I was there. There was no cutter, there was an ice breaker 20-30 miles out earlier in the week. The crack has been there all winter, it froze over the last really cold snap but may have only been 3-4 inches thick. The warm strong wind caused the crack to re-open and spread. It was nowhere near 50 degrees.

Yes i admit i was wrong on the cutter. I had heard from what i thought was reliable source but i guess it wasnt so reliable. There must have been a week section between West sister and the shoreline that gave way to make the ice move like it did. All the guys that had atvs and sleds could have got off themselves if they would have just folowed the crack down 7-8 miles. I know of several groups that did that.

the whole lake was frozen solid until the coast gaurd ice breaker came and broke it up they are all trying to cover it up trust me i live on an island in lake erie the ice was like 16 inches thick so they arent retarded the coast gaurd is retarded

Well test and Kill if either of you even knew anything about ice formation and what it takes to melt it once it is formed you wouldn't be making your uneducated remarks. For both of you idiots the reason the ice moved was because of the 30 mph offshore winds that they had that day and not from the one day of warm weather.  I knew there was a chance of that happening and that is why i chose not to fish there that day.
