@SSGogito LOL, keep in mind this IS the early game and it's understandable that nobody but Sephiroth is über powerful. So as with most any rpg styled game, you level up and get STRONGER! Fight a bear and survived, YOU'LL BE STRONGER!! XP I recommend following a walkthrough guide, if only to know what items and materia you can collect in each area of the game without spoiling the plot of course.

I remember this boss very well, first time i got here i was like 7 or 8 years old, i couldnt read english or anything yet and i didnt even have memory card :D i was filled with extreme joy once i defeated this boss

I got this game when I was 7. I attacked when his tail was up, because I had no RPG experience with which to fall back on and because the screen TOLD me to. (Why would the screen lie)? Frustrated after several defeats, I shelved this game and went back to the N64.

Three years later, I picked it up again, and the experience was absolutely worth the wait.
