  • PERFECT ROUTINE... she deserve!!!

  • she has a great style.

  • I wonder will she make the Russian team 2012 I hope so she a class act

  • @dahighbar she is actually on the bubble right now for Russia.

  • @brycehelmer I would disagree. She has one of the best shot to make the team. She is a all-arounder. Russia is lacking in vault. She can still contribute on vault. As of right now Russia has no Amanars. The only consistent and good DTY's Russia has right now are Komova's, Afanasyeva's, Nabieva's and Pavlova. It's scary when you think about all the Amanars USA have when Russia can barely push out DTY's! USA is getting really strong on floor too and Russia has to be scared there too.

  • @abctooeasy What do you mean Russia has no amanars? Russia has 2 possibly 3! Komova can pull one out, Mustafina does one as well, and so can Nabieva. Ksenia is mainly doing floor now. She did vault because Kurbatova is out of the scene now. She could go for an alternate, but i just dont see her being one of the 5 in the line-up.

  • @smeetfan1234 Yeah but they meant as of right now, I think ever since Mustafina's knee asploded on her Amanar it seems like the Russian coaches practically didn't allow the girls to try any more like how Nabieva didn't throw them at Euros or Worlds and probably why she looked annoyed and angry during vault finals probably because she was "only" allowed a DTY and a Pod.

Well, that or they didn't watch gymnastics in 2010.

  • @ChainChomp2 Yes as of right now. Russia is actually struggling on vault. No team can afford specialists. Afanasyeva maybe considered a specialists but she has and still is an all-arounder. I mean she did AA at this competition and in Mexico. Russia must find a way to get to gold position in London, if they don't they will take only 2nd or 3rd place.

I'm very aware of what happened in 2010 :) I know a lot about team Russia.

  • @smeetfan1234 Russia has no Amanars right now. Come on, be realistic and stop dreaming! We can't see the future so you're right they "could possibly" have Amanars. Mustafina right now doesn't even do a DTY. Nabs and Musty have that vile leg sep in their vaults, Afanasyeva does not. Afan is not mainly doing floor. She is still doing AA, stop making things up. She is a very useful gymnast for Russia compared to the other one or two eventers. As a whole, Russia is not strong on anything but bars!

  • @brycehelmer OH and I forgot that Sidorova has a good DTY too.

  • Afanasyeva hadouken to all the dislikes!!!

  • She looked shocked and so did the commentators.

  • The combination of music, power and body tension with cold eye-stares make this routine one of the best. Really world class and worthy gold routine. It's also a good message that you don't need to be very tiny and very young to be a female gymnast.

  • is really cool !

  • Her reaction is priceless, I was so happy for her, she was so happy for that medal and she totally deserved it, great variety of skills, great form, beautiful dance elements, clean landings and the most elegant and expressive choreography in the finals. She was the one I liked the most but I her grace winning over Raisman's difficulty was a surprise to me as well, but definately a pleasant surprise. Can't wait to see her in London

  • i love how a replacement can win gold. wonderful routine

  • omg i love her amazing xx

  • I love her for bring the whip back back. They add so much to a tumbling pass!

  • She is amazing.

  • i can't stop watching this video... it really amaze me every time i watch this vid...

  • beautiful! so glad she won-- the rightful world champion

  • I loved this routine, very deseved world title in my opinion :)

  • i know people say they wanted aly to win... honestly, i think this is the rightful gold medalist. she combined artistry with tumbling and its beautiful. aly is not a ballerina, but she doesnt help her case by having bad form in her knees and toes when she leaps and tumbles. if she did that, she might have won after all.

  • @kaiceekat

Yes agree.. Raisman and her iffy leaps and flexed feet on floor would have kept her out of winning and rightfully so.

  • SUCK IT americans!

  • @JoaoZamae excuse me? That was just the epitome of stupidity. I would never say that to another country's people. We have nothing to be ashamed of. Our gymnasts are very good but others were better that doesn't make us less intelligent or dignified. However, using crass language and telling others to "suck it" not only disgraces yourself but also your representation of your country.

  • @liveyourlife48371

I am from Russia and absolute agree with U

    it was to rude!

