  • Hhhmmm... Well Fallout 1 and 2 in FPS would be nice to see, well someone could make a mod and its possible to make RPG elements in Build engine...

  • LOL i love redneck rampage

  • fallout 3 gameplay

  • redneck rampage the weirdest game on dos

  • ill bet this would have sold TONS in the south!

  • @tristanscharp

This was just a gag, made to show what Fallout 1 or 2 would have to have been like to logically get Bethesda's Fallout 3 derived from it.

The series are so different, its hard to put it to words.

  • It was also to prove to several forum posters that first person games were possible 'back then' and Fallout had not been a turn based ISO rpg due to technology constraints... This shooter (that I modded) shipped the same year and by the same publisher.

  • @tristanscharp fuck you go to hell fucking asswhole go suck a dick fag!

  • Say what you will, it's still better than Brotherhood of Steel for the XBox.

  • bloody bogan

  • @GizmoJunk

Well, while i've never seen Redneck Rampage played, i think that you did a pretty damn good job on the fatman and its animations and such :p

  • @JCBaerTBFN

Thanks. It was fun to make. RR is a decent 90' shooter that was based on the some of the Duke Nukem 3D engine code. Booze, Beer, and Junk food regain health There are many RR videos on Youtube.

If you watch any... The weapons that I replaced were the Dynamite crossbow (Fatman), and the Machine-gun Bra (Its an alien weapon that looks sort of like a black latex brassiere.)

  • "cuz your dead YEEEEHAAAAW"

  • No Mojo Nixon on soundtrack?? Sad.

  • @Bkrp

RR's was one of the best soundtracks ever.

But I had to use the Fallout soundtrack, (also one of the best).

  • What part did they use exactly in dlc? sorry if im being stupid :P

  • @mitchellvanvliet Ofcourse! i get it now.. on point look out. redneck.. i get it.. :P sorry.

  • this game looks better than fallout brotherhood of steel

  • @Southwater2

It was a fun mod to make. The base game was "Redneck Rampage".

  • Reminds doom.

  • @rapsis2x2

This was made with Redneck Rampage, before Fallout 3 shipped... Little did I know that they would actually use this idea in later DLC.

  • @GizmoJunk

Haha, that's great. So you did make this? (er, parts of it?)

  • @JCBaerTBFN

I modded Redneck Rampage to get this. Its a menu hack, and a weapon swap (I added the minigun and Fatman). The rest was done in post using a video editor. I made this a few months before FO3 shipped.

  • i never really got much into redneck rampage...

  • @TEKEOtheGamer

Great game, you'll never see another quite like it. (even if they used Id tech 5 to make it).

  • @GizmoJunk lol i remember playing redneck rampage when i visited america. such an awesome game. scared me a little bit though because i was around 7 :S !!

  • @GizmoJunk LOL REDNECK RAMPAGE IMA PLAY AND KILL SOME CHICKENS

  • Nice Redneck Rampage mod.

  • @SinHarvester

    Thanks.

  • REDNECK RAMPAGE!!!

  • This was actually well done good sir!

  • @TheZickoPuppets

    Thank you!

(fun to make to; surprisingly fun to play, but this clip is all that I have left of the mod ~hard drive crash)

  • @GizmoJunk Yeah i read about that in the comments...

  • Fun fact: Bethestda never actually played the original 2 Fallout games, they just looked at this youtube video and though this was how it was supposed to play. When GizmoJunk informed Bethesda that this wasn't actually Fallout it was unfortunately too late.

  • @TheRealJawnz

The amazing thing is you're right; though they designed the game long before I made this video.

It was admitted in 2007 that almost nobody there had ever played the series.

  • @TheRealJawnz Sorry if I'm a little slow but are you being serious lol?

  • @TheRealJawnz Like they care, it's all about money when you grow up and work

  • Actualy.. I want to play

  • @wargarkaz

    This one doesn't exist.

It was fun to make, and fun to play; but its a parody, and the mod itself got fried with the hard drive of my old PC.

The base game is cool, but has no Fatman. It is Redneck Rampage... and GoG,com sells it cheap.

  • @GizmoJunk i know it dosent exist , but i want This version of the game (Fan-Made)

  • Fuck Yeah Redneck Rampage :D

  • Yeah Nuke those rednecks

  • Oh my God! REDNECK!!!

