i love tori so much. past and present she's just os brilliant. it's like th esongs have taken on a new meaning inside of her. and the new songs? all i can say is wow. so. amazing.

The tone is different, but in a good way, like she's grown and is removed, remembering back to when she was so unsure and sometimes unhappy.

I mean, Tori is NOT silent and has left all of that behind, so this song is like memory singing.

@lifestandstillhere this version is even better than the one from the album. this one is more mature and has more feeling. could you recomend an album that she sings just like this, i mean in a more mature way (i'm gonna listen to night of hunters soon, but other than that)

I was actually thinking that she seemed really into it! It seems in almost all her shows and/or most interviews she is very somber. Like she must feel a lot of pain or something. It comes through in some of the songs. I don't know...

Really? I thought it was one of the best performances of this song in a long, long time. Every note, every chord, every nuanced expression was heard, felt and dripped with emotion.

Oh I understand, I think every Tori fan has performances and albums by her that they essentially either love and cherish or can't stand!

I feel like there's value in both of these responses...on the one hand, this definitely doesn't seem as firey/rumbling as it did in younger days, but I do agree with anulay that there's more sincere feeling (I personally think it seems like a lot of heartfelt saddness...) in this version than I've seen her be able to give in a while...it's still a little slowed down for me, but whatever, glad she's not holding out the notes quite so long anymore at least...
