  • terrys flying machine at the start- classic

  • DIABOLICAL ACTING!!!

  • When Gilliam started reading the charges, that voice seriously caught me off guard.

  • T_T don't remove the animations...you make Gilliam sad :(

  • BREAKS THE ICE AT PARTIES.

  • This has got to be the best episode ever.

1: you never expect the spanish inquisition.

2: our cheif weapon is fear blah blah blah

    3: and nice red uniforms.

  • NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!

  • LOL The beginning is just genius ,the man with the flying gadget!

  • okay, i'm gonna watch every single one of these! The first episode was awesome, and this is just sooooo hellarious!!!! LOVE IT! (spanish inquisition!)

  • When will they learn that being kicked off a cliff doesnt work...

  • Cleese looks almost devilish with that goatee.

  • @tecguySD Cleese always looks devilish.

  • "Amuse your friends - CS gas canisters!"

  • For those of you complaining about "scenes missing" (ha), it's not ESMR doing it. If you look back over the comments, apparently he taped these from A&E, which in turn got a syndicated version that was edited for American television once upon a time, so some scenes are missing.

  • Oh that explains some things because I keep seeing scenes here on Youtube and some Monty Python specials that ESMR doesn't have. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • good shit

  • I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition! I know it is a famous skit and...Errr the two great things about the Spanish Inquistion are......

  • @Drwhofan1971 Chests and Drawers

  • Monty Pythonss Flying Circussss.

  • and now for something completely different...

  • Dinsdale?

  • I love the sketch where Eric is selling jokes door to door.

I think the Spanish Inquisition is one of the most over-rated sketches they've done. It's funny, but there's just something not-clever about it or something. Know what I mean? Eh? I think I feel about it the same way I feel about Holy Grail--it's Monty Python for the masses, not for the true fans.

  • Well, I don't really know what to say.. Can you give some examples of the opposite of what you mean? e.g: What's your facorite episode or something like that.

  • There are so many, where to begin? One I've been thinking about a lot lately is the poet Ewan McTeague, "Can you lend me a bob till payday?" The sequel to Nudge nudge, the restaurant sketch, Anne Elk, The Fish License, the Architect Sketch. (Actually, I've been writing about five comments on every show as I watch them in order. Probably enough to annoy everyone else! :) So if you look back through, you can see what I like! :)

  • The truth is a lot of it has to do with the popularity of it. Everyone knows the black knight, everyone knows "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" But then if you say to one of them "More beans!" or "Right away, Squire, I haven't had it in weeks!" or "Splunge!" then they look at you blankly. (Those are three more of my favorites, also flying lessons.)

  • Yea, we've got most of the same:D

  • I'VE RUN OUT OF BEANS!!!

  • I'm still waiting for that episode. I'm on Season 3 episode 8--I am unfortunately running out of episodes! (I'll have to start over!)

Graham Chapman as the teenage girl in that one is the most disturbing amazing image of all time.

  • theres always the movies they have done =D

  • The other line that I have said my entire life that draws blank stares and whispers behind my back is, "Oh, I thought you said bacon."

  • Haha don't you just hate that?!

Another one that gets blank stares is, "Sorry squire, I gobbed on yer carpet."

    Oh and, "Semprini?" "OUT!!!"

  • That sketch is full of them:

"Oh, right away, squire, I haven't had it in weeks!"

  • Hahahaha Ken Shabby is one of the best sketches.

I've seen your comments on ESMR's videos and you seem to know all the sketches by heart!

  • "What do you keep your hard boiled eggs in?" hahaha

and of course "What a pleasent exercise heya"

  • Terry Gilliam is great in the Spanish Inquisition sketch also.

  • frighten the old people, real snakes

    XD rofl

  • frighten the old people, real snakes

    XD rofl

  • which really stinks.

  • you're limited to 100mb or 10 mins per video upload, whichever comes first

  • MPFC is the best. Legends in comedy. Just when I think I've seen it all I see something new that makes me wet myself laughing!

  • I hate to impose on you after all the slogging you've been doing - thanks! - but for God's sake don't touch the animations. They come from the same 'bizarre free association' mentality as anything in the sketches.

  • Diabolical acting gets me every time.

  • Michael Palin's best performance apart from his Arhtur Putty character XD XD

  • nobody expects The Spanish Inquisition! You gotta love the red uniforms... lol

  • while i do find the animations rather dull i think that they should not be skipped and that the opening scene should be cut if at all: i don't mind 4 parts per episode at all

  • I thought directors could put longer videos up?

The animations are integral to the show, you can't remove them.

  • Monty Python's Flying Circus is meant to be watched in its entirety with nothing removed or interrupted. That's the whole point of the stream of consciousness idea the six guys came up with. Keep it at 4 videos each episode, I really don't mind.

  • I appreciate all your work, but I love the animations too, since the opening credits are the same every show, maybe cut those?

  • Oh no, you can't remove the animations!! They are brilliant!

  • Absolutely not! Please keep the animated stuff as it's part of the whole Python experience.
