Thank you so much.... I have been trying to read my way through a pattern as well as watch videos.... You had the entire explanation in less than a minute... way to go... less is more
Hi Ruthie, thank you for you clear explanation of this pattern. I have a question, for a baby blanket, how long should the chain be that I start with?
Hey Ruthie! That's absolutely lovely! Just what I've been looking for... I just started to crochet (like, yesterday!), and I'm already in love with it,. Was looking for a first blanket project and this is exactly what I had in mind! Thanks for sharing! :)
This is my favorite pattern to crochet also. Like you said once you get started you don't have to even think about it or really even worry about counting to much. I have made several blankets with this pattern. It's a perfect pattern for beginning crocheters. I love all the different colors you used in yours.
@dankimforde try a size J or K ... I think J is better but you can choose any hook depending on how big you want it or if you would like it for a baby or for your bed or sofa. @RuthieAppleby
You know, I just subscribed to this channel. Because...........you seem to be so happy and enjoying yourself! :) I love to crochet and love to watch rather than reading a pattern. You make it so easy and fun. Just wanted to let you know ! Thanks and take care! God Bless! Carla
Ruthie-Did you do any decreases as you made this blanket? I started with 23 and then did 46 but wound up with too many extra doubles or too many extra chains. Can you start from the beginning with your chains and then show us how to work from there? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! Your blanket is so pretty and very nice to work but I just can't get it quite right! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@7mamabird I do 13 double crochets then skip 2 then do 13 and double crochet 3 in the top whole. and go down 13 then skip 2 stitches...then on and on...hope this helps :)
I have made one blanket just like yours and am working on a second one (smaller ones) but I was wondering how you did the ends and beginnings of the rows. If I don't skip stitches, I end up having more and the edges aren't strait. Can you explain how you do the ends in a little more detail? Thanks
@tealdeal213 yes... I kind of just fudge when I go down or up on the ends if I have too many I skip or if I have not enough I add a stitch. Hope this helps.
Can you show a video of how to do the pattern. Once you get the foundation started, how do you get the length long enough for a blanket? Is it possible to do the zig zag without making chains?
@crowdelu no you have to do the chains... I need to make some more videos of the beginning to help out those who would like to learn this. Thank you for the suggestion. I really want you to be able to do this. Ruthie