    Long time ago........

  • there should be modoc episode in this hahaha

  • is this Fallout 3 ?

  • @shift0

No, of course not. This is a mod of an FPS that shipped the same year as Fallout 1, and by the same publisher. Its a parody (like it says). Lots of folks assumed that Fallout 1 or 2 were like Fallout 3 ~just more primitive; Others thought that 3d Graphics were impossible in the 90's LOL.

So I made this as a joke for both to see.

  • I picked the game "Redneck Rampage" for obvious reasons.

  • @GizmoJunk I know, I just wanted to make a joke about how crude Fallout 3 is... I guess I should've think of a more witty way to do so

  • @shift0 how could you even think that?

  • And then came point lookout.

  • is this a doom mod?

  • @manofninjas

    No.

Its a mod of Redneck Rampage. RR was built on the source code from Duke Nukem. Duke used the BUILD engine. BUILD has many advantages over the Doom engine.

  • Sound is totally fucked in this video!

  • It's like he's riding a bycicle, I mean... too fast walking. The controls seem to be awful.

  • @GustavoMdeOliveira Please tell me you are not serious

  • Cool Redneck Rampage mod.

  • REDNECK RAMPAGE!!!!

  • @Dingoman013

*And I made this before FO3 shipped ~waaay befor "Point Look". lol

  • @GizmoJunk nice, and its "point lookout" lol

  • @Dingoman013

I have them... but I have yet to play any of the DLC.

I was surprised how fun this mod was. Unfortunately this clip is all that remains of it. The mod was on my main PC, and the hard drive fried; losing everything, and the only copy that I had of this. :(

  • Thats a mod for Redneck Rampage.

  • xD RR meets Fallout nice mod

  • I would play this game. Granted, I wouldn't want it to replace fallout, but I'd play it.

  • @FHSChins

GOG,COM sells it (minus my mod)

The real Fallout (don't know if you played or not...) shipped the same year as this game, from the same publisher, but was nothing like this at all.

  • @GizmoJunk

I have, I'm just saying, I'd play a doom/redneck rampage style Fallout FPS and not feel bad about it.I wouldn't want it to replace the RPG series, but I also played and still play a lot of Doom, so running around at 60 mph shredding super mutants with a minigun appeals to me.

As for your mod, I had assumed that this was not a whole mod, it just simply mimics the appearance of fallout. Or is this a total conversion mod you can download? It doesn't seem you changed that much.

  • @FHSChins

I was surprised how much fun that little change made it. RR is a favorite (I have the whole series). I wondered about doing a TC, but got caught up in modding FO3 instead.

The mod was just what you see in-game. The minigun, the menus, and the Fatman with it's explosion. Everything else was done in Flash 8. The mod was made to record video for this clip itself.

I couldn't distribute the mod because it was an altered GRP resource file, and 99% of that is from the retail game.

  • Fake that's Redneck Rampage

  • @JumpinJurassicPark

How is it fake? Its a parody ~It even says that in the video...

If you read the comments, you'd see that nearly all posts by those that know of the game, realize that its a parody, and can discern this from the title of the video. :shrugs:

  • Comment removed

  • @GizmoJunk really a parody I didn't notice sorry if that sounded sarcastic.still none the less cool mod:D

  • this is a doom total conversion

  • @mortebianca000

Actually no... Its a different engine entirely. The base game here is called Redneck Rampage; it uses the build engine, which has several advantages over Doom.

  • @GizmoJunk so you used an engine in another game that you have modded, this game have the complete history?

  • @mortebianca000

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... But no, this is in fact all that there is.. This was a mod for the sole purpose of recording the in game video for this clip. There was no story or gameplay modification.

  • (Little did I know, they would ship Point Lookout ~I wondered if it was based on this mod.)

  • @GizmoJunk

Well, they're radioactive, armor-piercing, mutant redneck cannibals on a git-offa-mah-propertey rampage, but yeah... Damn you Gizmo!!! ;)

Also, your explanation was quite helpful. I actually first played Fallout when I was 9 and know every trick in the game, but I never had access to the Fallout community until recently. I got surprised when I accidentally walked into a full-scale war between gamer generations...

