Man, i was so excited for this game when i first saw the trailer in like 2006, then this came out and it looked great, but the game was released and i was so utterly disappointed. Biggest disappointment in gaming for me.
I keep playing alan wake over and over just to see those eviroments. The game it self has been so overplayed now that I wouldn't play it for any over reason (completed it on nightmare 4 times, though I havn't got all the achievements yet)
no matter how much i like the linear version i would love to have the chance to walk trough bright falls freely and experience those weather changes and everything. i wish they could use all of that some other time , maybe even make it better...

They really should have kept the sandbox style... this game was not worth the 5 year wait. The graphics are the best part of this game. Everything else is a light mold of Resident Evil 4 and watered down Silent Hill. This is the first game this year I'm having buyers remorse- I really really wish I had waited til it was marked down from 60 to 30 before buying it. If you have never played RE or SH, you will absolutely love this. Otherwise it feels like a big cop out :(

this game is being ran on a multi core processor. Who knows if it will be this good if its for 360. the gameplay might not change but the SFX will. looks fun. Ive been waiting for this to come out for 2 years.

PC's have their own dedicated graphics cards, like 16x the amount of RAM as xbox 360/ps3, plus there are liquid cooled processors that are amazing. PC's kick consoles ass any time, any day.

As for the processor, intel quadcore is still a general purpose processor afterall, while X360 system is build specifically for games. The game was shown at IDF running on a quad-core processor, but not because Alan Wake will need a quad-core to work with full graphics, it was to show the computer. It was also running off a 7900GTX which is a DX9 card.
The problem with X360 (as any console) is the limited ram, but with some efficient techniques they can surpass it. After all Remedy is an AAA developer.
Heavy Rain is a movie, so im not really exited about it. It is also a completely different game than Alan Wake, so why do you compare them?
I have to say that i´d feel like wasting some of the game if i played it on a console. I´m getting this for pc. Plus i have to admit that i´m a ps3 owner. I still wouldn´t get this to a ps3 system if it was developed for it.
Why do PS3 fanboys even bother? This game features DX10, and the PS3 does not support it. Which means PS3 cant run this game. 360 supports some elements of DX10, so it will look great.
Wow! This game is simply breathtaking. The scenery is so beautiful and from the looks of it, it takes place in or around the Grand Canyon because I remember seeing that dam which is featured in the game. This is going to be very interesting.
This is a demo from Intel IDF 2007 on a Quad Core C2Q @ 3.73 Ghz with a 8800 GTX SLI, Way better than anything a 360 can put out. lol. It is coming out for PC as well, And will look so much better in 1200p :-D

The overall appearance is amazing. However, are the texture resolutions just as good? Like can you zoom in on a wall or floor and have it not look like crap? If so, that'd be completely wicked awesome. :) I hope this game gets creepy. Can't wait for the release.

this game is going to be downgraded for the 360..this demo uses a PC with 4 cpu cores..the 360 only has 3..Heavy rain is going to destroy this..loll

«Having several cores helps, but is not required, since you can run several processes on one thread. In the current plans the PC and 360 versions will be pretty identical. -

As for the processor, intel quadcore is still a general purpose processor afterall, while X360 system is build specifically for games. The game was shown at IDF running on a quad-core processor, but not because Alan Wake will need a quad-core to work with full graphics, it was to show the computer. It was also running off a 7900GTX which is a DX9 card.

The problem with X360 (as any console) is the limited ram, but with some efficient techniques they can surpass it. After all Remedy is an AAA developer.
Heavy Rain is a movie, so im not really exited about it. It is also a completely different game than Alan Wake, so why do you compare them?

I have to say that i´d feel like wasting some of the game if i played it on a console. I´m getting this for pc. Plus i have to admit that i´m a ps3 owner. I still wouldn´t get this to a ps3 system if it was developed for it.

Why do PS3 fanboys even bother? This game features DX10, and the PS3 does not support it. Which means PS3 cant run this game. 360 supports some elements of DX10, so it will look great.

Wow! This game is simply breathtaking. The scenery is so beautiful and from the looks of it, it takes place in or around the Grand Canyon because I remember seeing that dam which is featured in the game. This is going to be very interesting.

This is a demo from Intel IDF 2007 on a Quad Core C2Q @ 3.73 Ghz with a 8800 GTX SLI, Way better than anything a 360 can put out. lol. It is coming out for PC as well, And will look so much better in 1200p :-D

The overall appearance is amazing. However, are the texture resolutions just as good? Like can you zoom in on a wall or floor and have it not look like crap? If so, that'd be completely wicked awesome. :) I hope this game gets creepy. Can't wait for the release.
