I dont remember which year it was but I remember watching the strongman contest and the event had to do with loading kegs. All the contestants struggled ,wile Bill tossed them on like they were empty, it was fucking amazing . Always remember that.
@guitarownerlol Jay wouldn't even stand a chance against strongman. It's obvious that you don't know much about this sport, but this is strongmen sport, and Jay is a body builder. No doubt that Jay is strong, but Franco columbo entered the WSM and he ended up breaking his leg. Body builders wish they could lift this much, but all that muscle of a body builder is just for show.
Angus MacAskill was the worlds strongest man right??? I read he lifted a ship's anchor weighing 2,800 pounds to chest height, and an ability to carry barrels weighing over 300 pounds apiece under each arm or reputedly able to lift a hundredweight with two fingers and hold it at arms length for ten minutes. People also claimed to see Angus lift a full-grown horse over a 4-foot fence, without breaking a sweat.
@gspgreatest so setting all the records in the strong man lifts makes him a failure? im sorry bro but do you even know what your saying when you say it??
yes I do. But clearly you dont. It means after all this time hes still havent been able to win the big one. And that he only have some of the records. Zydrunas have most of them.
@gspgreatest the point is, poundstone has more records and has beaten him in all but one lift. and thats because he cant. bill was great at his prime. but a modern poundstone unfortunately destroys him.
@TheGreatMishas Arnold was the face of bodybuilding, and Kaz was the face of strongman. Sure the're bigger and stronger guys out there, but it's the imprint that a man leaves behind that counts.
He obviously used steroids, and back then they werent properly understood, they didnt cycle or do any pct they just stacked ridiculous amounts of substances. He is still alive and healthy. The media warns us about steroids causing heart problems and the like but Bill Kazmaier is living proof that this is to an extent false. Now we understand more about steroids and we know how to use them properly, the media needs to stop targeting the extreme minority who have health problems in relation to AAS
@hardstyleremixer Because for bodybuilders, strength is the means to an end, that being the ability to stimulate more muscole growth. That, plus effort is made to strive for balance and proportional development of muscle groups in the interest of aesthetics. For powerlifters and strongman competitors, strength is the end in itself, with additonal mass (when it is sought) serving the sole purpose of making more strength possible.
@hardstyleremixer because the training is different they train for power and strength, BB train more on focusing on the pump and squeezing the muscle, more about shaping then just total strength
@hardstyleremixer Because they dont go for perfect proportions, they dont care about being lean or cut and they lift heavy as fuk every workout. While bodybuilders concentrate on looks (obviously still huge and strong as all hell) they concentrate solely on strength
@hardstyleremixer Body building has a specific purpose, to increase muscle mass. Strong men train for whole body training. Professional lifters train to perform specific lifts etc. It depends what you're specifically training for. One thing to keep to keep in mind though is that size does not equal strength.
@Qzyxya one can be buff and not be strong yet some people have very little muscle and hold up to twice their own body mass. the type of training makes the difference.
@Calumrockyoursocks Im not saying they are weak... I say that bodybuilders are not as strong as strength atleats... bodybuilders look stronger than "Strongmen" but their not stronger.
@hardstyleremixer Body builders train differently. The amount of weight, reps, etc. So they look stronger and more fit. But they way these guys train is for pure strength not looks.
well people if you wanna see strong man search in the Norwegian history the strongest man i ever know of will eat this little man for dinner. google (Stor Johan Arnt) strongest man ever recorded in history. height 2m and 14cm with human power and strength that could't believe to exist. not many know of Stor Johan but the people that do know of this beast know what am talking about

