@lastdragon55 One of the first episodes I saw was the one where they met Courage's old friend in Florida and MAN that one struck me as friggin' dark. LOVED it. XD
I used to love this cartoon back in the 80s. I had only very rare ocasion to watch it, though. Toys were also very rare for me, but nevertheless, it was much much better than comparable cartoons and toylines of that time. I also almost forgot about that one.... thanks for posting!
i remembr when fox 2, nbc 4, cbs5 and abc 7 all played cartoons from 5 am til noon on saturday mornings, then sunday it was all about usa's cartoon express
@digitalman28 Really, I rarley even see anime today. They seem to be trying to recreate the humor of old classics into modern cartoons with a grotusk twist. Eventually concluding in ULTAMATE Idiocracy and retardation. I can't even think of a toon that has an electric guitar solo that words can't describe like this one.
holy crap! I also used to watch this show on channel 11 WPIX when i lived in Jersey back in the day!!! heheh i could hear the theme in my head and searched Youtube on a whim. and here it is! totally Kick-Ass. wish they had some eps on here though.. :(
And also I remember something about a virus that spread in a spiral pattern around the world that turns people into zombies. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that Spiral Zone was partly the inspiration for "Resident Evil". Speaking of which, I can already imagine a live action movie of this show but in a much more darker and serious manner.
Man! I haven't seen this show in years! I don't remember that much of it though because it was so long ago. But I do remember the intro. And it was kind of creepy in that one part where one of the zone riders catches the infected kid in his grip. And we see a close up of it. And even now its still kind a creepy.
This was one of my most favorite shows in the 80's. Overlord and Dirk Courage fought on Earth covered by Spiral Zone with radiated zombies. I remember Taka, Jones, Raw Meat and Bandit, an Arabian Terrorist.
Loved this show when I was a kid. From what I can remember, there were hypnotic machines/ power plants that turned everyone into zombies... or something. like that.
People, remember to favorate this. If enough do, some marketing guy will tell some exec guy to revive this franchise.

The concept in this cartoon would make a great sci-fi zombie apocalypse film.

Good show. I never realized how dark and serious the concept and story was for it. I see it now in retrospect.

Spiral Zone rules. I haven't seen this show in 17 years! I remember watching this on WPIX after school as well.
I feel sorry for this kids of today and the 1990s.

I meant to say "the kids of today and the 1990s."
cubbi1977 4 years ago
I hear ya, man. Kids should see cartoons like this, so they can know there was an era before cartoonists just quit trying.

I do to cubbi1977, me too, no moral in today's toons like back then in the '80's, just anime in all today's toons.
