I watched and read about the process of making this title sequence. I feel it says more about Lisbeth's character than the movie itself. It's supposed to be based on the idea of Lisbeth's worst nightmares, but the movie doesn't show enough depth to her character, not as much as it should. She's so much more complex than they let on, so very little is revealed about her.. Too much Daniel Craig, if you ask me. But Rooney Mara does an excellent job. She IS, in many ways, Lisbeth Salander.

The opening credits to this movie absolutely blew my mind. The visuals are just amazing! Unfortunately, after having been treated to a sequence like this it left me a little disappointed with the actual movie (forgive me, Fincher!).

To be fair, part of that clearly stems from knowing the original already, and seeing how both movies are very similar there was obviously nothing left to be surprised with.

This opening, though...fantastic.

Internet is always fun. ''ts hard to understand harsh comments about this cover. The song follows pretty much the same pattern and dynamics of the original, what is new and fresh is the sound design etc...I don't see how you can hate the cover if you like the original. You could not like electronic sound sure..still that wouldn't make this a bad cover. Unless you're still someone with those childish attitude (no offense to younger people) like "what I like is cool, anything else is just shit".

He earned a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for making the soundtrack for Social Network along with Atticus Ross, and a Grammy for a music that contained the words "fist fuck".

I thought it was neat but I really didn't understand or connect the idea of the intro to the movie itself, in fact I was confused and could not figure out what the opening had to do with the movie.

FifaSpect's view is probably the closest thing I have to understanding the intro of this.

@cleverbee13 The intro takes up the themes that play a role somewhere in the story: technology/computers/hacking, cars/motorbikes+oil, violence/pain, fire (has to do with Lisbeth's past, don't wanna spoil), the wasps ("wasp" is her nickname/she also has a wasp tattoo on her neck, they didn't really comment on that in the movie I think, you can see it though), a dragon of course, and the phoenix ... someone will rise from the ashes of their past and kick all the bad guys' asses =)
