  • They could have added this they use it to great success (as well as a duet version of God Help the Outcasts) in the stage version.

  • She is greatly missed by many.

  • Beautiful Song and Beautiful Singer. RIP.

  • RIP Laurie Beechman (1998)

  • Love this song

  • I wish this version was in the credits of the movie instead.

  • Beautiful song.Love the lyrics, very deep.

  • A very nice song, but I think they chose well in taking "God help the outcasts".

  • I ADORE this song, but-

I agree that God Help the Outcasts just fits better. They're both beautiful songs with messages people should listen to...

  • this song was actually in the end credits of the movie. i looovvee it :)

  • God Help the Outcasts was written first, then they decided to try an ANTHEM-like song, more about justice, which Esmerelda longed for. The new song was SOMEDAY and you can hear the original demo for the song on Youtube. They went with "God Help" but they liked this song so much they tried to find a spot for it, but it was too late. Menken used the melody throughout the film. The emotion fits the deepest meaning of the film. Compassion, Love, Justice.

It's wonderful in the German Musical!

  • this is a really hopeful and encouraging song. while it's absolutely wonderful, god help the outcasts was just PERFECT for the mood of the movie :D

  • im in my schools christmas carol concert and this is one of the songs and we have split it up into 3 and its so beautiful!

  • It's very beautiful, but God Help the Outcasts is more fitting to the theme of the film. This song is too hopeful for such a dark film.

  • i love this song~i don't know somewhat this song makes me feel comfort when i feel lousy=)

  • That was lovely!

  • this song is just so beautiful... But it isn't really as close to what the story was about as "God help the Outcasts" was. The latest was indeed a right choice for the film, while this would find an excelant place in the end credits.

  • @johnbaptistlulu Though, the pop version used in the credits is quite honestly, not nearly as good as this one or the original version. :/

  • this song is absolutely amazing. i wish they had picked this instead of 'outcasts.'

  • My first movie at theaters

  • i like it, even though i think the version by All-4-One is better.

  • I like it, and may she r.i.p. But I think the Celtic Women version is better (it's just what I think, that's what we call opinion).

  • aww deberias subir esta version para bajarla por que no la encuentro T-T y esta preciosa

    ATT. una fan Mexicana

  • beautiful!

  • They should have kept this song!!!!

  • The tune is Esmeralda's theme in the movie. You can hear it as she's going to comfort Quasimodo after he's been mistreated harshly at the Festival of Fools.

  • Wow... i just felt really somber after hearing that...

  • Lovely...bravo, Laurie, you are still missed here in NYC.

  • does anybody know where I can find this song by Laurie Beechman?

  • Yeah, she has an album called No One Is Alone and this song is on there. I've got the CD and it's a fantastic album in it's own right.

  • @shaheenahmad90

    It's on her last album!

  • Too bad it wasn't in the movie, but it's in the German stage version. Esmeralda sings it as she's being led to the stake.

  • It makes me cry every time...

  • this is such an amazing song in itself, the message is great. I also agree with duchovny2 - chloe agnew has such an angelic voice, i think celtic woman's version is even better, even though this one is good too.

  • I realize this is the original version, but you must listen to Chloe Agnew sing this song. She does it justice.

  • this is such a pretty song!!!! i love this version!!! i saw this movie when i was like 5... i dont remember it...

  • my mom never let me watch this cuz my coz has a hunchback and my mom thought that i shouldnt watch it

  • but this movie shows that every human has the same rights.. wit or without hunchback O.o

    I can´t understand your mom^^

  • What's wrong with hunchbacks?

    They're people just like us.

  • nothings wrong with them thats what i'm saying my coz is lke that and my mom didnt let me watch this cuz she thought how they played out the movie in the begning was bad cuz of how the ppl treated him

  • D'; she should have finished it--- the message behind the film is so beautiful and inspirational.

:] its good that we all get the message though <3

  • It's a pretty song but I have to admit that the spanish version is much better . it is called Sueña (dream). just beautiful, heart touching.