  • @JoaoZamae Ignorant.

  • I can't stop watching this. The double attitude spin rocks.

  • She has such artistry and power, she is beutiful to watch. She, Dementieva and Mustafina are my favourites russian gymnasts right now. Hope to see them all in London.

  • Why was Komova withdrawn?

  • @gemclumsyninja They thought Afan had a better shot at medalling/gold and probably thought Komova didn't have the mind-set after falling on beam, but this wouldn't have happened if Bulimar didn't get injured

  • @ChainChomp2 and the coaches were absolutely right. It's so sad that Komova has mind issues... =/

  • @ChainChomp2 Bulimar?

  • @HLNawesomeness Diana Bulimar, Romania

  • Comment removed

  • she looks very elegant, looks very sexy in her leotard.

  • I love her even more on beam but she fucked up a bunch of times... I think it was her at least.

  • In case no one has noticed the Sui Lu vid got taken down by the Japanese TV Network and I got a strike for it when there isn't any of their broadcasting content on it...I sent a counternotification within hours of it being removed but I'm still waiting a response...

  • i absolutely love the russians they are always like the underdogs and they are consistly producing bomb ass gymnasts

  • I'm just wondering how this routine wen from a 14.6 to a 15.1 between Team an floor finals. I dont think she should have gotten the gold. I just don't. Not a world champion routine compared to who she was up against...crap.

  • @ateaara I think both of her spins were devalued in TF but also her landings were a lot better here, except for the third pass because she connected it to the jump in TF

  • @ChainChomp2 The third pass here was connected to the changement/beet jump.

  • @ateaara Afanasyeva has a poorly constructed routine IMHO with no back-up skills in case something gets downgraded. Her intended D score is much dependant on hitting her dance elements. If nothing is completed, she can score as low as a 5.6. I think she only hit her Gogean and double L-spin in the TF (D score = 5.9) and she had a huge bounce out of the double layout, as opposed to the EF where she took credit for everything and had better landings. Not a surprising gold medal at all.

  • @AnnaPavlovaFan "No back-up skills" is right!

  • @ChainChomp2 As long as she pulls off her intended routine and uses her fabulous hands, I can live without extra C leaps!

  • @ChainChomp2 Why would you need back up skills lol...everyone knows a Russian can pull skills out of their ass whenever they need it lol

  • @ateaara You appear to be totally ignorant about gymnastics and malicious on top of all.

  • @TheBourgas1 I am neither of those things...

  • yay lol I love it

  • Afan actually wasn't put in for Komova. Afan was the second alternate. Ferrari pulled out which allowed Mitchell to compete. Then Komova was pulled out which coincidentally let Afan compete. But all and all I am soooo happy that Afan had a chance to redeem herself and finally show the world what she's capable of!

  • @nobably no bulimar pulled out, so mitchell got to compete. then komova pulled out so afan got to compete. then ferrari was injured in the warmup, so chelaru was put in last minute

  • I love the beginning of the routine with the hand movement at :04. Actually I like the entire floor routine. Very original. I just don't really like her ending poise? I fee like it's awkward for such a beautiful routine? But that's just my opinion. Congratulations on the gold Russia.

  • Just beautiful ! ♥ ♫

OMG, 7 people don't know what ARTISTIC gymnastics mean... O_o

  • @markelov: Me too. It's just sooo great!

    Love it and her :)

  • Can't stop watching this routine.

  • Beautiful routine. I wish everyone would stop belittling Raisman here though: I dislike her style of gymnastics as much as the next person, but she showed fantastic sportsmanship here. Did everyone see the big hug she gave Afanasyeva? Genuine delight in their mutual trip to the podium.

  • I love Afanasyeva so much and was really happy for her to win this, but I couldn't get away from feeling as though Sui Lu did a slightly better performance...

  • @bernardmvella Probably she was injured after the Olympics and then she'll never be like she was in 2008. That's a possibility but I don't really know what happened... I just know she's getting worse every year

  • Such a beautiful routine!!!! :) speaking of the spin in attitude(which i love) what ever happend to Ksenia Semenova????????? I really want to know...

