its crazy. im in a seperate orchestra away from school but it isnt county orchestra. but anyway, if u apply urself u can sound just like this recording. my orchestra im in played this and it sounds exactly the same as this clip all except we had cymbols in a few sections. grades 9 thru 12 are in this group and its unbelieveable what sound we can produce.
Farandole is a national, not a ballet dance, and conductor Peter Stern played him only as the music for the hearing. Too high rate makes an unreal opportunity to dance. The beauty of Bizet's melodies still remains, but a false virtuosity captivates unsophisticated music listeners. So my video with the French city of Lille orchestra is much closer to a good performance than any other, on Yu-Tube.
@vladi565 I`ve watch your video, and despite the fact that a live recording had faded some of the instruments, I didn`t find any relevand difference. ( I consider myself as a unsophisticated listener". However, I don`t understand that`s a some sort of competition to choose wich version is the "best"! I`ve been listen lots of versions, I like them all, but some give more pleasure then another. Thank you for your comment and thank you for your video. That was really amazing indeed.
played this my sophomore year of high school and we knocked the socks off of that place. I can't say it was of this quality, but it was great for high schoolers
Superficial use of music, like a lightweight version of the operetta. There is no passion, nor fascinated rhythm. Positive responses are, apparently, to the composer, not the performance. The conductor did not cope with this track.
@vladi565 I disagree. I my opinion this conduction of Peter Stern is one of the most exciting I ever seen. If you have a example of another conduction, please, post the link, I I`d like listen improve may parameter of comparison.
I heard this as a child -- must have been nine or ten years old -- on some "best of classical music" compilation and adored it. But I lost the tape and didn't know the piece's name until a couple of days ago. Twenty years later and it still blows me away. I'm overjoyed to hear it again.
@Sechat. I knew this also as a Provencale Christmas Carol, translated: "Break of day, as I went on my way, I met 3 Kings who were Eastern sages, At break of day as I went on my way, I met 3 Kings in all their grand array. And first of all came the guards so tall, And with them were the 30 little pages, And 1st of all came the guards so tall, and with them 30 little pages all!" It's a wonderful piece of music, my youth orchestra played this with gusto, and the kiddie's choir loved singing it!!
