  • i woul like mat to Magically Find the rare effects pedal so they could play this live again!

  • What a vocalist. Nothing he does in the studio he can't do live.

  • @filmagettin Except City of Delusion and Sing For Absolution.

  • @sippe555 What do you mean? What happen with City of Delusion and Sing For Absolution at live?

  • @alexla222 Have you listened to them live?

  • @sippe555 I listened both yesterday, you were right, i feel dissapointed :(, why cant he sing those songs in the same way that in studio? Those notes are too high for him? But in the song Cave, at chorus, i think that note is higher than the note in sing for absolution...and he can sing that note perfectly. Sorry for my bad english, im from Argentina, i hope you understandd what i mean.

  • @alexla222 the high note in Cave is actually the same note as the high ones in Sing For Absolution, A4. He can hit them, but they are just on the edge of his range. And he hasn't sung Cave in the original key since 2002 or something, which explains why he did that and not the Sing For Absolution notes. When Cave was brought back in 2009, the key was lowered and he sang G#4s instead of A4s.

  • @sippe555 I ve just listened to cave in 2009, you are right, but why has he lowered to G#4? Is something related with his age? He is not able to sing at A4 anymore because he is older? :-( thanks for the explanation dude :D

  • @alexla222 Yeah, while he has improved a lot technically, he has also had to work harder for those high notes. He still has the same range, he just doesn't get there as easily. And if a song sounds good lowered a step, then I can understand why he would do it, especially with such a hard song as Cave. But he can still hit those notes, he has actually hit his highest chest notes just in the last year. B4, something he never did when he was younger, not that I know anyway.

  • @sippe555 So, why he cant sing the highest note in sing for absolution? is he afraid to not hit the note correctly? because of your explanation he can sing at that note, i am reffering specifically the part when he says "Our wrongs remain unrectified"...

  • @alexla222 That last chorus has always been on the edge of his range, and probably the hardest song they have when it comes to vocals. He can sing the note, but the problem isn't hitting the notes, but the actual singing that he has to do. And it's probably a combination of not wanting to tire out his voice, being afraid to fail and also just being lazy :p

  • @sippe555 Thaks for the explanation, i promise to not bother you anymore :P

  • I would love to see Chris header a football!!!

  • @Truck9289 hahaha Spesh at 1.43

  • Мускульный музей рулит, да да)

  • muse is very very very good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate that they never play this anymore. the need to make that pedal that matt uses for this song again!

  • what did he just say before playing the song ???????????????

  • .... THAT WAS AWESOME! Yep. :)

  • oh my, i'm supposed to be studying but Muse refuses to let go of my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who here agrees they need to make "MUSE RockBand"? It would be SO cool

  • I'd kill to see this at Manchester next month. :(

  • @highflier89 u still after one?

  • btw i dont like how ppl say that the whole album Resistance is shit. the symphonies are epic and in no way "pop"-y

  • @thebinlost agree, those three songs are probably the only redeeming thing on that album, though.

  • I loved this bit 0:00 to 4:18

  • Dom looks completely knackered in this vid. I think someone should make him a cup of tea. Yeah, I get what people are saying about Resistance. I think that the music comes from somewhere within, you can't force it and it's almost like channelling, when you're as good as Muse. If they have a more poppy sound dying to be expressed, it has to be processed to allow what's underneath to get to the surface. Don't worry, it's just an interesting diversion, they still rock.

  • @forestdowser

That album was "poppy" sounding? Have you even listened to Gaga, Katy Perry, or Ke$ha? :X They make Muse seem like the grungiest, darkest band in existence.

  • @forestdowser this is very true. like its not like they've changed its just that they r trying a new sound cuz theyv tried so much other stuff already

  • every single song of their first 4 albums is 10 times better than the whole resistance album. great version of muscle museum

  • @DonSpaeth For me, they are all the same. I think you prefer the old albums which everyone would look onto. I guess The Resistance album wasnt that rocky enough for you thats why many would hate it.

  • @museiZZuDDin its not that its less rocky or smthin. The Resistance ist just a pop-album. its nothing really special. its not muse anymore. its powerless and i dont mean its not "hard" enough i mean the feeling isnt really there on that album. from showbiz to black holes an revalations + all b-sides i do love muse but till they made the resistance and songs like neutron star collision the band muse as i know it died

  • @DonSpaeth they had to change their sound to speak to a larger audience. The resistance is about.. well.. social upheaval and realising that society is just an illusion, so as many people as possible should hear that message

  • I Have Cast MY Vote For Chris's HeadBang Of The Year At 1:43 :D thumbs up if you agree

  • Is he like...eatin the mic? LOL!Oh,yeah...he does that alot!

  • can anyone give me a tab, or a link to the tab for the guitar between 1:06 and 1:17 ?

    THANKS XD

  • @chebaka4 just google it dude

  • I'm so starstruck, by all three of them.. It's not just Matt that I fantasize about. LOL

  • This actually sound better than the studio-edition.

  • wtf is he saying in the beginning?