Thanks Gizmo. (Oh the irony, I almost always kill that fat bastard XD )

  • Now that's one crazy mod.

When was this made? (I see the upload date, but did you upload this video immediately after you made the mod or later?)

  • I uploaded it the same day it was done.

The mod altered the menu, the HUD, the loading screen, and replaced two weapons with the minigun and the Fatman and a nuke explosion.

(The Fatman's appearance was a guess on my part, as there were no gameplay videos of it at the time).

  • @GizmoJunk And one more question. Did you make this mod just for the lulz, or were you trying to point out what Fallout 3 is when you ignore the graphics?

I'm not into the whole Bethesda fan vs Black Isle fan fight thing, but I'm running into it whenever Fallout is mentioned, so I had to ask.

(By the way, I loved playing the original games. There is something amiss in Fallout 3, despite it being a great game)

  • Originally it was a common split consensus among the new fans that it was either impossible to do 3d games 'waay back' in the 90's (as explanation for Fallout's being ISO/2d) or that Fallout must have been like Fallout 3, just with crummy 90's graphics. I did this clip as a parody / proof of concept; and called it "Fallout (as it never was)". Both of these games shipped in 1997 (RR and Fallout). Fallout could have been designed like Rampage, or Stonekeep had they wished, but the intention

  • was to create the best example of a pen & paper style RPG possible on a computer. Fallout was originally to use the GURPS rules set for stats, skills, and combat. Its ISO view point was like looking down on a table with animated miniatures, and allowed you to play it like a tactical PnP game with as a clear rule set that applied to all NPC's as well.

  • What's missing for me in FO3, is all of the above in addition to the humor and writing. Can't fault someone for having different sense of humor, but you can for them writing a children's book in place of a novella; and losing all pretense of the series intention in favor of reskinning their last game (Oblivion). Its a fact that I picked RR not just because Interplay shipped it, but because of it's connotations of ignorance (I just don't like the gameplay ~feels like a franken-shooter to me).

  • @DreamingAboutDragons what is this? a mod?or an official demo?

  • this is just a redneck rampage mod... you've been had.

  • @BillyCauseyjr

Been done had a great time making the mod ya mean. lol

Nowhere does it claim to actually be a Fallout game from now or ever, and the video itself needlessly states that it is a parody in the beginning.

Its what a lot of the new FO fans seemed to assume that Fallout 1 must have been like. (It was also uploaded months before Fallout 3 shipped).

  • The south never changes.

  • Hey gizmo.

its me Spectre. from the forums

i watched it a long while back and never realized you made it

  • Duke Nukem 3D?

  • Fat Man in alternate Fallout?! I thought it was a Fallout 3 exclusive...

  • redneck rampage :D old shit man

  • What would happen If larry the cable guy made fallout 1.

  • putting weapons from fallout into redneck rampage doesn't make it a fallout.. the video title is really stupid

  • @seriouslyWeird

Ironically apt choice of wording, once you re-read the description.

  • @GizmoJunk it doesn't change absolutely anything

  • @seriouslyWeird

    Was it supposed to?

Ahem.. You were supposed to re-read the description and see that no one was trying to "make it Fallout" from Redneck Rampage. You would have known this had you read it. Read the title (this never existed), read the in-clip disclaimer (This is a parody).

Its why I said it was an apt wording.

  • @GizmoJunk i did read it. and it wasn't trying to "make fallout" from redneck rampage. it's just a weaponpack for redneck rampage

  • @seriouslyWeird

    Good, I'm glad we agree.

  • @GizmoJunk you don't understand me, i meant to say that putting weapons from fallout into redneck rampage doesn't make it a fallout, the video title is really stupid

  • @seriouslyWeird

I do not misunderstand (and I wish I could word it less corny than saying its you that do not understand me  ).

~Seriously... This is a parody first and foremost. This is also a proof of concept specifically made to debunk the notion that Fallout 1 was made in a time where 3D wasn't feasible (or even possible); these two games shipped the same year. It also depicts what many "FO3 only" players assume Fallout must have been like ~but wasn't. This is Fallout as it never was.

  • @GizmoJunk lol dude i thought that by now you could tell that i'm trolling. it's not even entertaining anymore :(

  • @seriouslyWeird

LoL, I win then, thanks for playing.

