro. But I'm not going to start a pointless argument. You win.

  • @JTNorquay have you ever been raped or knighted?

  • @ChairmanYin On multiple occasions.

  • @JTNorquay best comment ive ever read in my lfie XD.

  • @117tvirus I am glad to have entertained you :D.

  • @JTNorquay im glad to be entertained :D!.

  • @JTNorquay that was the most metal description ever.

  • @JTNorquay trivium is genius and holefully they have more metal to kick me in the face this summer when i go to see them! :) hail trivium!

  • @JTNorquay Seeing as how Im not an Knight, I'll assume I was raped.

  • @00dudette0o But it was so worth it.

  • He who spawned the furies severed the genitals of his father creating such beauty the goddess of love but the blood that fell to the ground made the erinyes...

    Best part

  • @Coheednmadness they seem to mention guys junk im kinda scared.....................

  • Cronos(Father Sky), ruler of the universe, was told that one day, his children would overthrow him. So he ate every child born to him by his wife, Mother Earth. Posiedon and Hades were devoured. Zeus was hidden from Cronus by Mother Earth, who fed Cronus a wrapped rock instead of Zeus. She then stole Cronus's stone Sicle and gave it to Zeus. Zeus Slew Cronus with the only weapon able to harm him, freeing his brothers and all that cronus had eaten. Thus Zeus ascended to be the King of the Gods.

  • @ConanFallon That is the gist of the myth, I am noticing gaps in my recollection, but I think what is there is about right. I can't remember where the other gods came from and what happened to the other titans, or Mother Earth(I think she just became passive and stops appearing in mythology.

  • @ConanFallon they mention guy junk too much i try to say it in a funny way but keep fucking up so for all who read this i love trivium to death but maybe they should kinda..........ya know.......talk about chopping off titties?

  • @117tvirus Its about Cronus in like Greek Mythology or something, and he cut off his dad's junk, creating more gods,""the furies" and Zeus was one of them and he overthrew cronus

  • @1666DevilliveD6661 still though, why couldnt it be chopping off a tittie?just curious is all

  • @1666DevilliveD6661

Well. Kronos castrated his father Uranos. And the blood of Uranos' junk, the "blood that fell to the ground" made the "furies", a kind of goddesses of vengeance. Kronos feared to be overthrown by his own children, so he ate them all: "...these eyes can hardly see what is eating me". But when Zeus was born, Rhea (the wife of Kronos) hid him in a cave and gave a stone to Kronos instead of the child. Kronos ate the stone and believed it was his son.

  • @1666DevilliveD6661

But Zeus grew up without being in danger and one day, he overthrown his father and forced him to spit out all the children he ate. The stone that he ate (instead of Zeus) was coming out, too. Zeus placed that stone on Delphi, a city in ancient Greek, so the mortal could observe it.

All in all, the song is about Kronos, fearing to be overthrown by his own children like he did with his own father, so he is eating them all to prevent that.

  • @ConanFallon Makes me want to play God of War 3

  • @Coheednmadness makes me wanna play hitman blood money

  • great band!

  • this song is about Cronos (father of Zeus, Hades and posiedon) eating his own son, Posiedon, and is a fucking badass song

i LOVE that line, and it sounds cool the way he sings it :D

    trivium<3

  • This song is THE POOP!

  • entilted shogun, but has nearly no japanese influence besides Kirisute Gomen. It is all greek mythology in this album.

  • @AudienceKiller66 and??? lady gaga's pokerface doesnt have nothing to be whit poker

  • @elvidaluzal I'm sorry I wouldn't know what lady gaga's music is about. That's why i'm talking about trivium. And I wasn't making a deal out of it, I was just stating the fact.

  • You know that a lot of people have like.. their albums named after the songs.. I think Shogun is one song from Trivium :D

(Master of Puppets for example from Metallica, the only song which is about.. well it ain't about puppets.)

  • Omg, that was one badass breakdown!

  • anyone else think its odd that the album is titled shogun, but a lot of the songs are about greek mythology, and a shogun (i believe) has something to do with the Japanese army or something

  • @jessbpowers Shogun is a person of command in the time of the samurai, above a samurai but below an empire. So yes, it is a little strange that the title is based on Japanese culture and most of the songs are about Greek mythology. But, they're trivium, they do what they fucking want.

  • @jeremya7xxx i was just making a statement, i agree they ARE trivium and they can do what they want

  • @jeremya7xxx

in modern day Monarchy's you can compare it to the prime minister and the king of a certain country, the king being the emperor in the japanese times and the prime minister being the shogun, the ministers and chairmen being the samurai

  • @tecna64 Well 2 songs are a