  • Too bad he lost that effect pedal :/

  • what effects pedal?????

ur not on about the 1octave down harmonizer from a digitech whammy 4 with added sweep echo from line 6 and mabe a tad overdrive from te diezel vh-4??

  • ya cuz he cant sing like he used to man

  • Somehow, Matt looks a bit like John Clease (is that how it's spelled?) from Monthy Python. Well, on some angles only. I think it's just me lol ehehe

  • @BloodyRoxas13

    cleese

  • they don't play muscle museum live any more

  • that's sad =/

  • vote for it then lol i am for manchester lccc

  • Muse is grawesome!

  • This would have to be the best performance of Muscle Museum I've seen. I hope they play this when I see them in April.

  • where are they goin in april?

  • Anyone know how the part at 1:05 to 1:16 for guitar goes?

  • Absolutely my favorite live version of Muscle Museum. AMAZING.

I so miss the days of the Bomber....

  • @highflier89 im with you on that, and that guitar is probably one of my favs too

  • @highflier89 totally agree with u dudeee !!!

  • @highflier89 u miss the day becouse u are old now hahaha tard

  • Comment removed

  • somehow now a days muse isn't as loud as they used to be

  • I can almost replicate his falsetto part during a school karaoke few years ago...

  • @Sxvites Yes, master

  • I want that guitar, my favourite of all his guitars!!! It would be pure bliss to play bliss with this guitar!!!

  • i like that guitar he is playing and the red one with gold dust :)

  • the one he uses for supermassive balck hole? I love that one too! actually....I love all his guitars, even when they are not as popular as gibson, ibanez, etc. but they are very expensive!, I could buy two les paul intead of just one of his signature guitars

  • this is actually one of my favorite muse songs

  • And at the end it shows the website that Matt accidentally deleted when trying to learn HTML editing :D

  • It's a Bomber Manson guitar made by hugh manson in exeter england!but matt doesn't play it anymore!

  • O.o *speechless*

  • amo muchisimo a MUSE son los mejores!!!

  • ▬▬▬

    MUSE

    ▬▬▬

    from britain!

  • what is that guitar !!!

  • google: musewiki and go through matt belamys gear. its a manson custom as usuall for him.

  • thanks !! i checked it out , awsome :D

  • a manson custom guitar i think

  • a manson guitar, from england, but matt made some changes y all the guitars, are specially for him

  • muse is so amazing live. usually their lives are even better than the studio versions.

  • My fave Muse song. And the first i learnt on drums <3

  • what its a very hard song, and the hit hat its so fast. really the first song.

  • o.o, not unbelievably hard :] or am i just ownage at drums? :L;P

  • @tenisplayer

it really isnt that hard but it fits the song perfectly

  • i have a year now playing the drums , i in three rock bands because i have nothing better to do one has myspace furia caramelo and i know im not a bad drummer but that song play like dom its hard y can play it my style but the tings that don do like hitting the hit hats that way or the tom in the chorus its really hard. details are important in music

  • @tenisplayer

iv played drums for a year and a half and it really isnt that hard. once youv got that beat going constantly its quite easy 2 mess around on it

  • if that the case im a bad drummer upload a video playing it

  • @tenisplayer

sadly iv not got a camera so i cant, but u can upload one 2 prove ur not bad

  • morgan does live performances with muse but therecordings are only them

  • best performance of muscle? i think so!!!

  • Started with three...shall always be three..morgan just does live performances..everything is else is Matt! XD MUSE!!

  • I think its crazy how they made all of there songs with 3 and only 3 people, where there are covers with like 6 or 7 and the covers still mess up dramatically, that just goes to show how amazing muse is.

  • 6 or 7? thats a lot xD

  • well think of it this way, keyboard, vocals, bass, drums, guitar, and for some reason i see a second guitarist sometimes. Thats 6.

  • partially right:

matt: guitar OR piano AND vocals,

chris: bass, sometimes guitar, few times keyboard,

dom: drums and sometimes electronical stuff.

morgan is the fourth guy, he does a lot of electronical stuff that i no nothing about, and he sometimes plays keyboard and bass, when chris plays guitar.

i guess thats all. so, yeah, they're mostly four people. but never ever more than that...and they have never in their career played with a second guitarist. thats just wrong!

  • Morgon is just there for live. Every studio thing is all Muse

  • i know...:)

  • chris - harmonica too :)

and that guy who plays the trumpet in koc. what a ledgend

and last but not least. i heard on thhe new album chris is gonna sing on a song so matt can be more intricate on guitar. (MORE intricate?) :S just a rumour. don't get your hopes up.

  • u got it preety down i dont think know why people give u negative its cuz dey like cock

  • thx...(=

  • in many ways it's easier to perform in a band with only 3 people.

  • That way communication levels are lower, that makes sence.

  • sence..hmm

  • it is

  • the riff during this song in glastonbury is amazing!!!!!!!

  • My wife and I were obviously dead to the world for the past few years bc we never heard of this band before.. Well we've heard of them now and we can't get enough of them. To say these guys are awsome is a great understatement. They saved my opinion of the genre..

  • True, these guys are without a doubt the best rock band of their generation which seems to contain a whole heap of crap to put it nicely!