  • @GizmoJunk you `win` what? how? you didn't even understand it :P

  • @seriouslyWeird

    How?

You've been had by someone who deliberately refuses to get mad, no matter what. :P (Like a staring contest in a way... you blinked first).

  • @GizmoJunk one thing is about getting some one mad, other thing is making him believe that you're being serious and leading them into a completely ridiculous argument :P

  • @seriouslyWeird

I treat everyone as serious no matter how silly the argument.

In a way, I suppose it begins as simultaneous courtesy and lack of respect; until they show any merit ~then its just courtesy... Later it becomes respect.

  • If it gets that far...

  • Oh boy I sure love Fallout 3

  • is this usin doom engine???

  • @ken0176

No... the BUILD engine; based on the Duke Nukem 3D source code.

(The base game was commercially released, this is a minor mod for that game)

  • And as it says... this is not real, its a parody/concept.

  • @GizmoJunk is there any way u can send it to me the game and mod?

  • @ken0176

I could never figure out how to distribute it without breaking the EULA.

As it is, I don't have it anymore, (hard drive crash). This was not a full game mod, it was just a few gun changes and a menu/UI hack ~no new maps or encounters. I made the mod solely for the in-game recording to use in this Youtube clip.

  • the wolfenstein 3D (OLD GAME) was a fantasticular game and many tried to make their own game like wolfenstain 3D (modifacation) and this must be a beta anyone with me?

  • @bananhosdig

No... This never existed (not even as you see in the clip). It was entirely a weapon & menu mod for the game 'Redneck Rampage'. The opening intro was done post in a video editor (as was the outro speech by Ron Perlman). the middle was modded in-game recordings from RR. I added the minigun, the Fatman, and the nuke explosion. (and also the spinning head, opening splash screen, and HUD changes.

The opening clip is a spliced version of the video from FO:BoS.

  • the author sucks .... i hate such shit; false titles and crap behind it. -.-

  • @hastarasta

    Author meaning me? LOL

Who takes that kind of title seriously?

The title states that it never existed (does it not?); well then...

    It never existed :P

This is a mod that demonstrates a common misconception ~Fallout 1 was by no means like Fallout 3; was by no means some franken-shooter FPS ~although such was possible as the modded game shown here shipped the same year as Fallout 1.

  • @GizmoJunk just seen it. my fault...

  • As Leonard says: "I w'nna ye to staaayyyy on SHEET!"

  • @pedrleo

    * You know... He's actually saying, "I'm on you like stink on $#!^"

  • @GizmoJunk actually i barely understand a half of what he says...

  • to me it looks kinda like doom2 with the mini gun and doulbe barrow :D yes i typed barrow

  • Redneck Rampage + Fallout 1 > Fallout 3

  • Where can i get this mod? and do i need redneck rampage to play it?

  • @K4lashnicov

This mod I made quick; quick enough that what you see of the in-game video is all there is. Just the modded menu, the minigun, the fatman, and nuke explosion sprite. The rest was done in a video editor. This was a fun mod to play, but was never a full fledged project of it's own. I made it only for the in-game video; to use as part of this clip.

*Also, the Hard drive that had the only copy of this mod fried early last year.

  • this is red neck rampage just with a fallout mod

  • ROFL ON RED NECK RAMPAGE

  • What's the name of the song that plays throughout the video (with the harmonicas and congas)? Is it from Fallout or Redneck Rampage? Anyways, I find it strangely good.

  • @GhostDigga121

Its "Khans Of The New California", it was used in the first Fallout (1997), in the Raider's Camp.

Search for Mark Morgan ~he composed the music; Search for his name and Fallout Soundtrack, and find several tracks here on youtube.

Mark recently remastered most of these (including Khans) and put them online for free (non-com) use.

  • i have 1 2 and the actual third one, tactics (it was pretty much the strategy one but still had ammo and all that) theyre actualy apocalyptic themed diablo

  • LOL Redneck Rampage!

  • LOL

  • Really was RedNeck Rampage... Although it is a very good mod of it.

  • it was just called fallout i can only remember bits of it being killed by a supermutant if i recall il have to find my old amstrad emulator and post a vid on it to see if it jogs any1s memory of it

  • fallout 1 did exsist it was a text adventure on the old amstrad 464 and spectrum

  • @jeenormus wait you mean wasteland?

