@GathkaWarrior no, but 1.5 seconds is going to be a substantial lead, which i very much doubt the m6 would ever come back from, i have the privilege of going in both cars mentioned on regular basis (albeit both were convertible and spider versions) and the when posed against eachover (on the private road) the f430 is quicker in pretty much all circumstances including 100mph upwards!

Something wrong with this. I must confess i am a BMW nut and own several bmws but i do not believe that it is this close. M6 has only 17bhp advantage but then adds over 200kg in weight. Drag coefficient times frontal area shows advantage to Ferrari. Also why is it i can only hear the BMWs engine. Where is the wail of that ferrari V8?

It's not all about which is the fastest. You buy a car for looks and features. Also, the BMW only just passed the Ferrari at speeds which you'd only be on an airport run way or race track. A smart exotic or super car owner would know better than to waste his time wrecklessly driving his expensive car on highways and city streets. It seems like the F430 suffers from a (too) long 6th gear, revs drop considerably more from 5th to 6th than in the upshifts before that (can be heard in the 2nd run). In both runs it shows that the BMW takes back a few meters at that point. I'd like to see the run continue for 2-3 miles, well above 300 kph. Should be interesting to see if the BMW would really get over it (it will have to change gears too and lose ground there), and/or if the F430 would take back the lead...
