Analogue is always the way to go.. not digital.. but getting a good and variable delay from analogue can be so hard .. this pedal will fit well in an analogue setup and it has such a lot to offer.. thumbs up
Does PGS or anyone know of any new sound on sound loopers planned for issue this year or early next year? I am currently looking into buying the flashback delay for the loop function alone as it has such an easy accessible looper function when working live, with 40secs and with no double tapping and such a small footprint this is the one at the moment. Id appreciate any info!?
@Linsenpuppe The point of the switch is offering different sub divisions... if you want eigth notes you would just use the quarter note function and double the speed.
@FinalSkyz: It is a song by Danish Tim Christensen called Secrets on Parade. Check out his live recordings from Abbey Road. Amazing music, THUMB THIS UP!
If TC lets you guys do more toneprints for the Flashback, will you please do a dark analog delay with a hint of smooth chorus to sound like an MXR Carbon Copy
@hackett999 Was wondering myself for ages, nobody covers it. Check out the official TC Electronics demonstration, it's a long video so if you've heard it all, just skip to 17:05 for the bit about the looping. 40 seconds of loop time and unlimited overdubs... pretty damn good if you ask me.
Hi I am kind of new to guirtar pedals I went ahead and got the line 6 dl4 like it a lot but its so big I dont put it on my pedal board end up not using cos of that so I decided to change it for smaller was looking at hardwire dl8 but then went to music store guy showed me this one says it better can I get any help on this please opinions on it?
@alejo2564 This one. MXR Carbon Copy has terrible quality control issues (they keep breaking) and so does the Line 6 DL-4 (I had two, took real good care of them - but the knobs start sliding off and the loop mode just broke down in one... all by itself?!?!). TC has always been known as reliable (had a 25+ year old TC Chorus/Flanger and it's still going strong and works quirk-free!). I'm getting the Flashback for my keyboard setup.
can you record a loop, let it keep repeating and then play any type of delay on top of it? Or does the loop stop once you choose something other than the loop mode?
Hey, I have a question, does any mode of the Flashback oscillate in pitch when you move the "time" knob? this should be more notorious with a large feedback... Thanks
$169 -- wow, that's a great price and a lot lower than I thought it would be. My main question is, other than size and price, what are the main reasons to buy this versus the Nova Delay?
Great sounding pedal and review. Seen these being demo'd too at Andertons and look really intriguing. Need to build a pedal board and one of these might go on there. Btw liked the "Blame it on the Tetons" bit =)
I have a question about that Stereo out. Can I plug an Amp to the "Mono" out and another Amp to the "Stereo" out and it works just like a Left out and a Right out? Stereo two-amp delay?
excellent Delay pedal, i own one, i tried about 20 different delay pedals from other makers and this ranks quite high along with the vox Time Machine.
Andy, I'm not a stalker or anything, but I prefer videos where we get to see you play. Just staring at a screen where the pedal just sits there isn't very interesting. Can't you put the pedal in the lower right hand of the screen or something?
@sparrow1133 Normally if you are using an amp with parallel fx loop, you need a wet unit. So the kill dry is very usefull. I would like to hear some samples too of this pedal in the parallel fx loop of an amp.
@mynameistheman12345 It has a feature called audio tapping. You strum the tempo and the pedal picks it up. This is very useful in the dotted eighth note mode. We'll cover it shortly! Thanks,
How can anyone choose a delay with so many good ones out there? Every time I think I'm set on one, another demo comes out and I'm back to the drawing board.
Hey, Andy< I know you are in a band right? What is it called. I used to live in PDX, and I would like to know if I ever saw you. You are a great guitar player. Thank you for the greatest, most reliable demos on the net!
@Euphoriaman I completely agree...but The Flashback actually has the audio tapping feature that the Nova has. Hold down the switch and "tap" the tempo by strumming your guitar strings. Then release the switch and you have set your tempo. Pretty cool feature. I'm not sure why Andy didn't cover that one...kind of important if you ask me.
I like how the voice-over guy alternates between sounding like a 'classic rock' dj and a straight 1960's announcer. "Hey groovy guys, here's the new rock sensation! Buy, buy, buy!" I hope YouTube charges for these advertisements.