  • "Arguing on the internet is like running at the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded."

  • @dumaramutsi

    [citation needed] LOL

  • @GizmoJunk let's say "anonymous" ??? LOL

  • @dumaramutsi

I love the sentence, I love the picture, have you been to ED?

  • @dumaramutsi This comment was funny the first 2000 times it was used in other videos but come up with something a little more original for yourself there buddy!

  • @ProjectRealityBf2 i put the comment on the 1345th time... so it counts as funny :) have a nice day!

  • hey its fallout 3............

  • thats redneck rampage

  • @Dutcher1000

    Yes it is.

  • Not even Nuclear Fallout can kill of rednecks.

  • it looks like "Redneck Rampage"

  • looks like a doom / duke nukem mod lol

  • OK, where is the ZDoom WAD?

  • If Fallout 1 turned out to be like this, it would not only be about a nuclear disaster... it would BE a nuclear disaster!

  • *interruption*

i loved how redneck and rampage hada gun shaped like boobs!

    *ok,continue your argument*

  • @phycobean239 What the hell are you talking about? RPGs are not all the same. Games are not marketed as "RPG", but specific types of RPGs (JRPG, MMORPG, FPSRPG (rare, but still) etc). Games have evolved past their simple original labels.

Perhaps you should think before you fly off the handle sir.

  • A mod (i guess) of Redneck Rampage, based off the Build engine used for Duke 3d, Shadow Warrior and Blood!

  • @Zombie1Boy

Indeed it was, and fun to make ~Trashed by hard disk corruption.

Strictly speaking, it was a Flash video that combined modified gameplay from Redneck Rampage with additional sound and video assets.

I made the intro and outro in post using Flash. I modded in the Fatman and minigun, as well as the menu & UI changes; Then I played the game while recording it, to use the gameplay clips in the final video. Its a proof of concept. Fallout and RR both shipped the same year (by Interplay)

  • lmao they had fat boys xDDDD

  • It looked like a Duke nukem 3d game :D

  • @ajaxdamian

Close... but then, this is a mod of a game that was based on the Duke Nukem 3D source code.

  • i've played this game more than 10 years ago but i don't know whats it called

  • this is how it should've been :D

  • @grineti5 No it shouldn't have.

  • Lol the Fat Man :)

  • LOL... "Hope you saved your game... Because you're dead... Time to reload..." Kool!

  • o god

  • LOL this is a worthy first game of series containing Fallout 3. Well, not really, you just need to add some RPG elements.

Anyway, looks too much like a modded Doom.

  • Faake

  • lol. Duke Nukem 3D mod

  • @bosquebanda It's a mod of Redneck Rampage, not Duke Nukem 3D. Can't you read?

  • ya kno... 20 years ago, this game prolly would've been pretty good, considering the standards back then...

  • @CalvinKim97

This is a mod, I know, because I made it. The base game is Redneck Rampage, and its still good 12 years later lol. I have a dozen recent shooters, but the BUILD engine games are still my favorites hands down. (IMO BLOOD is the best shooter I've ever played). This mod was a proof of concept to those that kept saying 3d wasn't doable "back then", This game shipped the same year as Fallout from the same publisher.

  • @GizmoJunk Lier.

  • @XenophobicPiglet

About Fallout never existing this way? LOL

*Read the context and information on the videos you post about... Hell just read the comments alone... more than half mention "Redneck Rampage" (which this is , of course). Fallout and RR shipped the same year, by the same publisher (with different developers). Wayyy too many folks popped into the Bethesda Forums years ago with the opinion that 3D could not be done back then [lol]; many others believed that Fallout looked like this

  • There is even a disclaimer for those not acquainted with the series.

No one, but no one, is seriously expected to take this as literal

    (and almost no one has).

  • "The Fallout 1"? Thank's god they didn't use a title like that...

  • Ah redneck rampage, never before had a shooter felt so bland.

  • @sandpersn7

Really? RR is not my favorite shooter but it is in my top 5 (as are the rest of the BUILD engine games lol)

  • BETTER THAN FALLOUT 3 SHIT

  • Looks like a Duke Nukem 3D mod. Or maybe Doom?

  • this is redneck rampage.
