Brilliantly creative arrangements and performances. Having recently discovered this recording, I imagine that Herbie Hancock's interpretation of this song, and the album from which it is taken, will remain a permanent reminder of the Arab Spring for me. I suppose it's just possible that such an association of a people's movement to bring about social, political, and cultural change for themselves is something that John Lennon may also have appreciated.

Yeah, Lennon's version is DIFFERENT... not better or worse... Different. The way I heard it, was split in two interpretations of the original motif of the song. The first one is the original cry for a change, and the second one is how the world would be or feel if that change became true... Nothing to say about the production itself, it's an all-star team givin their bests, under the magic hand of HH. Pure light...

What an amazing display of talents vocals, musicianship, production, creativity, everything. Clean, crisp sound. Really is: And what A GOD-AWFUL PIECE OF SH#T COVER THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN MADE. I can't even listen to it. They destroyed the "atmosphere" of the original and the powerful melody. Covers can sometimes be better or a welcomed alternative to the original, but this is not the case at all.
