I think wipeout was the game that made videogames acceptable on the mainstream back then. Well i remember it was during the time of wipeout/tomb raider/ff7 anyways.

Point being: wipeout is a piece of gaming history, still playing it today ^^ (the music never gets old, chemical fucking brothers omg!!!)

Wipeout was originally a Nintendo 64 game called Wipeout64 guess there is a new one. Nice vid.

The first Wipeout was one of the launchtitles for the ps1 made by Psygnosis and was the first full 3d antigrav racing game.

later on Sony aquired Psygnosis which today is called SCEE Liverpool.

Wipeout64 was a watered down port supported by midway of the first wipeout to the n64, but it came a lot later on in that consoles lifecycle.

Closest thing N64 had to Wipeout was XtremeG (which was decent enough, but not a well rounded or accomplished as a game)

Of course when the minimal, but awesome F-Zero X came out on the N64, that mad cream was brilliant!

Wipe3out had the best music of the serie imo.

The Ps2 game was fail, the PsP game is ok, Wipe3out still stands as the best of the serie imo.

true but waht i mean is that I digged out my 2097 disk (which still works) and wipeout 3 and comparing to say Fusion I think they need to bring back the "cool" factor that they had.

yeah I was just sayin the gritty industial sound fits so well with the game Its a shame they've moved away from this in the last game. It doesn't have that cool edge anymore in terms of the soundtrack