  • OMG since first time i listened to this song... i fell in love with it and its like 1 year ago *_*

  • i love sufjan stevens. He is my favourite chillin' artist. Best folk artist around but in my eyes muse is the best art, alternative rock artist around.

  • i just came

  • No matter how much I listen to these guys, they amaze me every time.

  • What effect is Matt using at the beginning? (as of 0:19)

  • Some sort of pitch shifting effect, adding another signal to the original guitar signal (probably 7 semitones up)

  • thank you

  • I thought that is was a double octave up, but I might be wrong XD

  • simply an octave doubler.... but he is playing diminished sevenths on an oddly tuned guitar

  • wrong...he isnt. i can play this exactly like this without effects, in standart tuning...and there arent barely any sevenths...your wrong, sorry...

  • he's using a fuzz bass. or a fuzz pedal for bass guys.

  • Russian big muff with an EHX bassballs.

  • Nice guys!!!

  • gooooooooooooood

  • its called a chrome bomber (manson)

    its well nice

  • how much does it cost?

  • im not sure but its custom made

  • u are right!!!

  • I luv the guitar that Matthew are using now. It is so beautiful and sounds great. Matt looks even more sexy with it=D...Well..Of coz..he still look sexy even without his guitars :P

  • God this is soo wonderful!!!!! *_*

but chris always looks like he´s in pain when hes singing Oo

  • wow

  • what is the snare tht dom uses

  • So fucking good

  • i think it's better live, more exciting

  • if live music was the same as the stuff on the album then whats the point of going to a concert?

  • I think people go because even though their seats are like a mile from the stage, they still fantasize about touching the people.

Or it could be a desire for voluntary deafness.

  • Muse is better live than on albums, that's why people go see them...And hearing live music by people that you love is always better than listening to a CD...You are surrounded by people like you, people you can share your feelings about this band with...

  • @cannabisabuser are you high or what? :D Simply awesome !

  • fantastic...

  • what effect is it?

  • lol i like how i got 7 thumbs down

  • GOD, How I love Muse.

  • was there, love muse <3

  • I love matthew's voice, he is great on live too!!

  • YAY!! i love muse!!! THIS ROCKS MAN

  • Lol beachball @ 1:30

Amazing song, prolly the best from Showbiz.

  • used that guitar be a fender jaguar? :P

  • Pardon? If you're asking about his guitar its a custom made Manson.

  • putos genios....

  • Anyone can tell what kind of fx he's using for the intro? Thanks in advance.

  • For the live version he has a whamy set one octave up, a delay and his phaser ^^

  • Actually, I just bought a Line 6 floor pod and it has this effect as a preset, so that's lucky. :P

    Thanks anyway.

  • how is the preset called I'm interessted in it since I got a pod myself

    Cheers

  • Well, on my pod, it's preset #20

You can add wah to pitch it up a bit, but it gets really annoying in small rooms.

  • naaa ur all wrong make a delay called aecho sweep and set a digitech whammy to 1 oct up on harmonizeand the speed of the echo sweep is 1

case settled ive had pod for near a year and i can do this song perfectly

    :)

    have fun

    karl

  • Using what amp? Classic, Clean, High Gain, Insane?

  • its hard to tell but if you want the best sound like glastonbury clean and the amp he uses is a diezel vh-4 little pricey but i get away with it fair accurately sounding and using a laney gh 100 but any amp that has clean sound is perfect if your using a floor board to gain this sound dont have the volume/wah pedal down fully even tho it is queit turn the amp up for some odd resons having the pedal down fully destorts it a little so when you her the echo sweep it sounds nasty

    karl

  • i was meant to say echo sweep for the delay bit

any more questions about any songs and effects ask me im pro with fx, tones and floor boards and the odd rackmount

  • Ok, thanks.

  • dude do u know how to get plug in babys bass sound?

  • big muff? or boss's bass overdrive?

  • i have the boss's bass overdrive.. i can get the sound perfectly like chris's bass after fiddling the pedal and the amp for a while.

  • but he is not use ti here, is more the sound of the bass in histeria

  • yup.. it KINDA....not really, but kinda sounds close to this song.. i just turn my bass amp to a hollow pitch sound and give my pedal very little static

  • russian big muff

  • Not a type of synth?

  • wat abt the cd version?

  • And Uno :O

  • and falling down and cave and unintended and sober and escape and overdue and hate this & i'll love you :P hehe (spot the deliberate mistake ;))

  • Is there really a mistake? Can't find it.

  • nothing really, i just left out Fillip :P

  • Ah. :P

  • for obvious reasons lol

  • i love muse hes a proper singer not like alot of singers who make them sound different on cds and tv he sounds better live i think its impossible how many skills he has he and his band are FUCKING WICKED GO MUSE ^_^ *_* xp

  • damn do you see the impro on this man his skills are so unbelivable it s fuckin radiculous ..... so much talent .....i envy his music talent so badly .....real genious when it comes to writing, expresing songs .....he deservs a nobel prize for his music ....it is really something else different dimention...i don t think the world is ready for this music yet ...it s like describing infinity

  • wow you said it so beautifully

    so true