  • So nice to see even the 2 men stading on stand following her as moves. Such lovely hand position

  • The Americans can't play the "I hate her because she's a diva" Ameritrash on her! By the way she is like Mustafina's biggest role model, lol.

  • @ChainChomp2 no way she was amazing here...second place had 3 twist and a double pike so typical...glad she won

  • @LCAmarkymark Every gymnast who medalled had a double pike and a triple twist, you really have a problem with the Chinese gymnasts 'variety' don't you...

  • @bernardmvella I think what they mean is that for Sui it was all twisting passes and then the double pike to fulfill the requirement, and then bringing up examples like Belo and PPP who do the same, while Afan has two double somersaults and two twisting passes, with both of their dance being equally good despite the different styles.

As for Raisman, her tumbles were great but her dance and leaps were "wtf"

  • @bernardmvella Thank you ChainChomp2...yes I hate just meeting the requirements and people complaining that Sui Lu should have own...I believe the gymnast that goes about and beyond the code will win and should win. Sure Sui Lu and Afan both had whip triples but Afan when about and beyond put in two whips made it that much more artistic..She hands down deserved the Gold. The chinese team overall without Cheng Fei need to have more variety it would make them so strong if they would try it.

  • @LCAmarkymark Considering they placed 2nd and 4th on floor, I'd say that would make them one of the best teams on floor.

  • @bernardmvella compared to the Chinese in the past its really not. If UK hits their routines on floor Im sure they could score higher than the Chinese right now...people seem to forget their gymnastics history...I mean if Mo Huilan competed floor today for China she would hands down wipe the floor gold..that routine was so amazing..now days I feel like I've seen it all before from the Chinese..I wish this code would change soon..but it won't change for the better

  • @LCAmarkymark Mo Huilan could wipe anyone on any apparatus (besides vault?), so that's not really a fair comparison.

  • @bernardmvella Mo's vault was amazing she was doing a DTY back then with a usual stick..it's fair..I mean Mo proves that Chinese gymnasts can have variety in a floor routine as well as recent gymnast like Cheng Fei, Deng...they seem to go above and beyond the COP...I like the Chinese gymnast just wish they showed more variety. If Mo could do it more that 10 year ago there really isn't an excuse.

  • @LCAmarkymark I guess I know what you mean, but I can only really see similarities in the weaker floor workers besides Sui Lu... Yao Jinnan, Cheng Fei, Deng Linlin, Jiang Yuyuan are probably the best floor workers in recent years (besides Sui Lu), and they all have very different tumbling. Then again my favourite Chinese routine besides Cheng Fei in '04 is Meng Fei in '97, but she had some of the most boring tumbling out of any Chinese gymnast ever! I just loved her dance.

  • @bernardmvella That is why I like Afan's routine. I feel the tumbling, dance, presentation are all there...I feel that Sui Lu just goes through the motions of her routine...reminds me of Gina Gogean...great gymnast..but just no presence on the Floor...her beam is amazing.

  • @LCAmarkymark I guess if a gymnast reminds you of Gina Gogean you aren't going to be very impressed!

  • @bernardmvella not for today's code anyway..its why Romania has not been doing so well...this code just limits so much..its far from the gymnastics of Shushunova

  • @ChainChomp2 Hey, don't stereotype. I'm American, and I love the Russian style of gymnastics. Some Americans get pissed when you lump us all together.

  • @QueenieQue I'm American too, and I'm not happy when the rest of the world lumps us together like we're the people I described either :P

Hence why I stay away from sites like Gymnastike. LOL!

  • @ChainChomp2 I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't put all Americans under the same umbrella . thanks :-) and for the record, i've never played the "i hate her because she's a diva."

  • @j3ennif3r Yes, yes, I know, just from my own observation over 90% of Americans behave that way after they changed the meaning of the word diva when the American cup videos came out, I usually try to alienate myself now because it's useless when I try being one of the few sweet grapes amongst all the sour ones!

  • @ChainChomp2 oh i see. i know how you feel.

  • I love the music, the coreo, the Leotard, her gorgeous hands. Most of all, I really adore her double straight, stopped right on the toe point. I know, that was almost a accident, but was lovely.