That was funny, I was listening to the beginning of the song, then I skipped to the end of the video, and the song continued like nothing had changed.
I'd say Magnús Ver Magnússon and Mariusz Pudzianowski are both ahead of this guy. The Americans rarely fare very well when the competition isn't in their country.
paul anderson is the strongest man who ever lived, he was a 40 or 50's and hed one arm shoulder press 300lbs 2 times, and partial squated 2000 lbs and back lifted 6400 pounds, ide like to see people these days do tht
@Cheema0113 I think Kaz was stronger. His anatomy is more strength based. It was his greatest weapon not counting his berserker rage when he was in the heat of "battle" :D There were always guys bigger than him but he always managed to outlift them for some reason.
I was in a hotel lobby in Jacksonville FL for the FL/GA football game in 2004 and in walks Bill. I grabbed my buddy, and said, "holy shit that's THE KAZ". I think Bill heard it, and I went over to meet him. He was a nice guy, but he did put his bag down and told me to watch it for 15 minutes while he "took care of something." I did of course. He came back and shook my hand and went on his way. I was 5'10" maybe 215lbs and all muscle, but I felt like I had a baby's hand when I shook his.
@mboymanuel Savickas is a monster. Although last year Brain Shaw gave him a run for his money. I believe those two are gonna trade wins the next couple of years. Shaw actually might have more potential in the long run.
@shaverwc Your comparison makes no sense at all... The claim of the video is Kazmaier as the strongest man who ever lived. So if the strongest man competition is our scale, Pudzianowski won it 5 times while Kazmaier has 3 victories so 102,5 points proove nothing. Besides as a bodybuilder, the numbers you've given made me smile seriously... First of all there's no huge gap between the numbers and if Pudzianowski was as bulk as Kazmaier, he would have lift so much more in every exercise.
@AltugCakmur it doesnt matter how many times someone won the WSM competition. Pudzianowski competed in it just about every year, while Kazmaier was not invited for 3 years due to a dispute he had with the event organizers, so its not a fair comparison. The only thing you can go on is pure numbers, which Kazmaier has Pudzianowski beat on. It doesnt matter how cose the numbers are. The fact remains that Kazmaiers numbers are better, and he did it RAW.
@shaverwc False. Mariusz Pudzianowski's numbers are far superior. 17 reps with 350kg deadlifts is something Bill or anyone else in the world can't touch.
@DoNultima 350kg is 770 pounds. Kazmaier did 887 on deadlift. granted, that was his max, but the only reliable number i can find on pudzianowski's max is 935 pounds, which only slightly edges out kazmaier. but kazmaier edges out pudzianowski on bench and squat.
@AltugCakmur Also, Pudzianowski is not that much smaller than Kazmaier. And you can hypothesize all you want about how much stronger he would be if he weighed the same, but the fact is he isn't the same. I could say that if Kazmaier weighed as much as Brian Shaw then he would be stronger than Louis Cyr, but the fact is he isn't. You can only make strength comparisons based on numbers, and the FACT is that Kazmaier's numbers are more impressive.
@AltugCakmur Thats very debatable. Sure, Pudzianowski may be quicker than Kazmaier, but when it comes to pure strength, I would put my money on Kazmaier. Kazmaier's best lifts are Bench: 662 lbs. Deadlift: 887. Squat: 925. Pudzianowski's are Bench: 649. Deadlift: 935. Squat: 836. So Kazmaier beats him in two out of three, and remember, Kazmaier did it raw, without a bench shirt or a squat suit. Also, Kazmaier still holds the record for most points in a WSM competition (102.5 points in 1980)
@DoNultima I can't find any reliable sources for those numbers. deadlifting 500 kg is the equivilent of 1100lbs. the only person i can find who has deadlifted 1100 lbs was zydrunas savickas earlier this year, and that was with straps (it was a world record). as for squatting 500 kg? no way. MAYBE if pudzianowski had a squat suit, but even then, there's only a handful of people who can do that much, and they are all much bigger than pudzianowski.
Bill Kazmaier won the world strongest man three times but Jón Páll Sigmarsson won four times the world strongest man doesn't that mean Jón Páll was the strongest man who ever lived or is this just the opinion of the maker of the video no disrespect just checking the facts replay if you have any comments
@iversonnr19 It is true that Jon Pall Sigmarsson won the event 4 times, as did Magnus ver Magnusson...and Mariusz Pudzianowski won the event 5 times. However, that does not automatically mean they are stronger than Kazmaier. Kazmaier did not compete in the '83, '84, '85 or '86 events. When he returned in '88 (they didnt have an event in '87) he was well past his prime and still came in a close second to Sigmarsson who was at the time in his prime (some think Kazmaier was cheated in the event).

