I feel like sytycd favours contemporary dancers sooo much. They water down the hip hop so any contemporary dancer can do well, but don't water down the contemporary pieces for hip hop dancers.... this show should be called So You Think You Can Be A Contemporary Dancer.

@everNrose I agree that the show favors contemporary dancers to an extent, but they water down ALL the styles for people who aren't in the style. Compare the difficulty of Iveta's ballroom to any other ballroom this season. And the contemporary dancers are definitely doing a higher caliber contemporary choreography than others. Good choreographers work with who they have. And some contemporary dancers just suck at hip hop and some of the other styles can't do anything resembling contemporary.

@everNrose i can see where you are coming from but this is a lyrical hip hop number. also few seasons ago a hip hop dancer won, this is also the season where twitch came in second so maybe it's less of "so you think you can be a contemporary dancer" and more of "so you think you are a versatile dancer"

Her movements mostly direct his body movements and I think at that point she's telling him it's okay to smile. This is what triggers the realization he's in love with her. At least that's what I think...

Looks nothin like hiphop tho...looks more like lyrical jazz. I don't think they could pull off hard hitting hiphop...so tired of watered down hip hop...But they are great and danced it well! The choreographers use the lyrical to make it easier for contemporary dancers to dance it i think