  • these commentators are so annoying. all they can talk about are the british women. SHUT UP!!!

  • @96horseluvr She was the last one, so they had reason to overview everyone else, even if they just talk about the British gymnasts because it's their Olympics next year, I hope you're not being hypocritical and watch NBC and think they're any different...

  • @96horseluvr it was a british broadcasting so it would talk about british gymnasts as would usa, china or anyone else would about theirs

  • i felt that Sui lu was cleaner

  • How can this beat Sui Lu? The judges must be blind or f%$#!

  • Best floor routine of the ENTIRE 2011 Worlds

  • @brdbarreira Agreee!

  • "It was a very impressive floor exercise, but NONE of us believed it was that impressive!"

...what?! haha. I love the BBC commentators, but honestly what was wrong here? She performed a superb routine and had artistry to match. She deserved her medal

  • Also I'm proud of Lauren Mitchell and Beth for having great sportsmanship!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love how she actually puts effort into her choreography!! Gorgeous

  • The double attitude turn is so hard to do and she does it beautifully. I love how she uses the ballet technique for her turns, very stylist.

  • @beautifulgymnastics Yeah, there are so few who do that turn because it's so hard for what it's valued, a lot who do D turns choose to labor and scrap through the double L, but the Memmel is still a nice spin when done correctly.

I just wish turns like the double attitude or the one with the leg held in a scorpion position (Ponor, Eli Preziosa) would be done more because that's a beautiful turn too. That or the sport needs a Lia Parolari to delight us with her turns!

  • I think Sui Lu should have won - her's was even more beautiful and difficult IMO, but I think this is gorgeous too. Congrats to Afan on her surprise win!

  • Congrats Russian Princess for the Gold! Absolutely Goddess !

  • @Salamancabanda Yeah and congrats for strip the medal away from the americans

  • @annaccccc how so...give me examples.

  • I love her very much now after this win, since I felt she genuinely won, lol plus Sui Lu already got gold on beam, but I was wondering if anybody knew if she is on Nordic decent since she doesn't look very Russian to me, just wondering?

  • The result was absolutely fair! This routine is the real 'artistic' gymnastics... most beautiful choreography + difficult tumbles = GOLD!!! Congratulations Afanasyeva!

  • Ever since Beijing I became an Afanasyeva fan and she was the reason why I now watch WAG. I have always supported her no matter what. Well deserved win. She has finally been recognized for her beauty.

  • I'd say Aly is always overscored since judges never take deductions from her artistry, not to mention her fucked up leaps.

  • @nikirififo Haha, fantastic comment!

  • @nikirififo Actually I don't think so. She may not have the nice lines of someone like Komova but she was very clean and has difficult moves. Her leaps are much better on FX than BB so I don't think they didn't apply the artistry deductions. The point is that the artistry deductions in the code are pretty small. And there are a lot of other girls who don't show "artistry". When I watch Sui Lu's FX it is very nice and but I don't see her express the theme of the music either...

  • @1bravenewworld But Raisman's dance is ridiculous, her random movements make me feel embarrassed for her.

Many people felt the same for Wieber in 2009. But now she's lovely on floor. They've done magic with her

  • @nikirififo agreed. I don't particularly enjoy watching her either but based on the CoP 09-12 the judges can only deduct so many points for lack of artistry or movements not going along with the music, no matter how much they disagree with her dancing. And they don't apply the full deductions (IMO rightfully) b/c it could still be worse. Her weird dancing doesn't stick out so much with this song, it would me much worse if she had something classic or epic with a whole orchestra.

  • Thanks for uploading this. I really love this. Very unique in music and choreography. Love that double layout

  • Sui Lui should have won IMO.

  • I'm so sick of those bitter, racist Chinese fans who have no idea of good sportsmanship! Stop voting a fantastic routine down! She deserved to win - who cares what her nationality is!

  • @ZCaus To me, all that mattered was that there were two artistic floor routines in front of Raisman, and I'm American :p.

  • Lauren Mitchell in the background looks genuinely happy for her! I am too haha! There reaction was priceless :)

  • Very beautiful exercise!
