Soooo, a BA from a liberal arts college is now an accomplishment? They call it a commencement speech for that exact reason, ITS A COMMENCEMENT. "We have nothing to fear from anyone on this earth, blah, blah...." That statement is so irrational I can't dignify it with any construction of the English language. Once she goes to Afghanistan and meets 12 year olds who have been slitting throats since they were 6 she might rescind some of her uninformed rhetoric. Christ.........
I got shivers up my spine, and that feeling in the pit of my stomach when I heard her speech. We need more people like her in the world...brave enough to be at the front line in the struggle for peace. Hope is still alive for this world. We've got a lot of hard work ahead of us, but as long as there are Jean Sara Rohes out there...we are winning.

Fear of death is barely anything to be really afraid of. Especially the things you mention since theres nothing in our day to day lives we can do to prevent them. She's saying we shouldn't let blind fear make us take rash action. If theres a problem, you rationally find the best solution, not go around killing anyone you think is associated with the problem without any real intel. Fear shouldn't motivate us. Compassion for the ppl who died should. And they deserve a thought out plan.

I COMPLETELY agree with you. She really needs to shut the fuck up, I live in Oklahoma City, I can still remember the day clear in my mind April 19th 1995. I remember hearing the LOUD crack from the bomb and remember feeling the ground shake, I was over 15 miles away and it shook my computer off my desk on to the floor.... Dont tell me theres nothing to fear from anyone.
Would you also be this mad with Roosevelt who said basically the exact same thing? Only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Every military leader knows fear shouldn't dictate your actions. The Epicurians thought fear was the root of all of humanities problems. Sure we get scared of things but we shouldn't be paralyzed from it. If any of these peacenik freaks had more than just empty words, they would move to Indonesia, Iran or any other fascist nation and fight for the rights of their so-called "brothers and sisters", instead of bashing American ideals such as freedom and justice for all.
The left. jhschwartz , we are all sick of neocon efforts to polorize America. She is an American and has as much right to speak freely as anyone else without being labled. To disagree does not make you left, a traitor or communist. Had McCain himself addressed them personally and not delivered a prewritten speech I think it might have been different. It was their day .
