  • @gooman989898 You are sooooooo dumb dude.lol

  • Hi! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • fantastic!!!!!

  • Dear Chet,

If you would cover Dragon Force's "Fire and Flames" I would be most grateful.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Gooman

  • @gooman989898 Chet passed away several years ago...

  • I have no doubt its CA. chet loved music and loved all songs and even those written by others. His whole career he covered the music of others from every decade and genre ...ever heard of mister sandman[ a cover ]...HELLO!!!!

  • @bLAStSuCaRTa It irks me no end when people try to stand there and tell me my postings are not Chet, when I pulled them directly off Chet's records. Geeesh!!

  • blondie grandma would enjoy.

  • If that's Chet Atkins, then I'm Eric Clapton. And I'm not Eric Clapton. Eric Clapton is.

  • @torkildsteen What do you mean "IF" it's Chet? It most definitely IS Chet. I took the cut right off his album "Country After All These Years."

Question: Why would it NOT be Chet? What makes you question or doubt?

  • @daffydoug Because he's got fuck all else to do ??? Maybe he's thinking Baker ??? Anyway what a silly man.

  • @scatmando Agreed.

man, I've been listening to Chet's records for dang near 45 years, and here comes this dude out of nowhere telling me I don't know a Chet cover when I hear one. Geeesh. Give me a break.

  • @torkildsteen This most definitely Chet Atkins. If you had ever listened to any of Chet's music you could tell it is indeed him. Clapton can't touch this on his best day or in his wildest dream.

  • Pretty cool. Didn't know this one existed.

  • What a cool arrangement. The man's mind was wide open, musically speaking. I suppose these days it would be easy to manipulate and edit an acoustic guitar using software and produce something that sounds similar to this. But only Chet could perform it live. Every time you see him play he makes it look so effortless...

  • The man played what sounded good to him that is why he had a wide range.

  • this is such an awsome stumble upon but yeah theres a midi afoot..

  • I guess you knew you did a big hit when Chet Atkins covered your song. He adds a nice "loveboat" ring to it...

  • Debbie Harry had to be chuffed about this. Imagine being able to say that Chet Atkins covered one of your tunes.

  • This was an acoustic version of Heart of Glass originally sung by Blonde! Chet was the master of the guitar as no other performer was better.

  • I think chet is dead. he doesn't appear to be moving at all..........He just has the same expression throughout the entire video.

  • @717021 lol

  • anyone know what album this was on?

  • my god, i thought i heard every tune by chet, he still surprises me.......

  • @exsoundus Every tune? Well, I did some counting recently, and there is well over a thousand!

  • Who disliked this? Ridiculous. Chet is the king.

  • how in the fuck does he do it!?

  • @holden415 He's Chet.

  • @holden415

    really...?

  • @holden415 You asked. I told you.

  • @holden415 Figuring out the vocal melody of a given song is actually not as hard as most people think (though it does take time).

However, adding a bassline that fits is much harder and requires a lot of experience with music.

    Mr. Bojangles for life!

  • you know what bothers me? It's that the people who have committed the biggest atrocities in history will most likely be rememberd for centuries but great musicians are easily forgotten.

  • @BitOveRate My purpose in creating this channel is so that Chet will NEVER be forgotten.

  • @daffydoug Much respect for doing so, and i have to add anyone who has listened to Mr. Guitar surely knows it's impossible to forget such a man and his music.

  • @BitOveRate Amen.

  • Chet did stuff like this because HE COULD. The man had music all over his body, and I love listening to ANYTHING he plays.

  • @beautifulsarah100 Amen! Couldn't have said it better myself!

  • Gosh, I can't shake the pure beauty in his art, rest in peace Mr. Atkins.

  • The words to this song creep me out for some reason.

  • In response to the MIDI music post, Chet himself said that when he switched labels he tried to switch styles to be more marketable. I've been a Chet fan since 1962 (4 years old!), and I didn't like that period that much myself. Chet shoulda played Chet, but he did so many different things, look at Chet picks on the Beatles!

  • I know both artist's work. chet is a man for all seasons musically he has had a go at much, where as merle is for me blues based, and more raw too, right to the core. I was drunk last night , won t be posting much again!

  • Or let's see Merle play Chet's arrangement of "Truck Driver Blues", or "St Louis Blues", or "Blues For Dr Joe" or many of the DOZENS of blues numbers that Chet recorded through the years. I think his track RECORD over the years is sufficient to PROVE that Chet could play blues very, VERY well. And his classical album (Class Guitar") speaks for itself that he could do that, too. And not to mention the one he recorded with Liona Boyd, John Knowles, and John Pell. I beg to differ, but Chet

  • @daffydoug proved through the years that he could play ANYTHING, blend with ANY kind of band, orchestra, group, or sound like a one man band playing alone. Let's see Merle Travis play and keep up with the Boston pops orchestra. That would be a laugh!

  • THX CHET

  • i like the thought that ol' chet could play anything but i think he had problem getting into rocknroll

  • Who made the original version ?