If Kazmaier had competed in the '83 '84 '85 and '86 events, he most likely would have won them all. As it was, Geoff Capes and Sigmarsson traded wins those 4 years, however, in other strongeman competitions, Kazmaier beat both Capes and Sigmarsson, so it is reasonable to assume that Kazmaier was easily the strongest of the three if u judge them all in their primes.
@bascorasco2 Depends where, I believe in ancient Europe such people were common. ;) Like LDK, swords weighting 200kg, plus all heavy armor. Only now we became liberal pussies.

@shaverwc False. Mariusz Pudzianowski's numbers are far superior. 17 reps with 350kg deadlifts is something Bill or anyone else in the world can't touch.
DoNultima 4 months ago
@DoNultima 350kg is 770 pounds. Kazmaier did 887 on deadlift. granted, that was his max, but the only reliable number i can find on pudzianowski's max is 935 pounds, which only slightly edges out kazmaier. but kazmaier edges out pudzianowski on bench and squat.
shaverwc 4 months ago
@AltugCakmur Also, Pudzianowski is not that much smaller than Kazmaier. And you can hypothesize all you want about how much stronger he would be if he weighed the same, but the fact is he isn't the same. I could say that if Kazmaier weighed as much as Brian Shaw then he would be stronger than Louis Cyr, but the fact is he isn't. You can only make strength comparisons based on numbers, and the FACT is that Kazmaier's numbers are more impressive.
shaverwc 4 months ago
Sorry but Pudzianowski is so much more better than him...
AltugCakmur 4 months ago
@AltugCakmur Thats very debatable. Sure, Pudzianowski may be quicker than Kazmaier, but when it comes to pure strength, I would put my money on Kazmaier. Kazmaier's best lifts are Bench: 662 lbs. Deadlift: 887. Squat: 925. Pudzianowski's are Bench: 649. Deadlift: 935. Squat: 836. So Kazmaier beats him in two out of three, and remember, Kazmaier did it raw, without a bench shirt or a squat suit. Also, Kazmaier still holds the record for most points in a WSM competition (102.5 points in 1980)
shaverwc 4 months ago
@shaverwc What? Pudzian has deadlifted over 500kg and squatted more than 500kg too. Benchpress 300kg.
DoNultima 4 months ago
@DoNultima I can't find any reliable sources for those numbers. deadlifting 500 kg is the equivilent of 1100lbs. the only person i can find who has deadlifted 1100 lbs was zydrunas savickas earlier this year, and that was with straps (it was a world record). as for squatting 500 kg? no way. MAYBE if pudzianowski had a squat suit, but even then, there's only a handful of people who can do that much, and they are all much bigger than pudzianowski.
shaverwc 4 months ago
@DoNultima Pudzianowski hasn't deadlifted or squatted 500kg...

Bill Kazmaier won the world strongest man three times but Jón Páll Sigmarsson won four times the world strongest man doesn't that mean Jón Páll was the strongest man who ever lived or is this just the opinion of the maker of the video no disrespect just checking the facts replay if you have any comments
iversonnr19 4 months ago

Incredible strength and will. But just think, the raw power of an African gorilla would make light work out of this guy. That's just crazy!

if this guy lived 3000 years ago, he would probably be a demigod that people would have to offer sacrifices to.

@bascorasco2 Depends where, I believe in ancient Europe such people were common. ;) Like LDK, swords weighting 200kg, plus all heavy armor. Only now we became liberal pussies.