  • I wish I could sing like this. I haven't got a good range of notes, but I can just sing this song if I move it down and octive.

  • i'm doing this beaitiful song for my 15!!!

  • I like all 4 one version better.

  • i love this!! :)

i hope we do it for band

  • wow, the power in her voice!! wish i could do that!!! thankx 4 this!!!

  • The ending = amazing.

  • where singing this song for choir I LOVE IT!

  • i love celtic women's version of this, thats were i first herd it but this is lovly too!!! i also love god help the outcasts.

  • RIP Laurie such a sad loss u will live on though forever <3

  • I've grown to admire Laurie Beechman and indeed her voice and charisma will be missed in the stages of Broadway. And this version surpasses All for One's. Just one question though, where did you find this version? Limewire?

  • I enver knew god help the outcasts was chosen instead...a ise descision in my opinion becuase that song works bettr in context, although there should have been space for this masterpeice in there somwhere too.

  • I like this song but I don't really like any of the versions I've heard, very oversung. Pretty song tho.

  • First of all, this is a great song whoever sings this. I love it. It inspires me unlike other songs with a bright outlook on the future when things in the world may look bleak...

But anyway, I've listened to quite a few versions of this song by various artists and I say you'd probably love them all if you hear it.

Chloe agnew version - angelic, innocent

    Eternal - Soulful, emotional

    All 4 One - Harmonic

Laurie Beechman - reflective, open hearted. I *feel* the words translate the best here.

  • This is a beautiful song, Celtic Woman do a beautiful version of this song.

  • I finally found this song. Its on the album "No One Is Alone" by Laurie Beechman, and its surprisingly cheap on Amazon. And if you haven't wiki'ed Laurie Beechman yet, you should.

  • do anyone noe where i can get this song? i looked for it, but can't find it...

  • contemporary disney 50 songs by hal leonard

very taste selection, reflection, when somebody loved me, if i never knew you, go the distance etc...

  • Limewire - it usually has most songs xD

  • I have The same first name as the singer, though my teachers cannot say it properly.

  • Im singing this song in my singing lessons its so hard to do the high notes!

  • Sorry it's backwards, lol

  • This song is beautiful. I loved the movie as well.

  • WAAH!!! this movie makes me cry!!! I think Quasi is awesome!!! but this vid is cool! keep it up! *sob*

  • She sounds like Laura Branigan, beautiful voice.

  • WoOoOoW it's wonderful!!!! i love it!!!

does anyone have the lyrics??? please!!

  • Someday when we are wiser

    When the world's older

    When we have learned

I pray someday we may yet live

    To live and let live...

  • Someday life will be fairer

    Need will be rarer

    And greed will not pay

God speed in this bright milennium

On its way, let it come someday.

  • Someday our fight will be won then

We'll stand in the sun then

    That bright afternoon

Til then on days when the sun is gone

We'll hang on, wish upon the moon.

  • There are some days dark and bitter,

Seems we haven't got a prayer,

But a pray for someday better

Is the one thing we all share.

(tho apparently that, the best part of the song, wasn't in this version).

  • I prefer Chloe Agnew's/Celtic Woman's version.

  • the version you like is only beautiful sound there, no music

  • I love someday, granted I'm used to hearing in a sorta breathy childish voice o' hope.

Anyway, I think I might like Outcasts a tad better as it seems to fit that more depressed and desperate tone hidden away in it. Someday has always been a hopeful song to me.

  • I love the image you used at the end! Very beautifully done! Laurie Beechman and her beautiful voice will always live on!

  • always blows me away...laurie beechman's voice will live on forever!

  • this song is so pretty:)

  • Lovely singing but I still prefer the Outkast song.

  • This is amazing, her voice is gorgeous, she will surely be forever remembered.

  • This is just so incredibly beautiful ;_;. It's so sad..I must think about the book (which had a much more tragic ending). I just love the story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. And this song <3.

  • Can't believe I found this. I've always wondered about this song, since it was so good. I figured it did get cut. The credits version was great too! I still like God Help the Outcasts, and I guess they did have to choose between the two since that was the only time she could really sing a solo. So great how they matched her voice with Demi's huskiness. :)

  • that was beautiful - outcasts was good but this is brilliant!

