The lad on the camera, "He's airborne.......and he's crashed." :-)
Seems a bit of an old kite bit underpowered too. I would have been off the ground much quicker than that - especially down hill. I reckon the stall's always going to be an issue with that.
Apart from the obvious mistakes already identified in other comments, It appears he didn't bother checking the wind direction or that he should take off into wind either.
If that is his flight suit and he actually is a military pilot, he's an embarassment to the military school he went through.
nose too high on take off, stalled it and bang. Next time crash closer to the cameras, please. I know they will be a next one. You don't need instruction you think. Co'mon Aussies are supposed to be more intelligent. Cheers. Fly safe.
Wa wa wa wa wa wining winers, so what he has guts and my goal is NOT to make the people of the sport look good, my goal is to have fun %$#@! what you or the image of the sport looks like, I don't care and neither shall he.
Get some proper training, wear safety gear IE Helmets ect, idiots like you will give the sport a bad reputation, I've been flying them for 28 years & still get a type conversion
I agree with kesilar, but id say that microlight looks literally home made or atleast one of the earliest microlights made, id blame that too ! When was this video taken ? Thanks for sharing...
Seriously Paul, you need a few more lessons , that was a classic stall, buy a crash helmet and the wheel bouncing across the runway looked expensive, glad you're Ok though. How many hours have you done and what were your intentions this day?

A military flying suit, white gloves and no helmet....seems legit.
