It depends if you don't have any of the specific items for dismantling or have any left over ones you can always cast the haste and other stuff on you very quickly.

You can usually get them from dismantling specific items like doctors code, later in the game in chapter 12 you are able to buy them from the shop if you don't have enough then sell some of your components are rare but when upgrading gives very little you can probably sell that and some weapons which you aren't going to use in the future. Sadly I don't know where you can "find" them. Hope this helped.

I never really got why final fantasy xiii is so freakin hard! I mean, don't get me wrong, the story is great but really? A freakin doom meter? As if this guy wasn't hard enough now I'm being timed? Really? They should make the game play on this more like kingdom hearts because yeah all you expirienced people can probably beat these guys but what about us noobies? I wanna beat the game too. But I just don't see that happening with all these freakin tough bosses. It kinda pisses me off ya know?

@sian22 you can't not die from a Doom if Barthandelus casts Doom on you and your not finished with killing him then you should probably retry it, it's frustrating though you'll get him eventually xD Good luck~

What happens if I don't have edgisol or fortisol ?  Where can I find these in Chapter 11? The shops don't carry them either.

@darkbyke You can do it without them. And you don't even have to level up all the way. I did it with just an Aegisol, and I'm not completely leveled up yet. This strategy really did work pretty good, the best part is it kills him before he gets a chance to use his annoying Doom attack on you. Good luck.

@GideonFx Thanks! Got it done right away. I just wish this game gave a little bit more play as far as styles go. It's not great when you can only use specific parydym setups in order to pass a certain boss. You should be able to do it with any of them. Thanks again.

@darkbyke Yeah it can get vexing at times. That's why I waited until about a week before I heard XIII-2 was coming out before I actually got around to playing it. I'm at a little over 40hrs now and am just now starting Chapter 12.

@lightschunk I got past Chapter 11 now, but they can be found dropped by enemies in battles. Eventually you can buy them in shops once you get past Chapter 11.

@211nab No your not, I beat just Bartandelus without any of them. Just make sure you heal up quickly and have a Synergist and saboteur to add more potection

goddammit thank you. I couldn't follow this guide "exactly" since my character's skills weren't raised the same, but after 2 more try's (and even forgetting to use Aegisol and Fortisol the 3rd time) I finally got him on the 3rd try. 3rd time's the charm right?

This game is such rubbish. It is unacceptable that these battles are so annoying.. What happened to the time when Final Fantasy was fun to play? I'm talking about FF4, 5 and 6.  Real games. Not this nonsense.

I've done this battle with this guide practically to the T and I still havent been able to defeat him. I've tried hundreds of times. The only thing I lack is Aegisol and Fortisol which Im pretty sure isnt the reason why I'm failing so much. The game just hates me.

@AnthroChi @AnthroChi hey man me too. now im being very serious when i say this and this is to anyone who is stuck.Use the wikia guide google his name or goto the ff13 wikia and look it up it has the best tip. i used that guide, scroll down and read it. its really rinse and repeat and it worked. it took me about 22 mins i was doom but he had about 100k hp left. and i staggered him. eech person should be at least 4000+hp.... I used light, van, and fang. best you can do is read that.

I just get medic-locked by his four-faced laser; medic locking being to the point where I have such low health that if I don't have two medics constantly healing I instantly die if he chooses to target more than like one guy with his four heads.

i have been at this all day and havent been able to even get a quarter of the way without the doom counter coming. i finally got past that with this guide and then my doom counter ran out when his lifebar was so small i couldnt even see any green. i think i now officially hate this game :(

@dbzrune Yes, just dont fight the last mini boss after Wladilsadus (I think that is how you spell his name) Plus, You should get the growth egg from Mark Mission 55 and farm cp from Wladisladus and Jabberwockey for 64,000cp each time you kill them and from Jabberwockey, you could get spoils that are worth some money

I finally beat him too. The trick is not to use defensive paradigms too often. Maybe once or twice. I didn't get doom put on me at all. It also helps if you upgrade Lightning and Fang's weapons to the next level up weapon.
