Thank you so much for posting this! I LOVE The Yardbirds-Keith had such beautiful vocals. I wish I could travel back in time to see such great groups in their prime.
NEVER seen Beck play an acoustic, let alone a 12-string - great to see, but glad he didn't make a habit of it, except for his brief showstopper with an low-tuned Telecaster 12-string during the Jeff Beck Group and in the 70s with a Fender Electric XII and stuff like Love is Blue, Love is Green and Greensleeves
I like the sound of Keith's voice when it is live. It has more of a raw quality to it. It seems that he is more free whe he is live, rather than on the albums.
Keith was a beautiful man with a beautiful voice God Bless his sweet soul. I hope he knows whereever he is how many new fans he's made over the generations since his day-and he is smiling.. :)
it looks like the good people at shindig replaced the version the yardbirds did earlier in '65 live on shindig over the actual audio they got from this concert if you find the shindig for your love you'll see as well as drejas rough playing at :44 doesnt make any affect
This is a much more vibrant performance than the stilted one for the telly! The Yardbirds (Dreja and Carty, at least) are appearing at Colne R&B Festival next month. Keep on rockin' chaps!
Oh that's right! At the time I read that, I hadn't yet read that J. Hawken had joined them. But that's all good! Watching and hearing "Tobacco Road", and other songs by the Nashville Teens, I liked their work!
With J. Hawken being their "piano man", I like his work by extension! He was in the group founded by McCarty and Relf when Yardbirds broke up, Reniassance?
I personlly think that Jim M. can sing real good, he could take some of the vocal chores himself! Has he ever considered it?
ohhhhhh awesome! i am mesmorized! yeah!

Do you know if they found a new singer to take John Idan's place? Idan was really good, he sounded a lot like Keith, but with a quality of his own.
I know he wanted to go out on his own with a new solo album. Although I hated to see him leave the band, I do wish him well out on his own.
I also heard that J. McCarty was going to make an album with ex-animal Hilton Valentine. That ought to be good!

...and John Hawken! ;-)
No,I'm afraid that, to this day, a new replacement hasn't been found yet!...

He already performs one number lead on most of all of the late yardbirds performances!... ;-)