  • @johndeaconisahero Blondie

  • this style is not as hard as people think it sounds a lot harder than it really is. its taken me only 1 year of really playing freestyle fingerstyle and i can play chet's songs. they do take a couple weeks but not years.... they become more fun each time because its constant learning and understanding what chet does.

  • Somebody shoot me for not mentioning Jerry Reed!!

  • I'll never burn my guitars or give up. To continue to try, acknowledges and pays respect to the master that is Chet Atkins. What a rare talent, and truely a Country Gentleman. Atkins, Travis, Yandell, Knopfler - in the world of guitar these men are treasures!

  • what a cool dude. Covered it all. Eric Clapton, Dylan, the Dead, only think they had a lot of range. He mastered all the genres. If he were still around he would probably be onto Techno, Indian music, African rhythms, etc.

  • @chillster414 Agreed!!!

  • @chillster414 Spot on buddy!

  • @chillster414 Death metal ala Chet Atkins!

  • Great sound Chet! very peaceful sound. Thanks for the music...

  • Great sound Chet...wish you have live longer... Thank you for the wonderful music you left us. I Love all your guitar pieces.

  • just wanting the world to know, after finding this... an ex-aspiring guitar player, with 8 yrs classical, and 3 yrs jazz training, overall experience of 34 yrs of playing (of my 41 years of age)... giving to highest bidder 11 guitars and 5 amps. make offer. i quit.

  • Why do you quit? I don't understand.

  • because listening to chet atkins depresses most guitarists. Most know that they will never be as good as Mr. Chester Atkins.

  • i find it rather inspiring actually :P

  • I think because this will never be topped. Makes me wanna burn my guitar.

  • @elletsco My friend, perhaps some time on your knees would heal your wounds. It healed mine. I encourage you to try it.

  • @elletsco

that is silly.do you think atkins would agree with you???? stop beating yourself up...chet could be humble....he rightly knew that he could n t hold a candle to the classical players and in doing so knew his place. he is good (can t play blues like merle and i think he should have picked better friends then bush n reagan.

  • @elletsco

    that is silly.

do you think atkins would agree with you???? stop beating yourself up...chet could be humble....he rightly knew that he could n't hold a candle to the classical players and in doing so knew his place. he is good (can t play blues like merle travis tho, and i think he should have picked better friends then bush n the other president.. whats that got to do with music I hear you say... everything!!!

  • @sightsizemethod Can't play blues like Merle Travis? Are you aware he and Merle made an album TOGETHER playing , among other things BLUES? And he held a candle VERY WELL to Merle. Or rather, Merle tried to hold a candle to Chet.

And let's see Merle pull off the Jerry Reed composition "A little Bit of Blues" like Chet did. Chet's pickin' left Merle in the dirt on that one.

  • @sightsizemethod Chet could more than hold his own with classical players.

The fact that he was friends with Reagan and Bush shows that not all musicians have to be left wing kooks

    like the majority are now.

Chet was the best. End of story!

  • @EddieEstes Chat could blend with just about any group of instrumentalists. And hold his own. I love classical guitar, and I play a lot of it, but how many classical guitarists could pull of Chet's licks? But he could pull off theirs. Or how many classical guitarists can improvise and blend in with other bands and just play licks improvised off the melody? Not a whole lot of them, because most of them depend on memorized pieces.

  • Chet just gets my day started right.

  • omg, love Blondie, love Chet, I'm having an eargasm! Thanks for the sweet post :)

  • daffydoug, this song is off my favorite album of his that i lost years ago called country after all these years. et's record shop cant find me one either. wouldnt have an extra copy somewhere, would ya?

  • Got it on my hard drive...

  • sounds like Midi music to me. Chet has a better ear than this

  • @oldpeculiar Sounds nothing like Midi

  • @colotron ok man I hold my hands up and plead guilty.

  • @oldpeculiar .......good!

  • @oldpeculiar that's why it sounds like midi music to you but not to him

  • @oldpeculiar this was pre-midi fyi

  • @oldpeculiar that midi sound at the beginning sounds more like really clean harmonics to me

  • This man is the ultimate Guitar Hero God!!!!

  • Just goes to show how versatile this great guitarist was. There's nothing Chet couldn't do.

  • That's what iIve always said!

  • He was always his own accompanist ! And amazing as always. So light on the strings, he plucks the notes like bouquets from the garden, effortless, quiet and from the heart.

  • awesome that he would venture into this genre. the song sounds great. thanks for sharing. 7 of 10 (Blondie is 10 of 10, or course).

  • one of the best covers I've ever heard.

  • Prooves that he listened to contemporary musicf too. Would to have loved to hear him play some green day and other new acts.

  • Chet had an EAR for just aboug anything good, musicwise. They said he had the best ear in Nashville, and I have to agree!

  • You're not wrong, daffydoug. I've loved him since 1964.....

  • I really don't know as far a Kottke...

  • Amazing stuff as usual from CA.

Did Leo Kottke ever cover it?
