  • Looks great. I just got an 012 and I am looking forward to getting her right. I love the bobber look in bikes.

  • I can't give you an honest comparison since I've always run synthetic oil. I don't know about quieting the primary but it does handle the heat these engines produce a lot better. I run s75w-90 synthetic gear lube on the tranny. This does help quiet the shifting sound harleys make. My local custom shop recommended it and if you look at hdforum.com, lots of guys run gear lube in the tranny. Thats an awesome website for info on dynas. As for oils I recommend either mobil1 or amsoil (20W-50).

  • your ride looks and sounds great brother. do you notice any difference running the synthetic oil in your motor and primary? does it quiten it down or make it run a little cooler? ride safe.

  • JUST GOOGLE PICTURES OF OLD SCHOOL BOBBERS AND THEN SEE IF THE TWO DIFFERENT STLYLES EVEN LOOK SIMILAR. 2009 Harley compared to butt naked bobbers????

  • @crghondarider I agree that there are street bobs out there that are more true to the "bobber" philosophy. But the more minimal one gets the more dangerous and uncomfortable the ride becomes. Though I love the look of a stripped down rigid, I just wouldn't be able to ride as much as I do on such a set up. Running without a front fender, a bobbed rear fender, a jockey shift and only a stop light with rear breaks is cool as shi,t but makes for a challenging and uncomfortable ride after a while. :(

  • I'll put a video of my ride in its latest configuration so you can tear it up some more ;)

  • thats my opinion so dont get to offended when thats coming from someone who seen bikes in and out of shops. i used to work at one in DFW, Texas. i seen quite a bit.

Oh and google pictures of OLD SCHOOL STREET BOBS. thats more like what i think of a street bob. yours is a brand new harley. Im just sayin your bike looks like a regular harley that you can buy off the floor and you want an old bobber.

  • and sorry to offend u but that looked like a sportster to me. im just sayin that if i was gona sink money like that in a bike i would have to have a 100+ci motor with a 6 speed tranny. not a 80 or 88. and u menyioned being limitless cuz u dont have a radio. to me limitless is frame motor wheels. BARE BONES and MECHANICS of the bike. meaning no horn, no blinkhers no mirrors, ,,,, just enough to start it up and drive it. maybe a front headlight and runnin/braking light , BUT BARE minimum.

  • i hope u got you a/f ratio right with your pipes, so you can make your old school sound. and is that not a fuel injetced harley. meaning you have to reprogram the a/f ratio (computer) and i put over 13000 miles in a year on a sportbike. so i think i ride to. hurray for us

  • @crghondarider there you go, 13000 miles on a sportbike is something to brag about. I am not one of these Harley guys that doesn't appreciate sportbikes. the power to weight ratio of sportbikes is amazing. I just prefer the looks and laid back riding style of a Harley. but you don't usually run into guys that put that many miles onto a sportbike. I can respect that.

  • THIS is what you said. I love rigids, but I ride.In two years I have put over 18000 miles on my scoot. in other words I'm not a weekend warrior, or fair weather rider. My ride is my main vehicle. As for softails, love those two, but they have counterbalanced engines which cause them to loose a little hp. The sound of the pipes depends on engine, a/f ratio and pipes used. So by "old school" I mean they have sounds similiar to drag pipes (before your time). When you get out of puberty, talk

  • He said the pipes make it sound OLD SCHOOL. You mean the bike (motor) sounds like a harley????

  • @crghondarider continuing, I love rigids, but I ride.In two years I have put over 18000 miles on my scoot. in other words I'm not a weekend warrior, or fair weather rider. • you said you feel more comfotable running with a toolbag than without. Maybe you should get a (HONDA) HARLEY OWNERS NEED DEPENDABLE ALTERNATIVES. Isnt that a sporster by they way? If I was to ride a cruiser at my young age, it would have to be a bad ass custom rigid or maybe even do somethin with a softail. i know those are two diff animal. SUNRIMSPLUS^^ said he likes the minimakist, Those shocks stick out like a sore thumb. cables dangling in the front and blinkers everywhere.

  • @crghondarider "at my young age" is key to your statement. Have you ever had a conversation with someone who believes they have a clue what they are talking about but in reality they are talking out of their ass...that would be you, now. Though I love sportys, my ride is dyna street bob. Bobs along with some other harleys are considered minimalist because they have very little comforts in comparision to an electra guide that has a stereo and cruise control.

  • I'm getting a new Fatboy soon, really want a shade of blue, like Pacific blue or womething. Love the look of Brown leather seats and luggage but I doubt they'd go with blue atall sadly.

  • very common on ebay...brand new...also have seem them in some dealerships...I wouldn't go with the 1.5" as your fender might rub rear tire...but the 1" are just fine...infact I'm running a slightly wider tire (Pirelli Night Dragon 180 tire) and still no problems at all. Have a good one.

  • How do you find the lowering blocks? Is it safe??

  • Very nice man, this is a real sweet looking bike. I love the brown seat on it as well. Simple and tasteful mods.

  • I did have to replace the clutch, and idle/throttle cables...I believe I was able to keep the brake cable...thanks for the comments.

  • Love what you've done to your Bob! I've got a 2011, and am beginning the process of simple mods as you have done - thanks for the video!

  • Really nice bike! Thanks for the inspiration, I'm a female and have the Black Denim 2010 street bob, getting the brown distressed seat now..going with a native american theme overall with some tank work, have the vance/hines shorts, black mini-apes, custom black shocks. I almost ordered a lowering shock but I ride too many canyons here in Cali and didn't want to scrape the pipes. Happy riding!

  • @URBANAMERICANTAC ...thanks...I appreciate it.

  • hey bro nice bike, how do you like the new seat? is it comfortable?

  • yep...don't know why but I find it more comfortable than the stock seat and looks just about the same...maybe it has different material on the inside...thanks and have a good one.
