The cutscenes are amazing, but the thing that kinda ruins it for me is the gameplay....i admit...i suck at that metroid game...its because of the whole gameplay i mean like i died with 4 or 5 shots from a mini boss and the shooting and the targeting are awkward to handle... i mean the controls are really weird as well...maybe it was just destiny that i actually am really good at the GC and WII primes....i do hope they update it and add new things on the 3DS the game looks promising .

@mehpipi He was talking about the "First Hunt" versions which came bundled with Nintendo DSs when they first came out. That was the demo of the full game. That being said, I don't think this game is being sold new anymore since it came out in 2006 (5 years ago), so the only place you would find it at Gamestop would be in the used section. IT should be pretty easy to find the full version online, though.
@mehpipi I really don't know because I haven't owned it in a while. There are probably at least a few, but I don't know if it would be enough to make the experience varied and enjoyable. People still played the original Xbox Live up until it closed, and there are even people still playing online Dreamcast games on private servers, so there's definitely an online audience for old games. I wouldn't know what to tell you for sure, though.
Deep and impressive? I'm sorry, but this game was lackluster at best. It's a shame too because the three main Prime games are still good (yes, even Prime 2 is good).
While this may never happen (due to them being done with the prime series), I would like to see a major remake that really updates this game...for the 3DS.

@b1gbudda When you're on the main menu at the bottom right there is a symbol with a picture of two circles and underneath it says options. Click on it and the 2nd option is controls. I miss that game, I beat it 100% then got bored and completed the other Prime games. However, every now and then I play it and it brings back so many memories.
@TheJaws99 Because they don't need to; the purpose of graphics in a game is to compensate for shortcomings in the game itself; that's why games like Halo and Call of Duty need to have really good graphics, while games like Metroid and Zelda don't.

not only were the graphics awsome but the gameplay was practically a PC fps game. multiplayer was epic with so many different kinds of characters/ maps/ weapons.

@redbuck82 you can adjust the controls so you can use a,b.x,and y to look around, and the d-pad to walk around. thats what i do, and it feels a lot more natural
Certain parts you have to escape within a time limit. But other then that no you can take as much time as you need. Multiplayer is usually timed but when I play with friends I set it to 60 mins so it is really not a problem
@Snakeater222 Not every level is timed, there are timed sequences (it IS a Metroid game, after all) but they add to the experience. Definitely worth getting if you can get used to the controls.
i still haven't beaten it cuz my L button stoped working the other day and my t-screen is slightly scratched and everything goes off on the side *sigh*

I think it'd be really cool if they remade this great game for the Wii. A couple of adjustments would be to be more creative with the boss fights (it was just Cretaphid and Slench over and over again) and to make it a bit longer.
I had been looking for one at gamestop for like 2 months and yesterday I found one, it was definately the hardest game I've ever tried to find other the the world ends with you... which I still can't find.
actually they added camera, built in memory for storing games, an SD slot, full internet, and changed the interface as well as making the screen larger. and it $160

1.you cant use the cool poowers of enemy's charge blast
2.after intense battle with a boss u have to run out of a huge map in limited tim
3.maybe its cuz im not a great gamer (actually im not) but levels look bit too dificult

For a portable Metroid Prime it really wasnt that bad, it still had the same core gameplay, albeit a little bland.

Well it has alot of great reviews and im a noob as far as Metroid goes But i want good ds games. I have super mario bros geometry wars scribble nauts legend of zelda phantom hourglass and how Brain age check .

It is a good game for DS but its not really a metroid game. Metroid games always been focusing on a great story and single player while this one is focused on multiplayer. Like i said it is a good game but the real metroid are REALLY GREAT games =P

the graphics are very impressive if u compare them to a gameboy advance which was one generation of handhelds ago, ppl are forgetting that this is a handheld, and are comparing it to PS3 grpahics =P

In fact, I honestly think the DS has WAY better graphics than even the 64, which is amazing considering the small size of the cartridges.

I think it'd be really cool if they remade this great game for the Wii. A couple of adjustments would be to be more creative with the boss fights (it was just Cretaphid and Slench over and over again) and to make it a bit longer.

yea it's a very awesome game but modern day ppl don't pay attention to the quality of handheld games, they are much too focused on the flashy graphics of the modern day consoles to actually realize how fun the gameplay on most handheld games is... nowadays it's all about graphics and not very much about gameplay anymore.

@Exxile400 I played this around the time is was getting games like GTA4 and shit and i loved this game more, it really was awesome, people do have to give Portable games a chance, NFS Carbon Own The City on PSP was good cause it was like an ulternate version of Carbon, if i didn't give it a chance i would never had come to play all the way through it and enjoy every moment.

sorta agree w u. handhelds r stereotypically immature things 2 have 4 people over 30. granted i am not over 30 n well channeled my energy to more productive career oriented goals n 1 pass time is collecting helps n spawns new hashed ideas into making something original. a.d.d. doesnt help. but i do hav a handheld n see the perspective as handhelds for people under 20. as DS n wii r two platforms n aged consumers. most people hav other things going on w out the need of another handheld device.

Some of the ds games are actually more fun than the higher quality console games. oh yeah and plants vs zombies, one of the best games ever made, is actually 2D like most DS games and doesnt focus of graphics. Thats an example right there of a good game not focusing on graphics too much. its comming to DS also, i cant wait
