  • i found that same IR light but cant seem to figure out how u would be able to go outside cuz the adapter that u buy separetly needs to be plugged in to the wall.... plz help P.S i love your vids and i was gonna do the same setup just with a different camera. thx

  • 10 rats have watched this video.

  • So do you use thetelephoto on the scope OR the camera - when you want to get close up? If the camera - then cool - because nightvision rifle scopes can only get so close.

  • hi buddy

just to say love the vids i have a nightshot cam i wanted to know what rings i need i have a 3-9x50 scope also is that a bit of rubber hose

  • Out Freaking Standing

  • I have the same camera , how do u turn on the night vision??

  • Thank you for you didn't add stupid musics to your video !!!

  • cool.smart.clever

  • So is it really the IR light that gives you the potential to make a night vision camcorder?

Could you use the IR light separately from the camcorder and still record it?

  • you could sell the setup to skateboarders if you mounted a fisheye theirs tons you can do with that camera setup

  • glad you showed it working

  • im guessing so me can spot light deer

  • nice

  • WoW a Pro!^^ ...

  • Great setup man! :D

  • great idea,

  • Geniues!

  • LOL

  • LOL

  • Nice stuff

  • Please tell me how do you charge the ir???

    With bateries???

    Nice vid

  • HELP; Whats is an IR light do? Whats the purpose?

  • @DFPFTW Hi it is infra red light running at about 800-850nm, in other words its is a like that can not be seen by the naked eye as bit like ultra high pitch sounds that ears cant hear! IR light is used to illuminate things in the dark but you need a device like night vision to see it!

  • can you see the lizard people with this?

  • Thank you. Good info.

  • HW 100 .22 Air Rifle tactical rat slayer MOD !

  • I have the Sony SR-11. It has great night vision. But IR illuminator is limited outside. What is the frequency of the IR? Can it be seen by the naked eye? Thank you. Great video.

  • @turftamper IR is typically 700-1400 nanometers. 940nm IR LEDs work pretty well with cameras, but if you really want range you'll probably end up going with some CREE LED lamps in the 850nm range.

  • that is awesome.

  • What rifle is that?

  • nice set up

  • hella white trash! i like it! lmao!

  • i love it :D

  • YOU ARE A DOCTORATE GRADUATE FROM NIGGARIG UNIVERITY!

  • Got some info for ya, You can get even more powerful Infrared led torches made by Solarforce 3 Watt led you can scope mount them too and have a trigger switch :D (thats only if you wanted to know?) I love your setup its well neat, keep up the good work!

  • thanks for the response also can you tell me how far out realistic could i shoot vermin with this set up? possibly as big as a fox??

  • thanks for the response also can you tell me how far out realistic could i shoot vermin with this set up? possibly as big as a fox??

  • hey! what mmodel is your sony camera? james

  • @altamount1 Hi James, I have a sony hdr-sr11 now but the one in this video was a non hd version! most sony cams have night shot and thats what you need!

  • so you're not actually looking through the scope, you're watching the camera screen.

    that's a pretty cool set-up!

  • @007tallguy No I look at the screen, I makes you feel detached from the killing!

  • How mobile is this set up?

  • @jetpowered1 Not all that mobile, I use it on a bipod!

  • do you suggest using that for airsoft?

  • @skullteen27 It should work!

  • @snypercat thnx

  • i was like ooh thats cool. when i saw it in the videos to the right and wen i was watching the video i was like what the hell? lol. i didnt think it was like a sniper scope lol. when i was it on the gun i thought that was tight, lol. good work bro.

  • Cool !!! nice video !

  • what kind of gun is that on 0:27?

  • WTF?!? hahahahahahhahahahah I love it

  • nice job you saved a ton of $ by doing that.

  • frickin awesome

  • Pretty sure huntin at night is illegal E_E

  • then you go and use that thing and mame a poor animal because of the lack of accuracy. i promise you wont be able to group your shots accurately enough using that setup.

  • Really you think so? watch my video "Best of rat shooting with Weihrauch HW 100 .22 Air Rifle" 435 5 star ratings say other wise! head shots all the way. ;-)

  • Hey, that's a cool makeshift workamajig. :D

  • Thats a nice video, 5 stars, nice weapon too

  • looks like the heat signature shotgun on mw2....lol

  • Get rid of that huge IR illuminator and get a 3 or 5 watt IR flashlight.

    The size would drop massively.

  • badass setup my friend. I so wanna try this one day.

  • I think 80 yards on this would be fine =)

  • Yea....could ya make a shot out to 100yds, could you see targets relatively clear!!

  • only about 50 yards!

  • What's the Range Of the IR Light? Can You See Up to 100yards at least?

  • only about 50 yards!

  • good idea :D

  • what are the name from these sony camcorder

  • Sony HDR-SR10E

  • whats the bbgun company?

  • show it shooting!

  • nice!

  • holy making an old weapon modern

  • wow that is awsome but you might not want the dnr to see that one lol

  • lol we have the same cam ^^

  • dumb as hell waste of time

  • your dumb as hell and a waste of human dna.

  • ill go with a laser illuminator and leave the camcorder at home.

  • lmao BOOM HEAD SHOT

  • You do realize they sell starlight scopes.

  • this is a chick sweet should b more of u

  • so what is IR

  • infrared

  • what is the range on the IR illuminator?

I'm not sure if they are legal in usa - I read they can harm peoples eyes if shined into someone's eye? How do you see to shoot if the cam corder is attached to the end of the scope?

  • try looking at the lcd screen.

