helmuth won most of his bracelets when the fields were less then 500 people. hell his main event win only had 178 players in it. Helmuth plays ABC poker, and he hasnt adapted to todays game. I wouldnt even put helmuth in the top 50 holdem players.

anyone who talks down phil hellmuth really doesnt know what theyre doing. hellmuth is a very well respected player, anyone who disagrees is a moron. just look at all his bracelets and even more important, other tournament success.

What I don't get is why people have so much hatred for Moneymaker? He doesn't claim to be the best player. He's not arrogant. He's not rude. He's a nice, humble guy who ended up winning the WSOP one year.
Despite that, people just continue to spew hateful insults about him. I think it says more about those people than it does about Moneymaker.

@larrymcg421 I couldnt agree with you more, also I have read his book about his progress through the WSOP 2003, and he really paints himself as a humble average pokerplayer who have no experience in a live big tournament. The fact that he won comes from both luck and great plays from Moneymaker, and no matter how you turn it you dont get to the final table with luck alone. He is a great player, and the fact that his not arrogant or anything, that makes me enjoy watching him play.
