  • I have been on this stuff for almost 2 months. I'm constantly sick and tired. I lost 10 pounds in one month. I get very agitated, impulsive, and can't concentrate at work. I have missed so much work ever since I got put on this drug, now I'm probably going to lose my job. I wish they would take this off the market.

  • @Aseffa18 Because the side effects of any drug or natural remedy are limitless. You can't limit the side effects to what the label says, or even to what every single person who has taken Celexa says happened to them.

  • I have been on it for two months & it doesn't help me as much as Lexapro did. Im going back on that soon. Also has anyone ever had any hair thining at all from taking Celexa? I have a full head of hair at 30 yrs old and never had any thining. It started within the past month or two.

  • No, this was not helpful. All you said in the 2 min is that the three main side effects are headaches, digestive issues, and sleep trouble. More information would be helpful. Maybe you could have mentioned that heightened suicidal thoughts is possible with teens and younger. I was switched off paxil to celexa because I felt too unaware of my surroundings. Could anyone tell me how celexa differs from paxil?

  • Can't stop counting this guys Blinks

  • Been taking Citalopram for approx 2years.

The nausea & headache passed after a few weeks

The 'spaced' feeling & drowsiness/sleep problems, passed after about a year, it didnt always happen.

Actually took around a year to get rid of my depression to what I consider a relatively normal baseline.

It made me incredibly anxious, depressed, suicidal and psychotic at first for a long time.

I dont think its the best antidepressant in the world at all, but research says it is...

  • @seeriktus Dont go by research says! Go by how you feel. Tell your doctor how you feel on this (It made me incredibly anxious, depressed, suicidal and psychotic at first for a long time) That is very important. I'm 41 and been on Citalopram for 6 years and changed my life, I've tried other depressent meds before this one and felt the same as you did. Doctors will experiment different meds until they find the 1 best for you on how you feel. Be honest!! on how you feel on these meds, It's worth it

  • ive been having the worst headaches on this drug. i need to take a heavy dose of cocodamol when i take these.

  • how is alcohol and celexa?

  • @patdel92 can lead to blackouts. keeping drinks in the 1-4 range never caused any problems for me.

  • @SmyDho69 blackouts as in yoru forget the whole night?? because teens do drink so could getting drunk every weekend harm you severly?

  • @patdel92 alcohol removes celexa from your blood into your urine.

so the day after youre going to be depressed/anxious

  • I have always had heart palpitations... So I'm not sure if the Celexa is making it worse or what? I had no luck with prozic or paxil or zoloft... all of those made me feel like I was on the edge of having a panic attack at all times. So what in the Celexa is different? And why is my heart all over the place I am 31yrs old besides that I have been feeling great. working out i feel great wheres before i felt dizzy on all other meds I also take valium.

  • @MsPurple666 I just took it for the first time Monday 1 pill 20mg celexa in the morning generic brand. I seemed a little jittery but thats all. I went to the gym to workout Legs and i went hard but couldnt finish because i was dizzy and nausas and my heart was slow was fast all over. I said its prolly just the leg workout i go home feel fine. Night time comes i try to sleep COULDNT! FELT JITTERY ANXIOUS SCARED TOSSING TURNING. My heart felt like it was skipping beats beating skipping weird.

  • cELEXA aKA cITALOPRAM... i hATE The Stuff I Had To Quit Taking It After I Started To See Things, Feel Suicidality Increasing, Anger Raging, And Rapid Heart Beat. Its Not Good Stuff.

  • @brainiacbelle How does Cannabis "Fuck you up"? And how is it harmful? Unlike Cannabis, you can overdoes from alcohol, and with cigarettes, you're basically breathing in toxic fumes. There has not been a single legitimate study showing any negative side effects to the drug. I agree that many people smoke it much to often, and need to moderate how much they consume. Yet, even so, the people who do in fact smoke Marijuana, have no health risks.

  • @Gatris66 Who uses the word hippy anymore? Lol. Hippies were in the 60's, sorry to tell you, but it's 2011. :] Buh bye.

  • @xXBlackTeddyBearXx

Cannabis is known to initiate chronic psychosis in susceptible individuals

  • @xXBlackTeddyBearXx I support marijuana. If it was legal to smoke in businesses, I would totally open up my own "marijuana" bar. Think about it. How many people would be sent to the hospital with bar fight related injuries? The down side though to pot is that it causes bronchitis in some people who smoke it, but for the most of us, no real problems. Personally, I would rather smoke marijuana for my anxiety disorder than use celexa, ativan etc.

  • The symptoms of Anxiety/Depression have many of the same symptoms as drug withdrawal.

When you stop taking these is it your anxiety or depression coming back or is it drug withdrawal? I asked my doctor how they distinguish which one it was and he said they can't.

  • @brainiacbelle "Cannabis is the worst thing you can ever take"

your tellin me beer, meth, heroin, oxys, and coke is better for you then bud?

  • 6 months ago I started with 10 mgs and it did nothing. I increased to 20 mg; still nothing. I am now on 40mgs and all I do is belch and fart. I have completely lost my sex drive and I am now edgy, often angry, and am paranoid as hell. Thank you CELEXA.

  • @mikesterSTLMO wow hope you okay now

  • Placebo?

  • Celexa=unicorn

  • umm doctor !! you forgot to mention in your video LOSS OF LIBIDO .. all the others can be managed ..

  • I have been tittering between feeling like a crack head and a zombie for the past 3 days. One minute I feel like jumping out of my skin (restless, jittery, antsy, and can only sleep for an hour) then next I feel like "nothing" (no appetite, tired, foggy, blank). Don't really like this med, may try something different. Oh yeah...the stomach problems are fantastic too...sigh!

  • Welbutrin works great for me. The only side effect I expereice is I tend to urinate more and a little loss of appetite. I did get a tiny bearable headache the first day but the seond day they went away. I don't feel sleepy or increase in hunger like other antidepressants.

  • how about weight gain

  • Yes, unfortunately you can get weight gain. Lots of people experience this side effect...This is coming from a nursing student, FYI

  • forgot to say that it is PRESUMED to inhibit the re-uptake of serotonin and has not been proven to do so.

  • @jungleboards

has any anti-depressant been proven to actually work? last i heard it was all just a guess. the brain is a complicated thing we are only beginning to understand.

  • jungleboards and pezcore68

Yes they do work. I felt better after 3 weeks after taking them and I'd had a nervous breakdown. They stop reuptake of serotonin at the synaptic gap thereby creating more serotonin for the brain feel good factor. However they DON'T make you better. They make you feel better so your body hormones respond positively, and when you hopefully come off the drug your good feel factors will continue. Being depressed causes lots of chemical changes in the body.

  • ya u guys ever gonna consider cannabis and its healing extracts so we can get back our friends save them from themselves

  • side effects usually come in three areas...are you forgetting about the sexual side effects?

  • uoykcufxxxkj For everyone's info. Side affects on 150mg and over. More frequent migraines. Loss of libido Sleep disorders - bizarre dreams. Withdrawal from the drug Less migraines (75mg ok) Libido restored No relief from sleep disorders - bizarre dreams Head Zaps (odd sensations in head) Dizziness Tiredness Depression It has taken a great deal of willpower and my own withdrawal regime to get down to 10mg which I am on now. I have XR capsules and remove some of the contents