  • what's an lcd screen?

  • uses the camera screen will show an image as if u were looking down scope, still goin to show the cross hairs

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeet !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow cool man but dawm i dont have a camcorder how about a megapixel little camera lol

  • if u hook a camera phone up to the scope, then that would be enough lol

  • depends ...i have a 2 megapixel camphone and it works ..i shot a dove with my shotgun and got it on vid but i cant find it no mo

  • you wouldnt' be able to see in the distance in the dark.

  • thats a brill idea m8 well done grate vidz

  • what does the IR do?

  • its invisible to the naked eye so it doesn't scare things away

  • Wow thats freaking awesome lol!

  • Very impressive.

  • tht iz fukn dope man

  • Where to you plug in the IR illuminator at?

  • the IR illuminator is a separate thing I got from ebay, I will send you a link.

  • gut!

  • sickness i have that exact camera and gun

  • i use a handycam on the back of my scope u look thou it like the scope i use it on my crossbow it works great

  • switch off auto focus and set the lens to infinity, that should give focus all the way through and stop the AF searching

Cool idea.. i'm thinking of doing similar with my HW100T

  • do u haft to have night vision for the IR lamp, if not what setting do u put ur camera on?

  • I don't think you understand the concept. The IR lamp is what makes it possible for the camera to see at night, creating night vision. The camera can see IR light, the lamp creates the IR for the camera to see.

  • That is just frikin' sweet. Necessity is the mother of all invention.

  • what does the ir lamp do?

  • And the result...

  • Have a look at "Filmed with Sony HDR-SR10E camcorder" and "Rat shooting with Sony camcorder and IR laser illuminator" (by snypercat but be warned it is graphic)

  • excellent way to get cheap night vision...i have tried many bodged attempts with torches and tape...but this way looks good for people on a tight budget..!

  • Your video's have inspired me to go out and purchase a pellet rifle. I just picked up a crossman phantom for the great price of $60.00.

It did not come with a scope how ever, and so I am wondering what scope you recommend for the rat video's and what is the best choice for the video camera? Oh and which IR Illuminator do you recommend, also?

  • Thats a good price, it looks like they are about $110 new, they cost us about £150= $244 here in the UK, it sucks big time how much stuff costs here. I just bought a Crossman 2250 at £110=$179 but at pyramydairguns they are only $77.95 thats only £47 I hate this Rip Off Britain.

I recommend a low mag scope 3-9 ish, I think only Sony camcorders do night shot, you will need a powerful IR light or an IR laser ilumniantor for any distance.

  • Well I bought the Rifle used from a guy that says he had only used it 3 times, and from the looks of it, its brand new. It sure shoots true. A 1 inch group at 25 yards, just using the iron sights (or in this case Plastic).

once I had it all sighted in, I aimed it at a squirrel and it died before it hit the ground, so I think its capable of taking on rats.

  • Looking at the specs and reviews on those rifles they have plenty of power, if its .177 I would recommend flat or hollow points but if you can hit it in the head it is more humane though a body shot will kill the quiet quickly.

    Happy shooting my friend ;)

  • I noticed that at times in your video's that you sometimes zoom in a bit. Are you doing that with your scope and allowing the camcorder to autofocus, or are you zooming with the camera through the scope?

  • Good question, the camcorder autofocus does struggles a bit but I zoom with both to make the best of them. There is a point where I zoom out to so you can just see the hole of the scope because it has problems if you zoom the camcorder to just the cross hairs.

  • I know, but "proper designed night scopes" costs around £600-1000 and you can't mount them on registered hunting rifle because of the stupid law,in other hand camera+sniper combination is not illegal,I checked!

Must get rid of the foxes and other pests,so I would be shooting at least at 100 yards!

looking forward to buy camera, what should i search for,I mean what kind of specifications are best for night shooting!?

    Thanks

  • Oh I didn't realise proper designed night scopes are illegal in some countries. The problems with cameras are they aren't that good for distances of 100 yards, I think my set up with an IR laser (Laser bought from ebay)is ok to about 40yards also you may need to use a camera with a tape rather than a hard drive like mine because of the recoil!

Have a look into a "Yukon Digital Night Ranger" and see videos by "SniperTaffy" its not a scope but is night vision and would do 100 yards Ok.

  • What kind of the pipe yo used to stabilize it and how stable it is!?

And another thing,on how far is it effective!?

What do you think, wold that bee enough to withstand recoil force of AK or bolt action!?

    Thanks!

  • Hi have a look at the video response, its a more up to date version, it was ok on the pipe which was just a piece of 2" rubber pipe.

I think heavy recoil would damage the camera, there are proper designed night scopes available that should be Ok.

  • LOL, ingenius!

  • now thats the shit right there dude lol

  • great thinking! great videos!

  • Thanks

  • looks good i was gonna try it with putting night vision on it instead of a camera but, everybody said it wouldnt work. i never thought of just a scope with a IR light on it

  • very nice mod thanks for posting

  • How much did the handycam cost and what model is it?

  • Hi its a DCR-SR32, about £300

  • so you aim through the screen of your cam?

  • Yes, much like a video game.

  • then it's very nice how steady you shoot

  • nice

  • very nice. what is the black tube you used and did the lens adapter come with the camera?

    thanks

  • Hi look under user name snypercat for "Revised Camera attachment" the adaptor rings can be bought from camera shops or good old ebay.;)

  • Thanks

  • so how does the ir lamp then mate? how much was it off ebay? cheers

  • thats pimpin! pretty sweet
