This song brings back fond memories of The Powerpuff Girls Movie commercials. However, now that I'm older, I realize that this song undermines the female sex and sets women back from men. It embodies stereotypes that I just can't approve of. I remembered this song becuase I just recently recieved the PPG complete series on DVD (I've never seen the movie, but I will soon based on fan reaction and reviews!) and wanted to have a look at it. Being a male, I enjoy PPG, but this song is a disgrace.

Guys, I just realized something. Remember Chem X and Chem Y from the show (the chemicals that added/took away powers, respectively, if you don't remember)?

Well...girls have two X chromosomes, and guys have one X and one Y chromosome. So, this "X" in Chemical X might be a reference to what makes a girl a girl, and the Y might be in reference to "maleness". Talk about subliminal girl power message! Woohoo!
