Whether or not the song lyrics are wrong or that you think she played it too fast, the fact remains that this is one of not many recordings of Laurie Barton Keith. Born in 1958, Laurie lost her life to cancer in 2005. She is the WILDWOOD flower in my mind. I pray the Lord has you singing for him Laurie; keep smiling; love that demple and the humor you had in you. Rest in Peace Laurie Ann Barton Keith!
oh, bravo! I have to say that I've never heard the original lyrics, having heard various arrangements of the Carter Family singing through the ages. Ignore the shallow naysayers -- this is American folk music... not the overproduced stuff coming out of Nashville. Good on ya, sport, and thanks.
These are the original lyrics written in 1860 by Maud Irving. The Carter Family first recorded Wildwood Flower in May 1928, with lyrics that are a bit different.
I love this! I love hearing people play and sing for enjoyment that bares the soul. God bless!

Thanks for playing and singing that beautiful song. You look a bit like June Carter when she was young.