  • why did they change it too the awful "outcasts"? Someday is by far superior

  • has someone the lyrics?????? please!!!!

  • Wow! I had no idea she was supposed to sing this, i just knew it was in the credits. Thanks for posting it.

  • her voice is awesome, may she rest in peace

  • i absolutely love her voice!!

  • thank you , i'm looking for this clip for long time

  • *cries* I've loved this song since I was like, five. I've never heard this version before though, so thanks for putting it up. It gives me another recording to compare when I sing it in a few months :) Thanks!

  • Very very beautiful. It is way better than Eternal's version. Her voice matches the song more.

  • wow it beautiful its really calm and lovly (l)

  • This song is so beautiful and the singer is amazing. however, chloe agnew is a celtic singer and she sings this song too. check it out!

  • i like this song bt god help the outcasts fitted the scene better, was this the end credits song? it sounds familiar

  • Yeah, it was the song in the end credits. : D

  • Such a fantastic, touching and great version! ^^

  • This song is so beautiful:)

  • I like this, but I like the other better, at least for the scene in the movie.

    That's a really powerful voice...

  • Beautiful, but I think the song chosen was more fitting for that particular part in the movie!

  • Wow...just..wow. Laurie has such a beautiful voice. She sings this so freaken beautifully. Such passion. Not a fan of the trumpet though.

  • i think Hbond should be a broadway musical

  • beautiful

  • I wish they'd chosen this song instead...it's gorgeous.

  • Amazing disney movie, one of the greatest!!

  • Wonderful song. And that happens to be my fave Disney movie.

  • wow...what can i say...beautiful

  • *sniff* that was amazing!

  • celtic woman also does a beautiful rendition of this song look at it and compare videos

  • Very beautiful song.

  • Maravillosa canciòn, uno de los mejores temas de pelìculas, una joya!!!!

  • Wow. That gave me goosebumps. Great vid!

  • this helps alot i have to play this song on the piano and from hearing this i'm doing pretty damn good!! :)

  • Awsome video, love the song

  • I tried looking this song because i found it in my disney piano book.. thnx for the upload

  • omg... I'm totally speachless... ;__;

  • i have this movie but the song was by a man i dont know his name ..it was really nice with his voice ..this one is touchy also:)

  • ¡Es una auténtica preciosidad de canción! Es una lástima que al final no la incluyeran dentro de la película. Pero por lo menos, la grabaron... y es todo un regalo para los oídos. What a wonderful song! Unfortunatly it wasn't included in the film :( Thanks to Heaven, it was recorded with this incredible voice. Thanks!

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of MY favorite Disney films also, and it's unfortunate that it's always overlooked. I'd never heard of Laurie Beecham before this clip. She has such a beautiful voice; what a tragic loss for Broadway.

  • Thank you dfor this nice vid .

  • thanks for posting this, a real treat

  • The is a beautiful song with an even prettier message the firmly believe- peace on earth will come one day. :) I wish they'd used this version for the film's end credits too. I love it!!!! :)

  • *sigh* I love this song, but I really really dislike the R'n'B version, Do any of you have the lyrics for this? Cos' now I really want them..

  • This is my favorite disney movie too. I went to Notre Dame a few weeks ago and I was suprised how beautifuly realistic this movie is. You can actually believe that a hunchback lived in the belltower. The doors are tiny but the gargoyles are huge.

  • He didn't live in the belltower??

    ouch there go my dreams:(

  • I love this! Thank you so much for posting this! My eyes are getting teary from listening to her!

  • This is my favorite Disney movie. It was always overlooked, but has always been able to strike a chord in me that the others just can't. I love God Help The Outcasts, but this would have been just as wonderful in its place. I really wish they would have stuck with Laurie's version of this song instead of All-4-One's on the soundtrack. Her voice is gorgeous, and the instrumental background is so much nicer than the R&B stuff. Thank you for posting this!

  • You red my mind Moonlight
