@davidchen128 Thanks! This was an easy video to make. Ren is so stupidly broken, he practically plays himself. I agree - his C3-ex is superior to Kunoichi's C2-1 spam for crowds and officer pileups.

@RydainDarkstar Cao Ren's C2-EX kills faster than Kunoichi's C2-1, C2-1. Kunoichi needs rage to kill officers in one C2-1. For instance, Kunoichi spend time to get to red health. Cao Ren can kill many officers already in this time interval, so Cao Ren is a lot faster than Raged Kunoichi. People worship her is because of her invisibility.

@BurritoHoe Use a DVD recorder or a capture device that takes audio/video output from the TV and plugs into your computer's USB port. If you record a DVD, you can rip it to video on your computer. I made my vids with a Dazzle (a USB device), with the music turned off in the game's option menu so I could add different music later on. Whatever method you choose, there are tutorials all over the place to help you out.

I'm not sure how i feel about giving my Cao Ren range. His 2 main moves don't seem to benefit much from it...

It depends on what you want to do with him. The only purpose of Range is to make C2-ex especially abusable for musou replenishment with Absorb. As you can see at a few points in the video, C2-ex + Range can Absorb more musou than the C2-ex cost in the first place.

Give Ren Brave instead, and C2-ex will OHKO boar generics and still Absorb to some extent. C3-ex is, of course, godly with either build, and it Absorbs well because it hits so much of the screen at once.

No, I don't know any Japanese. I used Black Kite's Musou Orochi translation FAQ, which you can find under PS2 Warriors Orochi on GameFAQs, to understand the abilities, weapon elements, and most of the menus. Most of this hasn't changed in WO2. My weapon FAQ, under PS2 Warriors Orochi 2 on GameFAQs, explains the new menus for making enchantments and attaching them to weapons.

The big blue guy is Shin Orochi. He seems to have a pretty fast offense. I'm not sure whether he's better than Cao Ren in regular gameplay because I haven't figured out his best play style yet. Regardless of who wins, I don't predict much practical difference between the two. Either should be able to KO any officer (or pileup thereof) quite efficiently.

I haven't tried versus mode, but I probably will soon when people are around to play it with me.

Technique characters can do -ex charges by pressing R1 instead of triangle. Normally, this just speeds up the charge attack. Each tech character has a special -ex charge, which does something different. Cao Ren gets two of these - C2-ex (the purple shockwave bomb) and C3-ex (the six-round spread shot Mega Buster used against various enemies, including Shin Orochi).

The entire weapon enchantment system, including Tenbu, is new in this game.

C3-ex self-replenishes in dense crowds. I'm not sure that it refills as efficiently as C2-ex, but it can definitely pay for itself.

From what I can understand of the incompletely scanned guide book on Koei Warriors, Cao Ren's second -ex charge is a rarity. It looks like Koei wanted him to be absurdly overpowered in MO:MS.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked myself.  People said Cao Ren got buffed, but I hadn't expected him to be a god tier spammer. I guess Koei wanted Rockman to have his turn in the Spotlight of Sheer and Utter Brokenness.

And I guess they never noticed the flinch bug because it isn't as obvious as some others, like the Agility strike point glitch. I wonder if there's any official channel for Koei game bug reports.

Max abilities took me about a week, but I wasn't really working at getting them done. I went back and forth between completing battles, unlocking abilities, and just goofing around. I maxed Cao Ren's proficiency over the weekend right after I unlocked him. He was so easy to kick ass with right from the get go, I couldn't put him down.

Thanks. ^_^ That wasn't all me though. C2-ex is easier to aim in this game. People probably complained about its learning curve. I need to test further to verify, but it sometimes seems to target officers as well.

To answer your question from your PM - this run was quite easy to do because Cao Ren's -ex charges are so uber. Regardless of where officers are (by themselves, clumped, within crowds), Rockman can obliterate them without requiring much thought. His high defense and flinch resistance weapon enchants let him Leeroy like crazy and barely get scratched. The only tricky part was one-shotting Shin Orochi, as I'm not yet practiced enough to do that consistently.

Keiji fights pretty well in WO. When maxed, he can quickly take out most generics in a full C3 charge sequence (slash smash cackle). He seems about the same this time around. I don't have him set up for maximized attack yet, so I'm not sure how long it takes him to beat up big boss critters like Shin Orochi. Keiji was one of my mains for Orochi's storyline.

Nice video. I didn't even notice the no-flinching bug, to be honest. I don't get why they gave Megaman an EX move that mows down everything in its path, but decided to make Ina's and SSX's arrows not stun officers.

I never noticed the bug either until someone on GameFAQs pointed it out to me, and I ran through the entire cast to see who else had it.

The Mega Buster is Cao Ren's signature attack. He was so underrated in WO because C3 did crap damage and many people never got comfortable with his melee reach and speed. I guess Koei responded by turning him into a mobile gun turret. As to why they nerfed SSX and Ina - I got nothin'.
