Wow! When did Liam loose his voice? He used to have such a good voice and a lot stronger voice than this. Hate to say this, but maybe it was a good thing that they broke up, before they were remembered like this, because this makes me sad to see someone so talented loose their talent. got to say gems solo is so good here. i know many people slate liams singing at times but i think he is really good even on an off night for him. here he is great. i remember at finsbury park 2002 he was on probably the best form i can remember even noel high fived and hugged him at the end of the concert.

I think the answer to whether Liam does any vocal prep before an album is no. I'm no expert but Liam's a great singer, but not a technically great singer. In other words his style puts incredible strain on his vocal chords and i think the difference between his singing on albums and live can be put down to the fact he's singing night after night on tour. Where as i imagine when he goes into the studio his voice is fresh and relatively unused.
